Playing as solos is PERFECTLY fine.
Before anyone says anything I'm not on about my escape rate, I understand that's not common for everyone.
However if we exclude:
- - DC/Rage Quits
- - Survivors giving up on hook
- - Survivors farming challenges
- - Survivors walking round/hiding around the edge of the map.
What is there actually left to complain about? If you really believe you need to be in communication to play well solo Q isnt the issue... it's you. I'd go as far as saying you're being abit entitled and expecting easy escapes.
Now, without a doubt the things listed definitely happen in solo Q and they're definitely issues HOWEVER, these are player issues not because of 0 communication.
No matter the buffs you give solo Q those issues will still occur, whether its people farming challenges, giving up or just straight up not playing... all buffing solos will do in worsen the balance.
While I do believe survivors should be able to see each others perks in the lobby I dont believe they need extra things built in or added as base.
The issues at hand should be fixed, while they arent all easy fixes we can easily do harsher bans and match quitters with quitters. As for those that arent trying to progress the game have a system to track and penalise them, maybe an AFK kick system would help too.

SoloQ is almost perfectly fine if Survivors just knew how to play, yes

The summary we needed.

I always have fun when I play survivor, solo or not. The people that complain about it are the ones that screech about their team being the issue and of course, never them, in every other multiplayer title. No self awareness in them.
6 -
If MMR works and makes me team with good mates, yeah solo-q is fine.
But when i play with baby team against full meta-killers, no it is not good. It's just pain.
11 -
That's not a solo issue that's a player issue... buffing solos isnt suddenly going to make them better at chases. Edit: for example making them see perks/icons of other players wont change that
Sounds like your expecting to escape too much, I'm sure your team isnt that far off your own skill every game.
What makes them a baby team exactly? Because I know you find perks like tinkerer too strong so it cant be that, is it their chases? Because alot can affect that and dont necessarily make them babys

I am 2000 hours players. I am facing with +1000 hours killers (This fair because i should not face with new players). But i have 100 - 200 hours survivors. This is not happening every time but it is not rare either.
And i don't except escape every game, i don't mind it actually. But i should have chance at least.

all buffing solos will do in worsen the balance
It's hard to balance the game when SWF teams have a whole crapton of information that solo queue doesn't get without sacrificing perk slots. How do you balance killers around that?
In general, yes, the problem with solo queue isn't necessarily a lack of info, it's getting stuck with teammates who don't know what they're doing or just don't care. It'd be great if MMR worked and put me with people who took even an ounce of aggro instead of hiding and then dying on their first hook because they let everyone else die first. Instead, I'm just... not playing right now. That's the only solution available to me, because MMR has been too busted to work around despite months of trying.
Solo queue would be fine if it weren't for the teammates. I'm hoping for bots in the future, personally.

Hours mean very little, while it's a rough idea sadly it's all not that accurate. While I'm pretty sure you're a decent survivor (I know you're more casual which is fine, I know I'm not) but I have a friend with 4k hours, hes horrendous as survivor 😂 I avoid playing with him on DBD lol (because hes bad and unfair for the killers)
But the game requires weaker players, whether they're 500hr or 2k hours, if everyone is good the killer has no real chance

It's fine if you're a killer main
10 -
I completely agree, I dont do swf much and whenever I do it's a duo and the difference is insane even if your swf isnt all strong players.
I was someone who wanted an action debuff to swf, even a small % depending on the size but apparently that's not fair and punishes people playing with friends even if theure getting extra advantages.
(I just dont think people want balance, I feel they play one side and hate on the other)
1 -
So what you're saying is solo queue is fine if you exclude all of its problems?
Gee, who knew?
18 -
I'm actually having more fun playing solo recently than Survive With Friends, I don't know why and can't explain it (Maybe it's the fact I've been getting really good teammates recently and killers who don't just face-camp the first guy to death and then give up after when they've realized they blew the entire game to do that.)
0 -
Hours mean very little, you are right but i never saw good survivors with 200 hours (if they are not snurfing or second account etc.). I am not blaming them ofcourse, they are new at game. Problem is matchmaking.
This is reason i am playing killer more but is killer better? Hell no, it is sweat fest.
0 -
So why do people talk about buffing solo Q and completely ignore these issues and jump straight to built in perks and coms then?
0 -
I dunno it's rare I get low hour survivors unless iv waited 10mins for a queue. I dont mind killer most of the time, unless it was those tests and then my queues and experience was so horrible I'd uninstall before playing that again, even survivor was bland during the tests
0 -
Could be a range of things from your friends mmr, their servers, time etc.
Personally I like solo as I feel the experience is more random and a surprise, like my team running different perks, seeing a range of killers etc.
I feel it feels more sweaty in a group, people making callous etc. Plus depending on your friends some can complain alot, I dont have time for that lol
0 -
Because you can't fix the behavior of players with buffs or nerfs.
1 -
There really isn't such thing as "solo" survivor either. You have 3 other teammates in there with you to help with rescues and gens. You don't need to be on comms to run rings around most killers.
0 -
"If you really believe you need to be in communication to play well solo Q isnt the issue.. its you."
lmao
4 -
You're really pushing too hard on this narrative. It was debatable in the first thread, but now you're overplaying your hand.
7 -
Yeah Im a killer main too
0 -
Exactly, to be perfectly honest, with how bad survivors are... I genuinely understand the crowd that believes the game is killer sided. You get 2 or 3 of those bozos on your team and even the most inept killers are going to get you. There are people who play this game as a job and I would hate to have them as teammates. And naturally they are the ones complaining about their teammates because they somehow lack a basic understanding even after 2k hours and a heavy survivor bias to boot.
I would hate to say it, but all the killer nerfs are almost justified when you consider the average skill of the average player. It is unfortunate that good players have the deck stacked against them, but dare I say it is a necessary evil for a functional game.
3 -
So you do believe you're a terrible survivor unless you can speak to 3 other players?
0 -
Yeah god forbid someone has a different opinion or experience to you. Sorry I wont lie and twist things to suit a single side.
Nothing I said in this post was wrong, probably why instead of debating a topic you always result to being a meme.
0 -
Being honest though, most people just hate on those players that dont do anything and tend to hide. I'm not sure what you can do to encourage that... it's like people farming or quitting, they just do it regardless but that dont mean a solo player is bad.
1 -
I don't have a problem with solo queue as long as matchmaking works or nobody is doing a challenge.
0 -
Bob on though aren't I.
0 -
This for me today.
MMR is just trolling - too good killers or bad team or very good team with bad killers.
If i play killers i get stomped three times and then get clearly below average players.
It is always completely in the wrong direction.
0 -
You never answered my question though, so many people including in this post truly believe solo Q is weak and not because of the reasons I said yet they dont give any other reason...
Yes the things I listed are issues and you're right no buffs or nerfs can fix that, yet why are SO many people asking for solo buffs? Built in perks etc.?
All I said is those issues need to be fixed and not buffing solo and I get people meme or call me a killer main lol
0 -
I'm not questioning the difference of your experience. I'm questioning its authenticity. Starting with your highly suspicious claim of having an escape rate in soloq of 72.5% 142/200.
Twisting and lying to suit a narrative is exactly what I suspect you're doing, specifically to argue against any sort of soloq buffs.
And I don't even know what you're blabbering about being a meme, let alone always. You should rather focus on yourself resorting to that kind of strawmen, which ironically highlights your attempt to weasel out of debating that you subcounsciously projected on me instead.
8 -
Just because you dont believe my outcome dont mean it's a lie, you're basically saying anything you disagree with is a lie. Making everything a pointless discussion with you.
And yes I dont believe solo Q needs a buff, I listed the issues with it and none of those are gonna be fixed by the buffs everyone wants such as built in perks or coms.
And no every time I make a post that isnt your experience you try belittle it. None of your comments have ever added to the posts you just call people liars or assume.
0 -
Tell you what though I'll give you the benefit of the doubt. I'll ignore all your comments on my posts belittling them and I'll discuss this topic with you which is the actual point of discussions.
What is the issue with solo Q? You cant use the examples I listed, what else makes solo Q bad? And how would you change it to fix the issue you find with solo Q.
I'm off to get some sleep, I assume your reply would be matchmaking. Which I have also stated in my posts escapes is a terrible balance point, and usually people claim they have bad players because of the reasons I listed in the OP. I'll see and reply to your part of the discussion when I get free time tomorrow.
1 -
you're basically saying anything you disagree with is a lie
No, I'm saying I suspect you're lying about numbers to fit an agenda.
And yes I dont believe solo Q needs a buff
Well, at least you admit to that.
And no every time I make a post that isnt your experience you try belittle it.
I have no clue again what you're blabbering about. I don't follow you around on the forum. I referenced you in this thread because you literally made similar claims in another thread recently. Maybe don't spam the same suspicious argument in instances so close together and I wouldn't have noticed.
None of your comments have ever added to the posts you just call people liars or assume.
Never happened. Strawmen again.
5 -
Obviously!
0 -
Because adding built-in perks or other benefits to solo queue can help make up for the dice roll of getting good or bad teammates.
3 -
Agreed, solo q is fine when you have teammates of equal skill level that are committed to seeing the game through to the end.
But, due to the reasons you name, this is obviously not always the case. The games with competent teammates are night and day to the ones without.
3 -
Seems like you didnt want to discuss this topic like I offered, this is why I say your comments on my posts dont add nothing to the discussion because when given the option to discuss you dont but you happily call me a liar?
I have no secret agenda and I dont lie, all my posts have been consistent and I actually have posts asking for the game to track stats and allow us to link our accounts so you can see the facts. Also if you truly believe 3E-1D and 2E-2D every so often is so unbelievable I dunno what to tell you... theres nothing I can do to change your mind.
At least I admit that? This post was pretty clear and I have older posts stating that I dont, you act like I'm hiding stuff when iv been straight forward with every single post...
And I'm allowed to create multiple topics, the forums are to discuss and share experiences and I'm doing that. This post was because so many people say solo Q sucks and I highlighted why that is.
0 -
The worst experiences i geneally find is unhooking with a killer nearby and no B/T. You can't control that and it just generally results in your own death.
1 -
So you're saying solos need built in perks etc to buff them for reasons that arent tied to perks?
How is built in perks gonna stop DCs or help with that? This is what I mean that doesnt make sense, you're just making survivors that dont DC stronger for no reasons.
Do you get where I'm coming from? Like yes those issues are real, but built in perks dont stop them existing
0 -
So do you agree we should try find fixes for those issues instead of just slapping on built in perks/info for the sake of it?
0 -
The problem is the MMR. Its trash and non existent, the day the devs do a proper MM soloQ will be more tolerable. Its the only reason why its so miserable most of the times.
1 -
Do you mean an mmr based on more skillful actions? Like chases or stuff that happen in the match over just escapes?
0 -
Not the killers mains saying that solo is fine...
Okay, I'll take your word lmao 😭
6 -
Yeah these comments are the annoying ones. God forbid I say something is strong or okay for survivor I must be a killer main oh jeez...
No. I play far more survivor, it's sad the devs dont allowed stats to be tracked so comments like this can just be shut down.
0 -
Always killer mains posting about how solo is fine and how they escape 100% of their matches in solo q with no meta perks. Odd isn't it?
4 -
You seem to care so much about stats, like the ones you made up on the other thread, but proof of those stats? Nowhere to be seen.
I have 5,338 hours currently in game, more than half of those are solo Q. I like to believe I am above average when it comes to being skillful. And no, solo Q is not fine.
I'm sorry that you feel so threatened that solo Q might get a few buffs like it needs, because it will make you get less free 4ks as killer.
6 -
Completely.
1 -
i cant disagree with the OP, but its not a fact for most of the playerbase. Solo is a problem for players who are not that good in looping or know how to counter most killers, and sinds he biggest playerbase excist out of these kind of players ( me included) solo is horrible. The fact remains that every player killer or survivor is not willing to adjust there game play when they find out what kind of team or killer there facing.....and this should be clear in the first few minutes of a game.
Easy fix would be to punish players who end a game to fast gen rushing or stompng solos should not be rewarded, and when you take away bp when players do decide to play like that....it could solve some gameplay.
Nice example i dont only suck at survivor, but as a killer i'm not your otz prodigy....and i could still 4k some teams i'm facing easy.
but i decide to make the game as fun as possible for al players involved, and the fun part is...no kills, 6 to 8 hooks in the end, and we al got between 20 and 30k bp every game, Killers who stomp leave with around 12k?

If your teammates are experienced and not prone to pettiness and emotional outbursts, it can be pretty fun even if we all die in the end.

I would enjoy SoloQ if BHVR hadn't designed such a dumb SBMM. I don't care if I get out alive, but I have to make it my goal so I don't sink into the abyss of MMR. Which induces a feeling of frustration towards my teammates who DC / Suicide or not knowing how to play correctly because I can play the best I can, I lose in MMR by their fault, no matter the quality of my runs. I played a game this morning, two have DC against Nurse. And I have to accept seeing my MMR go down because of them.
The logic of BHVR will always elude me.
