RIP Circle of Healing, Welcome Shadowstep!
With the nerf to Circle of Healing turning it into a weaker Self-Care, this hopefully incentivizes Survivors to start running Shadowstep instead. It's way more fun to use anyway. I love running into a boon area and seeing the Shadowstep icon. In fact, Shadowstep has gotten me out of plenty of hairy situations such as losing a tunneling Nurse!

People used CoH because of it's overpowered healing potential.
Why would people now use Shadowstep instead?
10 -
COH still gives free infinite Medkits to the entire team lol
22 -
CoH will remain a strong Perk, and the best Boon Perk
3 -
Shadowstep will be the stronger boon now. Plus it's way more fun, interesting, and downright hilarious to use! Had a Huntress run straight past a room I was in directly after a chase because she couldn't see my scratch marks. Lmao

Never! Don't feed into the lies! Shadowstep will be the superior boon and I demand to hear you say it! /s
It's way more fun and funny for that matter to use anyhow.

People will rather stick with Meta Perks.
And Booners will probably still use CoH or more.

Still, COH is so boring. 😴 but I know alot of people are freaking out over it. I'm hoping more people swap it out for for its more interesting brother.

Shadow Step and Dark Theory make Survivors look like they're cheating. That's pretty funny if you ask me
1 -
Lol using in-game hacks for the advantage!
I need to level Yoichi up.

I like DT's second name. Boon: Subtle Cheats.

COH is still too strong lol. Shadow Step can do some cool stuff but it isn't stronger than infinite selfcare at high speed

That's the sad thing. When the devs mentioned a COH nerf I was really hoping it would shake up the meta. I really should have known better.
0 -
That's a pretty fitting name

At the very least, Shadowstep is way more interesting and funny to use. 🤷♂️
A man can only dream about a Shadowstep meta!
0 -
That's your opinion.
Edit: I hate all Boons.

I don't mind Exponential unless it's run by a 4 man Bully SWF. Haven't gone against Dark Theory yet so I don't have an opinion. COH was always a thorn in my side.
Shadowstep made me feel like a good killer when I was still able to track survivors through it. I think it makes interesting plays and that's why I enjoy it the way I do. There's a lot you can do with it. I personally like to lose the killer within the radius and stay hidden nearby... watching the Killer frantically search for me.

I use Self Care, Bite the Bullet and Lucky Break. It's also quite fun.

Circle Of Healing is still strong, just a bit more reasonable. There's still no reason to run Shadow Step over COH.
1 -
They could completely remove the healing speed bonus and it would still be picked because it gives everyone a free perk slot/item. That's why these "nerfs" are so meaningless, they completely fail to address the actual issue with the perk.
1 -
Ir won’t be picked. Ds, ub, bt and dh again
1 -
It can prevent the need to heal in the first place.
1 -
It most definitely will.

21s vs 32s
🤔
Clearly a dead perk.

Overpowered? Nah, if you ran Sloppy Butcher, you would obliterate 95% of survivors who insist on using CoH before the nerf. Just because its used a lot doesnt mean its necessarily strong. CoH was picked for it's Utility. It was a way to give randoms "comms" to heal up, but something that killers could turn off.
CoH only had 2 issues:
- 3 injured people healing each other in the boon was always too fast
- the radius was too large for indoor maps
Simply cap the healing to +75% to the healing action rather than to each healer, and reduce the radius to 18 meters and it would have been fine.

You're completely wrong tho. CoH is a timesink. Let's pull out the numbers:
- finding a totem that wont get snuffed before you can use it ->30 seconds on average
- blessing the totem->14 seconds, 24 seconds if its a hex
- average time required to run to the totem if you are injured->7 seconds, 14 seconds if you're with 2 people to heal faster
- time to heal->21 seconds alone, 9 seconds together
- average time to run back/find an objective nearby->4 seconds, or 8 seconds when with 2 people
So thats a 44 second timesink just to have a decent boon active, then 32 seconds before you can be on a gen when alone or 31 seconds when together. Thats 78 seconds for the first average heal wasted.
Now, here is some other numbers:
- be an swf on comms
- Tell your teammate to meet up in the middle or at an objective->10 seconds on average
- heal up->16 seconds
That's it. 26 seconds to heal up on average, no items, no perks, just comms. Botany Knowledge is better for SWF than CoH.

No need for sarcasm. I was making a silly post encouraging Shadowstep.

Except that it is way more fun and interesting!

finding a totem that wont get snuffed before you can use it ->30 seconds on average
Adding this is rather disingineous because it assumes you spend 30 seconds simply looking for the totem when most people will simply find the totem on their way to the next objective.
blessing the totem->14 seconds, 24 seconds if its a hex
The time removing the hex should not be counted because, presumably, the survivor would have removed it regardless of this perk. You also need to discount the time it takes for the killer to snuf the totem, 1 second. And since the killer's time is worth 4x that of a survivor, it should be only a 10 seconds investiment.
average time required to run to the totem if you are injured->7 seconds, 14 seconds if you're with 2 people to heal faster
That would like the be same time required to find a safe place to heal in the first place.
time to heal->21 seconds alone, 9 seconds together
That's still less time to heal than self care (32 seconds), which, unlike selfcare, is extended to the whole team.
average time to run back/find an objective nearby->4 seconds, or 8 seconds when with 2 people
Again, that's just as much time needed if the guy had ran to a safe place to heal.

Surprisingly I haven't been chewed out by anyone yet for running Shadow Step since it's a lot more fun and Selfish Care together without ever using CoH.
1 -
Using CoH and Shadow Step together will be the way to go. I think a lot of killers will be using Sloppy + Nurses Calling now and trying to interrupt heals due to the new haemorrhage.
For those who want to try playing against these new changes you will pretty much have to use CoH + SS otherwise you'll probably just highlight where you are to the killer but yeah, SS is underrated. Me and my friend love running it together and creating areas where you can connect shadow steps. It makes looping the killer so much easier and lets you get away more easily from powerful ones like Nurse or Blight etc.
Otherwise I still think insta heals or playing injured will be new meta. Might not be worth it to try and force heal against this tide.

Shadow is good but location dependend. You have to find a totem near the gen you want to do. It doesn´t benefit on the other side of the map. CoH does that.

I used both but I would unequip CoH over shadowstep, I prefer to have Shadow step over CoH any day, I could bring a decent medkit but having a higher chance to lose a killer is better IMO (well im terrible at winning chases lmao)
