Why everyone happy about CoH "nerf"? It's not even nerf

I forgot the whole formula for self caring with COH but im pretty sure the 75% increased healing was 20 seconds so 50% should be around 22 seconds. Either way its still a needed nerf, now we just need a global cooldown after placing it.

I think the formula was:
(1+0.5)*(1-0.5)=0.75
16/0.75=21.333...

They shouldve made boons only last for a min or 2

NightLight doesn't data mine anything, their percentages are based off of those that upload their end game results, the stats aren't even close to official.

The nerf is irrelevant. The only fix for boons is to allow the killer to break a totem and/or destroy the boon.

Glad you're not part of the balance team then. That is a stupid change to make and boons would be useless. Unless there's a survivor perk that makes boons longer to snuff out just like toth...

Hex can be destroyed, it takes several seconds to do it. High risk high reward. And adding perks to everyone around a totem is quite an high reward.

and yourself

But you can't do that with Dark Theory or Shadowstep, is the point I'm making. You can't make a boon effect that actively conflicts with other Boons like they. It makes one act differently from the rest for no real reason other than the one is inconvenient/annoying.

But you cant think for others in the solo queue.

For me COH is dead. Ds, ub, bt and iw again

Its no better than selfcare don't you know? 😉

Yeah, you are not the only one, I love the alternative name reading too :)

21s vs 32s
free 5th perk to all team, that still give too much time and pressure to team
no better
ok

True, you can still stack 4 healing perks (counting COH) ,a medkit AND addons, might aswell put on a The Game offering.

So you realize if you want it to be like hexes, you will have to take the 14 seconds to snuff it. 14 seconds of uninterrupted Gen times for the survivors. 14 seconds per boon as well.

Who said it should be like a hex?
Give it a smaller radius or none at all. Make the survivor touch the totem to heal
Let the killer break the totem
Give it 3 uses before the perk goes dead.
Give it a time limit
There is allot that can be done to make the perk less of a problem, but they just keep hitting the speed.

There isn't a need to do it with those 2 boons.
And i'd say that CoH isn't inconvenient or annoying, it's op and the nerfs that have been hit with it well justified, do not address the core issue most killers have with the perk that it is infinite.

The guy I replied to did.

You know people could just use We'll make it, Bond, Aftercare, Empathic Connection for the 8 -16 seconds healing right? It's faster, safer and hassle free from ever needing to plant a boon.
you could both heal each other for 16-32 seconds or would you rather plant a boon and do it for 35-57 seconds?
More time you're on a gen the better, so just equip Bond or Aftercare it will do you good in the long run instead running around with useless "5th perk".
Admit it COH is dead.

The basic premise of a Boon totem is 'set up the Boon, get access to its effect until it's snuffed'. Adding a self-snuff to only one Boon, or one that can't be replicated by other Boons likely to be used along with it, makes the one Boon act differently from the rest for no reason other than dissatisfaction with the perk.
There are ways to restrict an infinite boon (limited set ups per match, cooldown to set up once snuffed]), but limited uses of an active Boon isn't it.

Yep, it's a bad perk now. People don't seem to realize how much time it takes to find a totem, then bless the totem and then heal. Not to mention you have to run to that specific spot to heal. The killer can snuff it in like a couple of seconds as well.

So you're counting the amount of time it takes the Survivor to go and heal up (on their own which means more Gen time overall), but don't when it comes to the Killer going out do their way to snuff it (which takes around 30 seconds if placed well, which is, at max, 120 seconds worth of Gen time, and 60 seconds minimum)? Double standard?

I snuff a totem when I'm near it (takes a couple of seconds). I'm not gonna waste 30+ seconds looking for a boon totem.

But that's the core issue with it.
Try a map with multiple Coh's it doesn't matter if i snuff it or it has a cd. It's endless. Imagine i could reapply my hexes (albeit in a smaller area) but i could do it at will, It would be cried upon.
Just call CoH for what it is a endless medkit, you have to go and pick that kit up but its endless.

Lets play a little game of: "Can SWF on comms do it better?"
Search a teammate? Faster than a survivor can run to a totem, in fact, I can be guaranteed next to a gen, the totem doesnt guarantee that
Heal up? Faster than a survivor can do at a totem
What if a SWF brings CoH? Only an issue on indoor maps, any other map and Botany Knowledge is better.
Seems like CoH isnt the issue, indoor maps are.

You're ignoring the cost to the other survivors who didn't take CoH - which is zero. If one person brings CoH, all 4 survivors get:
No need to bring a medkit, take a good toolbox instead.
No need to take any healing perks, just self-care in the boon area for 21 seconds (still 11 seconds shorter than the perk even after the recent "nerf")
For a single perk on a single survivor to grant still such massive healing time reduction for altruistic & medkit healing plus quicker full self-care for 4 survivors for the cost of one perk on one survivor and 14 seconds to set it up, CoH is the biggest bargain and force multiplier in DbD by far, especially when you consider how brokenly good it is on a multi-level map.

With Bond and After care you wouldn't even need a medkit either and it would even give you more chance to use Prove thyself very effectively not to mention its a free information perk which is extremely good in SoloQ and think about how many times would you have to bless a totem just for the killer to snuff it in 1 second?
Do you think you could bring COH with you on the other side of the map? you think you could heal for 21 seconds if your team mate is already on death hook? Can you even use COH to locate both survivor and killer? The versatility of Bond and Aftercare is better than COH.

The perk should not exist imo, it was a terrible idea from the start and no amount of nerfing takes away from the fact it gives your 3 team mates a free perk

But a good squad will never lead you to their Circle of healing and will always place it as far away from the 3 gen as possible. They will MAKE you waste 30 seconds looking for it and given a trash map like ironworks or eyrie you could spend even more time looking for it/snuffing it.

Especially for territorial killers like Trapper & Hag.
