Time to uninstall
Well tonight I bought two chapters for the last two killers I needed adept on. The oni and Twins. After 3 games playing Oni I find myself uninstalling this game. Maybe one day I'll be back but the level of frustration this game causes isn't healthy and the fact the developers aren't doing anything about the balance of the game or something about the killer adept system both pisses me off and concerns me.
Like are you guys actually listening to your player base? Fix your adept system, give killers something so that they aren't frustrated to the point of quitting unless they enjoy the punishment.
Long story short I've tried to enjoy playing this game either with friends or playing meme/fun builds with killer. Nothing is fun anymore no matter how inventive I try and be with either side. The game in its current state is an absolute mess and only good for playing with friends once every so often and I don't even wanna do that anymore.
I've had fun with the game but yeah good riddance, won't miss all the frustration it brings.

Inb4 you-know-who going 'muh survivors, killer player just sukcs git gud'.
But yes, this is a very frustrating game at times. Enjoy your break, come back when you see a change or an addition that interests you.
14 -
So you expected to be good enough to get adept on a new killer after only 3 matches?
48 -
I mean.. yeah if it’s frustrating for you, you should definitely not proceed playing. And killer gameplay can be frustrating.
but Adept achievements are really not that important, completely optional and with the current grade system you should attempt them after grade reset, as it’s easier to pip on low grades.
6 -
Good call!
1 -
Nothing to do with grades man lol.
MMR carries across after reset so it won't matter.
2 -
It still has something to do with it as you don’t even need a 4K on low grades to double pip. MMR should go down for the individual killer if you actually perform not good enough according to the MMR system.
6 -
I 4k'd one of them and 3k'd another with hatch so yeah I kinda do.
Look I don't really care about adepts as much as I care about the overall frustration that this game has.
It's the only game I've ever seen where once you get remotely decent at it, it then becomes and absolute sweat fest and isn't even remotely fun after playing at higher ranks for a little bit. Just makes me cringe to think that it's been like this for so long and nothing has been done.
6 -
Dont you know? Achievements and Trophies should be acquired by merely playing a match without any difficulty.
7 -
Nothing to do with it, the adept system should be fair for both sides and it's far from it.
4 -
This thread is a perfect example on why people uninstall. Yikes
Tbh, if the mmr worked like it's supposed to. You know, playing the first times with a new killer gets you easier survivors...
But it doesn't. So people either have to endure a pretty long lose streak (I remember someone losing over 50 matches in a row with a new killer), or they abandon the idea of learning something new.
11 -
The OP just stated a couple of comments up that they 4k and 3k in the matches though, I think adept should be made easier but I honestly still enjoy playing killer a little more than survivor personally because If I lose it's on me as a killer but as a survivor it's frustrating when you get multiple brainless teammates who think they're a god at the game but they're in reality hot garbage, they play like fools and then turn around and flame everyone else on the team even though they're t bagging and going down in a matter of seconds
3 -
Survivors are the biggest threat to other survivors.
That's why the pure kill based mmr or balancing doesn't work.
6 -
that moment when you are so quick to cry you think your gonna be good at one of the highest skill level killers in 3 matches
6 -
And in my opinion it's why competitive tournaments don't work, the win conditions make for boring to watch games that don't reflect normal dead by daylight gameplay for killers and survivors at that skill level, alot of people complain about balance without realizing this isn't supposed to be a super serious game it's a party game where your team has to rely on each other, you could be the best survivor in the world and still die because your team sucks.
1 -
Fr especially with oni
6 -
See you next update
5 -
Very unlikely.
Have fun with your dying game though.
1 -
People leaving the game cause of some stupid achievements. Its becoming really sad.
6 -
Nah it's not just that, it's a combination of many things but yes I agree the achievements are stupid so why not just fix them?
It's just become an extremely and ever increasingly frustrating game so I'm just not gonna endure that anymore.

Tournaments are heavily regulated. Simply because the game is so unbalanced. A tournament with no restrictions would result in a total victory for survivors.
In my opinion, there should be regular official tournaments, like in other pvp games. The devs could then take the data to balance the game accordingly.
This is the only pvp game that doesn't get balanced around high level plays, but instead low levels.
Introduce a casual mode for people that want "relaxing" matches with laxer rules. But balance the ranked mode around serious gameplay.

Honestly, I think you are having such a horrible time specifically because you are going for adepts. Finding a survivor lobby that is both bad enough and cooperative enough is like finding a needle in the haystack unless you are low mmr. After Sadako, I convinced myself to go for them for all iconic film killers and the ONLY reason I got Freddy, who was high mmr, was because they turned off mmr for one of the early tests.

I am cause I'm not worried about achievements.
6 -
If you aren't enjoying it sure play something else.
What I don't get though is why people put so much importance on getting meaningless game achievements.
3 -
Good decision.

If you play normally and do not focus on getting a merciless killer victory it will just happen naturally. Eventually, the right map, circumstances, and survivor combo will happen for you. Take a break after every match. Taking a break from the game is also valid.
3 -
Why do you do Adept in the first place if it annoys you that much?
For real its just a digital number, why do you go through that frustration and then complain about it in the first place? Will never get that I guess. I have 7k Hours almost in dbd and dont even have 1 single adept cuz I simply dont see any reason to go through such a unecessary and annoying procedure.
Besides that yes Killer is still to this day very frustrating and sadly the devs dont really care about it.
4 -
So by fixing them you mean make it easier, correct?
Cuz if so, I disagree. Adept should feel like a challenge and also even more challenging if it is on a new killer you have never played. I can't speak for Oni but I do play Twins consistently, and if I expected to get adept on match # 3, I would think there is something wrong with me.
This is the general problem with killer players. They seek a more "fun" less frustrating experience, when in reality this translates to "easier".
2 -
It may have been a brash reaction - but overall, I understand where you're coming from.
Bad matches as survivor - or in general with other games - can be a bit frustrating, but nothing too major. Usually it's a bad teammate or a lame glitch, maybe a mistake I wish didn't happen... the usual gamer stuff.
When killer matches are bad, I curse Behavior for not following through on Game Design 101, or at least doing their due diligence with updates.
I'd be a lot more forgiving towards their painfully slow pace of production, AND the game as a whole, if they actually tweaked perks and reworked systems to make the game less demanding and frustrating.
I've never felt truly HELPLESS as a survivor. Sure, some games killers can be scummy. But never HELPLESS.
As killer, there are many - MANY times that I feel completely and utterly HELPLESS to catch and stop survivors. Especially when I take off-meta builds.

Spent $8 on it, no big deal. I'd rather stop playing than deal with that ######### game now tbh.
1 -
Bro im sorry but I laughed so hard at the beginning of this post because I understand your pain and how quick it took for you to quit
1 -
Agreed, the amountof times you feel like there's nothng you can do no matter how well you play because gens just keep popping is just plain stupid.
One of the many reasons I've quit.
2 -
Well it's either they make them easier so that they match how easy it is for survivor or rework the system completely.
Either way the killer adept system is a joke lol.
1 -
True this!
2 -
It's not the only reason I quit but it just highlights how stupid the game really is when something so simple is so flawed.

Sure it can be frustrating to play killer, espeically if you aren't experienced with them. I don't think the change needs to be, *because I can't 4k, 100% of the time on a newly picked up killer, BHVR should buff killers to the max, so there literally isn't a reason to play survivor". MMR is in my opinion the big frustration of the game. One game you get completely new survivor that have never played the game, and the next you get the top four survivors in the game. There is no middle ground right now.

the temper tantrums you guys throw every other day is hilarious
"Well if i can't win THEN IM NOT GUNNA PLAY ANYMORE" type of energy.
Having been a preschool teacher for 7 years, i can safely assure you- toddlers have better anger management skills than this
7 -
15 killers in queue for 2226 survivors during peak hours in the USA 😊
Continue to troll, you are participating to kill this game 😊
Soon there will be 3 killers for 5000 survivors 😊
1 -
Nice passive aggressive comment. If he gonna quit then he should quit without announcing it on a forum.
4 -
Temper tantrums, right...
"If this hospital isn't going to give me what I need, I'M GOING SOMEWHERE ELSE!"
That's a temper tantrum, right?
"I bought tickets to the theme park and you won't let me on any rides? I'M GETTING A REFUND!"
Temper tantrum.
"You're docking my pay because you mismanaged your own company? I'M QUITTING!"
Yet another temper tantrum.
You see, when people have a legitimate complaint and plan on acting on it - just call it a temper tantrum!
No complaints are viable if you just excuse them away!
1 -
W-why wouldn't he announce it in a forum?
Isn't this exactly what forums were made for?
What, are we only supposed to talk about sunshine and roses here, not negative experiences or people leaving the game because of a certain creative direction from the developers?
0 -
Did you REALLY just liken a GDANG VIDEO GAME to illnesses, concerts, paychecks etc?
if participation in something is completely contingent on weather or not they win, its a temper tantrum.
your logic is somehow worse than my preschool students, yikes.

Should I announce I'm not having fun cause I'm not good with nurse in three games? He shouldn't assume that a couple of games make you good with said killer. There a reason why adept are considered a challenge especially with some killers. He should just play something else considering he getting burnt out from playing the game. I usually just switch games as well.
2 -
The game doesn’t “become a sweatfest”, you just are frustrated once you start having to play harder to get 4ks. Nothing is forcing you to “sweat”, play the game however you want, but it’s unreasonable to expect to consistently get 4ks against people your own skill level if you’re not playing as hard as they are.
4 -
So you're giving up and quitting an entire game because you can't get an adept that serves no purpose in game or life? Ok
4 -
There are not enough killers for them to be matched against survivors from their skill level.
So high SBMM survivors are matched against average MMR killer. The game is already impossible for high MMR killers against high MMR survivors.
So imagine for an average killer that just want to play for fun : 1 hook and the doors are opened. Wow what a good game.
4 -
Having a surplus of survivors makes it more like to be matched against ones your own MMR, not less.
1 -
Nope as all survivors must have the same queue times. Think before writing a statement.
1 -
Nope, most killers go against survivors that are matched with them normally, the number of survivors who must be backfilled is much smaller than the number who aren’t. Think before you make a statement.
3 -
No and devs have explained how the soft cap works.
If the MM was waiting for a high 3k MMR killer to match it with 3k MMR survivors, the 3k MMR survivors would have 2 hours queue times.
The MM match the survivors with the first killer available and as there are not enough killers they match high MMR survivors with average killers. That's why they refuse to show you the numbers.
Just read about it, do your own research. MM favor queue time instead of fairness, BHVR admitted it.
Atm in peak hours there are between 7 and 15 killers for 2300 survivors, it has been leaked. So stop to think you are smarter than anyone while you do not even know what you are talking about.
Moreover, as smart as you are, one fact surely didn't escape you : strong SWF wins 90% of their games, ranking up higher and higher to an infinite MMR score.
Killers cannot win against those SWFs that are numerous at high MMR, killers are blocked to a certain MMR score ceiling.
It is obvious that the pool of ultra high MMR survivor is infinitely higher than the pool of ultra high MMR killers.
Sometimes i face unbeatable SWFs and then the game later i face baby survivors. The SBMM just favors low queue times now, that's all.

I am not sure what you mean by "Match how easy it is for survivor..."
IMO you are comparing apples to oranges. A survivor's gameplay =/= A killer's gameplay. The problem is you don't understand how RNG heavy this game is. In that you could be playing a more casual build and go against a strong-meta build even when your intentions were not to try hard.
So once you understand that you know that slotting your 3 adept perks which may not be the strongest, let alone optimal. You can't really turn around and say well I went against the strongest stuff and all I was trying to get is adept. Especially when it is your 3rd match ever as that killer.
Do I think that because of that maybe they should have other ways to incentivize playing killer and maybe tie the adept through that? Sure, maybe. At this point though if you are just a casual player Survivor OR Killer be ready to encounter the opposite of casual.
