I started to feel anxiety when I want to play killer...

I've always played 80% killer and I was excited learning my favorite killers and climbing to rank 1 that I couldn't get to yet rank 3 is my max so far but it started to feel meh I keep thinking if I should play killer these day and I get a weird feeling of anxiety because it feels like a chore the same stressful prosses of chasing good survivors through 20 pallets and infinite loops even winning doesn't feel satisfying because you need to sweat and fry your braincells for it, feels more like torture.

As soon as you get your first hook 3 gens are already done, maps are too big while everyone hears your terror radius they hide somewhere and they keep dodging you since killer FOV is limited and you play hide and seek into chases and poof all gens are done .

The anxiety of having to face SWF sabo squads that are so effective you can't do anything just doing well through a series of matches bumped me into some sort of high mmr, everyone is clicking flashlights and t-bagging can't even count how many times it happened and from all of these experiences and how difficult killer is I just don't feel like playing it that much anymore, I improved at nurse I can get good games with her but she's not fun to play.

Played so many multiplayer games, even the infamous League of Legends which I've been playing since 2014 doesn't feel as toxic or exhausting to play as killer in DBD.

Thinking of playing killer gives me anxiety but survivor feels chill and sorta fun even if I get face camped or tunneled or hit on hook it's not as miserable as getting bullied by survivors when you play killer and it's way easier to pip that killer .

When I started DBD I used to play killer for 10 matches straight without getting bored but now after 1 match I just feel exhausted and not mentally prepared for another one till tomorrow.

Nothing wrong with video games none are as stressful for me even souls games I've played all of them pretty much were okay compared to the stress I'm getting from killer in DBD too many elements that are making the role that bad sadly but I'm trying to play more survivor it's way less mentally taxing.

When I started the game I was a killer main, I felt so much pressure that I grabbed my PS4 controller so hard that I ended up getting wrist and thumb pain. I stopped then. I quit for a while and got back and started playing survivor. When I see that the game is not providing any good feelings, I stop playing for a while and come back. It's never bad to take a game-nap of a couple of weeks...

Killer is only getting easier and easier. Just relax and left click on people. You'll either get them or you won't BUT you'll get better each time you do it.

I play killer to relax. I enjoy the hunt but I'm also not limited by the pipping system. I do what I want.

I liked Day 1. Had great teammates and good Killers. Killer was challenging but it wasn't super taxing.

Day 2 was inconsistent for me. Had some really good matches, just like Day 1, but also some really really ######### one's.

Day 3 was sweat. Constant map offerings as Killer, literally six Blights in a row running the same build.

Day 4 was pretty much the same, but with a little more variety.

Day 5 was good. Definitely the best day since Day 1. Had some weird ping issues that day though.

Killers FOV and general clumsiness when you control them actually irritates me overtime so much.

I dont understand how this design would contribute to making the game more fun for any party.

I would suggest you switch to survivor or play a different game.

Between the MMR, the boons, the cheaters, the DH-like turn speeds (how is that even a thing?), ... sometimes there is very little appeal playing killer. (And the auto-miss, and survivors being able to hide inside the killer body, ...)

I've spent most of my game time playing Elden Ring. It's relatively easy but it's very interesting and, hear this, fun.

I may go in another hiatus soon myself.

pretty sure everyone feels like that at some point all you have to do is stop caring about winning and set your own goals for having fun in a match and try out cool things hard grind a killer you thought you didnt like and get good at them or something

I think another issue is having to grind an insane number of perks to play fun and relaxing killer builds. I used to find myself wanting to try a build but not having 1 or 2 perks for it. 5 million BP later and I still don't have the perks so I just get disheartened and quit. Now having to do this on like 30 killers is INSANE. I finally am getting to the point where if I want to play a killer I can play a decent build but it took years. Survivors have it so easy in the perk department. Just get them all on one character and you're set.

I'm glad I'm not the only one that sometimes feels anxiety when playing killer.

    P.S: that's why I take a break to play Sims 4 lol

I get that in majority of PVP but not PVE games. I think this is why I cant enjoy single player games much anymore.

Nothing gives you a thrill like a challenging PVP game, gets the adrenaline drops going and drives competition.

Just turn chat off and dont care if you win or lose. Chase, down, hook. Repeat. Dont let your anxiety cause you to lose

    you got this, killer bros

That actually makes me hate the game even more because the randoms I get are idiots. Makes me ask "wait. When I play killer the survivors make zero mistakes but when I play survivor I get the noobs? Why can't I get these people when I play killer?"

Today I don't care anymore if I vs. Swf or solo.

It was years ago when I did care.

I too feel anxiety when I want to play, but for survivor :0 Yes, survivor is stressful to me.

I'd suggest taking a break from the game. Once you start having anxiety from playing, it will only get worse the more you play.

I bet you can find a copy of F13... The servers are dead, but they added a bunch of solo stuff where you stalk npc counselors... May be a good way to take a break, while still (kind of) playing something very much like the experience you're looking for.

As others have said, if a game is affecting your mental health, step away. There are millions of games in the world, you've only got 1 mind.

No doubt in my mind that we can all agree on the killer FOV being garbage. (They need to just make Shadowborn basekit for everyone at this point).

I get the same kind of anxiety going into killer games too, it’s totally understandable. I just lower my expectations and goals whenever I know i’m not gonna get what the game calls a “win.” If I can’t get 4 kills, I’ll at least try to get 1 or 2, or just a lot of hooks. Taking the game too seriously makes it less enjoyable. I’ve had more fun hunting adept achievements on Killers than actually playing with a meta build.

XD same. This one week of login rewards with SHARDS was the OBLY reason i reinstalled this game. Which reminds me i still have to uninstall it again.

Believe me when i say playing versus noobs is also not fun in the long run.

I play killer to do challenges and dailies and I can honestly say I hate having to even que as killer. The number of times I que instantly regret the choice and just shut the game down because that is just so much stress to take on. I get it from the killers side and honestly if you play long enough as survivor you will also dread loading in outside of a SWF. I know that survivors are more concerned with their own fun then the killers but once I get to iri 1 I could care less about winning cause I littlerally give no Pips (😂). As killer I can maybe hit gold but honestly if I get to silver I am doing amazing. I haven't had the motivation to finish the killer challenge in the newest page cause it has yet another kill 8 obsessions which either means 8 games or using nemesis to get more than one kill in a game being as sweaty as I can be. I usually use rancor and just kill them at the end but let them farm me so they wont depip. Killer honestly sucks your alone against toxic people who feel like bullying the killer is more fun then doing gens.

Crazy how everyone is going through the same anxiety and stress. Everytime I get excited from watching streams or reading the forum I log in and I get all those flashbacks and all the running around I have to do again it's just too much, It's weird how I quickly went from playing killer only to both to eh let's just play 1 killer game and 5 survivor games and call it a day.

FOV as getting mentioned we need shadowborn basekit it's not that advantageous but it's a quality of life update for killers instead of wasting a perk slot for it, like we need a FOV slider that goes from normal killer FOV to shadowborn number and you can set your comfortable number.

Imagine how completely neglected Solo Survs feel in this world?

Would you change to an alternative server without SWF and slightly buffed Survs to get balanced matches probably without toxic bhvr?

Of course it is relatively stressful to play a competitive game rigged against you while half the community gaslights you about your skill while they get carried by their role. The important aspect is to focus on yourself exclusively and learn from it to improve if that is your goal. If your goal is to dominate those rats what you want to do is exclusively camp and tunnel with strong end game perks. Or derank. Whatever.

    I can understand the feeling.

It's there too whenever I think of playing survivor whether it be solo or with some friends since nearly every match is against a Nurse or Blight with the occasional face camping Bubba.

I think people should just stop playing the game for some period, don't think serious help is needed.
