The Amanda's Letter add-on for The Pig has been Kill Switched due to an issue with incorrect RBT count.

If survivors can suicide why not giving Killers the option to open gates always at any time?
Since we have more hackers in dbd then Killer mains why not reducing our suffering abit by giving us also the choice to end the game as fast as possible?
Sure there might be ppl who may give up cuz they got their down after 3 gens and they think the game is over but we all know that hackers are since this year a huge problem.
BHVR pls atleast dont let us waste our time in a game you cannot win anyway, I would like to just move on to my next game without having to play the ENTIRE game through knowing I cant do anything against those ppl.

I was thinking about this myself. Some killers (and survivors) like to dedicate builds for endgame so allowing them to utilize those perks immediately sounds like a good decision. The biggest downside that comes to mind is that lack of blood points being spread around.

This is bad idea because people can abuse it:
For example people who wanna farm shards or people who wanna de-rank mmr can start match and open gates immediately.
But killers can have this option if 3 gens already pop'ed. This would make it better.

Just think of the MMR farming shenanigans that could lead to
2 -
Ye that sounds like a great compromise.
0 -
It already exists lol
1 -
Yeah, but that would really streamline the process
0 -
In general you are right, however barely any does that tbh.
0 -
And cheating isnt abuse? it's worse. Until BHVR decides to try to eliminate the hackers there needs to be this option.
2 -
Yeah, the fact survivors are already abusing hook suicide is enough reason to not have it, if anything we should remove hook suicide from the game as that bring nothing but a toxicity and broken games.

Everyone can just move on to the next match and get more points?
The alternative, and the current state of killers who give up, is the survivors wasting 10 minutes milking another 3,000 points out of the match while the defeated killer's AFK in the corner. Had the survivors simply finished gens and left they would have been into the next match and made more than 3,000 in that same time frame...
Letting killers resign only speeds this process up. Win-win, ironically

You're here as a survivors plaything, nothing more, lol

Shards are dependent on a small amount of emblems, and total time spent in a trial, maxing out at 10 minutes I believe, so gate opening wouldn't benefit any kind of farming for shards

I would absolutely open the gates, farm with survivors and just hook one of them when the timer is halfway down to activate blood warden. They can just heal each other for altruism points while I smile and hope they don't figure out what I just did.
Oops timer is almost gone better get out of here little fellas.

Maybe add a way for killers to kick-start gens, making them progress to full completion at 1 or 2 charges per second and removing skill checks from survivors who repair it.
This would solve survivors taking the game hostage at 1 gen left
0 -
Because they wouldn't actively add a feature with the sole purpose being to "disconnect" without a penalty.
Survivors can only die on hook faster because they need some form of time pressure on the hook, and the self-unhook mechanic needs a punishment for trying.

Starting the endgame won't even save you from hackers
0 -
You know the cheaters will just hold you hostage until 2 hours after EGC has counted down so it won't make any difference, right?
1 -
you can do exactly that already
0 -
It does

My name is Starlost and I endorse this post.
My last game of the night...had a duo SWF that, when they started losing, decided to play hide-and-seek on Eyrie - just going from locker to locker, occasionally creeping out to touch a gen, avoiding AFK crows. Took me forever to find them. So bloody annoying that survivors can stall the game out like that out of sheer BM.
Sure. But it will save you from the hide-and-seekers and the forever squads.
1 -
That is true but many cheaters dont do that, the most are trying to annoy as many ppl as possible. I encounter daily 2-4 cheaters (not exaggerating) and I NEVER met anyone who tried to hold me hostage. Most just either play normal and then start cheating once you are about to win or they just straight up kill the game buy flying around and do goofy stuff.

Just make it an option 5 minutes after the start of the trial.
If the survivor haven't done 5 gens at that point either A) the killer is already winning or B) all parties had enough time to farm BP.
0 -
That is a different kind of problem but I agree
0 -
Cause it would make a match completely pointless.
1 -
How would this make a match 'pointless' in a way that someone suiciding on hook doesn't?
It's pretty much the one time where I go 'holy crap I wish I could just end this'.

I got to disagree. To me having something like this implemented is just giving people who want to derank an easy way to do it.
I also believe people will give up far too easily instead of actually continuing on the game and having a chance of winning. Here's some examples:
- "Oh I got cowshed. Ok I'm opening the doors."
- "Oh my Ruin was cleansed in the first 30 seconds. Ok I'm opening the doors."
- "2 gens were done before I got my first down. Ok I'm opening the exit doors."
Most of the top dbd players didn't get good at this game by giving up and sitting in a corner when things started to go bad. They got kept going and got smarter.
In regards to hackers this is just a bandage fix. Facing hackers is horrible to both sides but they need to address it properly.

Agree but you cannot take care of ppl like this. This will always exist just like in any other game.

It's funny this is already happening to survivors and also is extremely bad for game.
0 -
I fear that too many people would use this as soon as it's looking bad for them.
When winning as a survivor, you kind of want to still continue with the match as usual until it actually comes to an end. I don't want so many matches cancelled out early just because my survivor team was doing well and was winning. You still want to play out that match normally.
And to be fair, I've never been a fan of the suicide on hook option anyways, as it screws the rest of your team.

The only time that I think the killer should have this option to end game is when they are being held hostage in a game with tormentors. Example - I watched a stream the other night where a swf group flashlight bullied a killer to the max. TO THE MAX~! Said it was "our game style" and that's how they like to play the game. Leaving 2 gens unfinished and just wanted to get points for flashlight saves.
Thing is... the killer never signed up for that 'game style'. So, I felt bad watching this killer... they could be new, or seasoned, whatever the case. And it made me think I wish they had a way out of this type of game. As a firm believer in not dc'ing I give the killer props for not giving up. Still, it didn't seem right.
However, you all make good points here. People would end up abusing the option to end game. So how to fix this sorta situation? Should be some kind of option to play in a custom game this sorta 'game style' so all parties are on board with it.
It's unfortunate that this kind of situation is prolly unavoidable atm, and we just gotta live with it XD!

How? Really? As killer you at least get a bunch of points if they kill themself on first hook. What do survivors get if killers just wanna troll and open the gate as soon as possible? Points for maybe one Gen (isnt that much at all) and escape points. Thats it. Sums up to a depip and just wasted time. Thats just a chapter in the "101 on how to kill the game".
1 -
give em 5k bp for all categories, here problem fixed.
0 -
Sure thing. Super compensation for being in queue for some time and wanting to play the game but just getting some trolls ending the game as soon as possible. It makes no sense to implemt something that just for trolls to be abused as much as possible.
0 -
Yeah, neither having something like that makes sense, suicide removal when.
0 -
killer should have easy way out (with out DC) if the game go on to long and they know they loss.
0 -
You can absolutely depip at Iri if multiple survivors suicide. Had to literally stop playing Hag and Cenobite during my final push due to people doing this. And that's assuming they suicide and don't just DC.
I'd be happy to grant some bonus grading in both scenarios.
