Survivors hiding and doing nothing
So I had a game yesterday playing as Sadako and I managed to save a really strong 4 gen (yes 4) with my ruin in the middle. I could literally see 3 of the gens and my ruin from a hill and the other gen was not too far either. The remaining 2 survivors decided to hide and do nothing for maybe 10 minutes. I don't know if you've played as Sadako but she has the POV of a small turtle and even though I would leave the 4 gens and search for them it took me forever to find them - they were typically crouching in a bush on the other side of the map.
Is this reportable? I feel like there should be some sort of system to prevent this. I get it, it sucks knowing the killer has a massive advantage but it's always on my mind to save a 3 gen and, in most cases, it's on the survivors to prevent strong gen groupings (in my opinion). I would at least try and repair the gens even if it got me killed and then just move on.
Also, before someone brings it up I did start actively searching around the map for them - I wasn't just sitting on that hill all game. I would just TP back to the TVs near my gens every so often to check.
The map was Grim pantry if you're wondering.

When you suggest they just work on the gen in your face, effectively giving up and losing so every one can move on...
Why not do the same, as killer? Why not go AFK in the corner for 2 minutes and let them escape so you could all move on?
Do you see the double standard you suggest?

I feel like in this particular game had I just done that they still would have hid in the corner.
Like I said - I get that it sucks to be in that position but it is a part of my strategy to have a 3 gen by the end game - me afking is throwing away that effort. There were 2 of them they could have engaged with me and tried to get the gen done while I was in chase or do my ruin.
It really wasn't my intention to start an argument I feel like I should apologies for that - I just thought it was an annoying game and brought it up
I totally get that it would suck as a survivor.

I have gone AFK in these situations and come back after 20+ minutes and gens still hadn't been touched.

Occasionally this will happen, my last occurrence was on the mother's dwelling map while playing Artist. 3-4 gens left to do and 3 survivors left, 1 on death hook. The one on death hook was the only one attempting gens, so i left her be and tried to find the other 2 who were sitting in lockers in the basement occasionally moving between them. The death hook survivor teamed up with me to help find them because this match was going on past 25m mark. They were caught and hooked and i let the other go as a thank you.

It is reportable, for you. The survivors can report YOU for "taking the game hostage" as you play your objective, or afk. Doesn't matter really, what matters is that the survivors who refuse to play are being held hostage. Yes, the game is so survivor sided that even the rules are rigged. I wish I was joking, but I am being 100% at the moment.
The good news is I doubt they would actually report for it. Even the most delusional of survivor mains wouldn't think to report you, thankfully. But if they did and sent the video, you would likely get suspended. Lol.

Oh wow that is crazy for sure... I guess I'm the bad guy - quite sad really :(
I was searching for them but they were hiding literally on the other side of the map near the exit gates where I didn't really believe they would go which is why it took so long :S

If I remember correctly, Identity V's afk-crows trigger for "not touching a cypher(generator) gor a while", maybe Dbd needs something similiar.

Uhh.... defending generators is not reportable. I would very much like a citation that shows that a killer defending a 3 gen is reportable, because I am really quite certain it is not. It is not holding the game hostage to patrol gens.

It actually can be reportable if the killer stalls the game without trying to win. Doc can do it by keeping survivors in madness tier 3, not allowing them to work on gens, but also refusing to slug or hook them, meaning they can't escape and they can't die so their only option to end the match is disconnecting.

True, but that is not patrolling generators. Just putting the survivors in a bad gen spot is not reportable.

The killer is doing his objective, not the survivors. Hiding for more than 10min is not doing your objective.
You can report them for holding the game hostage.
FYI, a killer holding the game hostage would be :
- bodyblocking a survivor in a corner all game
And that’s it. Killers have no other way to prevent the game to be played. In every other situation, survivors have the possibility to work on gens and escape.

You got it wrong what he is trying to say. He doesnt say survivor should give up right off the bat. With 2 survivors beeing dead the game is pretty much over, unless you can still outplayed the killer hard by keep looping him while the other one does gens, however neither of them tried anything from what he wrote there so there wasnt even the will of trying to win. Instead they just wasted the time of basicly everyone remaining in the lobby and I totally agree with this.
I also had some games where the last 1-2 survivors where hiding and not progressing the game, they STILL died in the end cuz i found them eventually but it took me like 10min+ which is just unecessary and dumb. No one said survivors are not allowed to hide, but it should have a reason, not when the game is over with noone else to back you up.
