Dead Hard is basically base kit lol.
Remember when they nerfed Ruin to the groud because they said it was being used in 90% of high rank matches? Well now Dead Hard is used by 99% of survivors in the game to the point where it feels like it's pretty much base kit, so when is the nerf coming? It doesn't feel good when you outplay and mindgame the hell out of survivors in loops but you know you can't get them because they're just gonna press E to safety. Survivors take insane amount of risks in loops because they know Dead Hard is gonna save them if the killer gets too close. Basically "press E to fix mistakes". The amount of lives this one perk saves everyday is crazy, imagine what the kill rate would be like if this get out of jail free card wasn't there. It also makes survivors completely immune to any killer powers, trapper's traps, doctor's shock therapy, huntress hatchets and everything else. Either nerf it or give the killer a perk that causes the exhausted status effect for longer. Reward skillful play! Don't give one side get out of jail free cards and press E to win perks.

I will have to hard disagree with Ruin being nerfed to the ground.
27 -
ruin didn't get nerfed into the ground?
12 -
There are times a survivor gone into 2nd hook stage because 2 other survivors have to commit their Gen to complete while the last guy being chased. No one wants to go for unhook at 80% Gen and come back with whole Gen reset.
Alone the possibly of giving Killer a free hook. Ruin still stands high tier.
3 -
Old Ruin made the skill checks red, a good skill check caused gen regression and a great skill check gave no bonus progress. Now Ruin doesn't affect you unless you leave the gens you're working on.
2 -
This wasn't a post about mainly Ruin though, it was about Dead Hard.
1 -
And... For me was easy to make great skill check... I don't understand your complain... Are u alright?? Maybe just leave game and find another project to play?? Cuz DH is easy to Bite off, and only bad killer complain about DH...
7 -
Okay survivor main.
16 -
Except it isn't, survivors still have to dedicate a perk slot to run it 🤡
Also a lot of survivors still like to use the other exhaustion perks available. Yes DH is strong, arguably the best exhaustion perk due to the invuln but at the same time there are ways to counter it and exhaustion in general.
3 -
I cannot believe that there are still people who thought the Ruin change was a nerf.
11 -
The last statistics say dh was used less than b&c.
1 -
Only inexperienced killers complain about dead hard. I play both sides and I couldn’t care less about dead hard.
I see so many people play killer and they often do not play optimal. There are many opportunities to bait out dead hard, but sadly most people are not concentrated when playing killer and then come here to complain about the perk because they think that was the reason they lost. It’s not the reason, you need to learn to play.
1 -
That's a fluke, I'd say. Ruin is nowhere near as viable as people make it seem. Those scenarios you said do happen, but it's not that drastic, and destroying the Ruin can just take all that pressure away. Hexes can be the most useless or most game-carrying perks based on the rng of the totem spawn, and the survivors' motivation to look for totems.
1 -
You can not bait out a smartly used dead hard. Which is for distance to a pallet or window.
Sure you can maybe "bait out" someone who was caught out in the open with their pants down. But dh wouldn't of saved them anyways. Not to mention validation makes the perk even better as a panic "whoops I ######### up" button.

and i do feel quite the same with corrupt intervention wich is in every game, did they nerf it? no. and the same goes with dead man switch being used in all high mmr games, did they touch it? no. i see the same loadout in every high mmr game all the time, or at least 2 perks non stop... did they touch it? of ocurse not. so dont touch survivors perks neither.
1 -
corrupt goes away after 2mins.
DMS is only really strong on high mobility killers or artist. And even then you can easily counter it by splitting up on gens or letting go early if you think you'll get pushed off so it doesn't get blocked.
0 -
was i talking about the strenght? no... (also 2 minutes is a lot of time, especially early game when killer is at its worst, massive help to find survivors and start now using pain resonance wich is dumb but is what it is) i was talking about usage, and he talked about dead hard being in all games wich is not only false according to data is i think not even top 3, those were Self care ( lol ) and bt not impressed why considering most killers love to camp hooks.

It basically is basekit. You have to play around it so much, you're conditioned to it. So any time you have a survivor 360ing you or just pushing into you, you have to wait a second to respect Dead Hard, and then you have to wait a second time to swing in case they were baiting you. And that can sometimes lead to a survivor making it to safety via a pallet or window which they otherwise should not have made. It's a perk just like DS, BT, and UB which forces the killer to change how they play even when those perks aren't in play, for fear that they are in play, because they're just that game changing.
5 -
LMAO, Ruin is basically stronger than before.
But "Nerfed into the ground" 😂
2 -
Again.. it’s like Dead Hard threads are coming up 100x in 1 week 🙄
Killers also have Scourge hook/DMS/Corrupt almost every match, but you see us survivor mains complain about that?
3 -
Guys can you focus on the topic on hand and not cry about the ruin comment?
5 -
Yes. A lot actually, especially when it comes to PR/DMS
Ruin was buffed
3 -
Ikr. It's because the vast majority of the forum are killer mains.
1 -
Gotta love it when survivor mains say "just bait it out" That just shows how less they play killer. Sure baiting it out will work when survivors are out in the open, but how are you gonna bait it out when they just Dead Hard to a pallet or window every time they screw up lol.
3 -
Those saying that killers have scourge hooks and DMS, atleast the killer has to earn that hook by downing and hooking the survivor to activate the perk. Unlike Dead Hard which is basically press E to outplay.
5 -
Ikr, they're just shifting the focus from Dead Hard to Ruin, on purpose lol.
3 -
Remember when they nerfed Ruin to the groud because they said it was being used in 90% of high rank matches?
that’s not true though. Besides the fact Ruin wasn’t nerfed but reworked and is arguably better now, they have given their reasons as to why they changed Ruin and it was definitely not because of the usage in high rank matches (and in high rank matches old ruin didn’t really have a significant effect anyways)
as to Dead Hard, they have confirmed they will take a closer look at it. Whatever comes out of it we will see soon(tm). And since it’s BHVR that may take a while.
4 -
Whether you agree or not, the dev’s logic was clear: overused things get nerfed. OP is right to point that out
2 -
Source?
4 -
Perk usage wasn't the single reason for the ruin nerf
The devs have confirmed they're looking into changing Dead Hard
0 -
Ruin was nerfed because it was too punishing for new players, not because it was too prevalent.
That said, any perk that is in >75% of matches should really be in line for a nerf.
2 -
You forget by this, that there always will be 75%+ perk*, on each side. It is sad, but human nature works like this.
Most people don't want to spend much time thinking on what is best in general, or what is best for themself, they just want to adapt to the easiest and fastest thing possible.
That is boring, but it is also unavoidable.
Edit: And that counts for both sides.
*If Bhvr moves not one day forward to a perk system that does not supports double, or trible perks of the same perks.
0 -
And? So what? Is that not the point of employing people to balance perks?
If something is overused it should be nerfed, and give other things a chance to be seen more. A constantly shifting meta is much more enjoyable and better for long term game health than what we have in DBD; the same meta for 4 years straight, and the only new things that get used are because they're added in an obscenely broken state.
Look at any basically other live service game, like MOBAs for instance, and you'll see that those that balance well and keep the meta healthy and changing are much better, more accessible and generally more enjoyable than those that just depend on powercreeping existing metas with new additions.

Great video lol
It's a shame I don't have Bubba to vent sometimes.

So is BBQ, your point?
A perk being used a lot just shows most other perks just aren't as good, and why would someone not use the best they are able to? To not hurt someone's fee fees?
0 -
Dead hard is a perk that we love to use and hate when people use against us. I don't think It needs a nerf, I don't matter too much about how strong the perk is. Yes, is really boring when you can't do nothing about It and the surv uses, but when you can forces the surv to uses the dead hard and then you kill her, gave us a good sensation. I love and deslike this perk. Again, I can't think about a nerf, what could change in the perk etc. It's too unique to be nerfed.
0 -
Change a perk just because too many people use It is ridiculous. But it's just my opinion
2 -
A Dead Hard nerf can't come soon enough
2 -
You bring bbq for comparison and then go on and talk about using "the best"? In terms of tracking and aura reading there are a myriad of better perks than bbq without 6 counters. (Btw dh has only one and that only when it's not used most efficiently for distance since then there is NOTHING the killer can do about it.)
Bbq is probably used for the BP by the majority, dh for the third health state. Which of those two had the bigger impact Ina a trial?
1 -
By that logic I'll switch BBQ for ruin.
Dead Hard gives a "third health state" because it extends chases, and ruin adds another gen because it is a gen slowdown, by that same logic.
Should ruin be nerfed? No. I don't think everything needs to be nerfed to useless status like some of you people.

Earn it by pressing m1 before

B&c

I never use dead hard, not that it's a bad perk I just prefer sprint burst or lithe over dead hard.

And I would answer similar, can dh be completely made useless aka the totem be permanently broken?
Do survivor have to always play as if it MAY be in play like killer have to do for dh, bt, ub, DS and a few others?
The ONLY killer perk were THAT argument holds is NOED and there is enough flaming there already and I say delete NOED for all I care but balance the rest please. Survivor have half a dozen phantom perks a killer has to play around and can have 10+pseudo perks with comms. Both things killer can't. So maybe stop comparing stuff 1:1.
1 -
Stopped caring when you complained about not knowing if a survivor has BT or DS.
Those 2 perks can easily be useless if the killer does not camp and tunnel, and before you say "they're strats" I really don't care. You can use your "strats" but then don't be surprised when there's perks in play that help counter those same "strats".
I don't see it being an issue killers and survivors not knowing which perks the other side is using. What do you want? For all perks to be visible in the lobby or what?
1 -
Okay you two, now please explain to me again how a dead hard for distance is baited out?
Aka the dead hard getting used outside of the sphere of influence of the killer to gain 3meter=5seconds distance to the killer so they can safely run additional 15-20meter to the next pallet or window and start another (possibly chainable) loop?
Normal dh to dodge a hit is baitable and can be messed up. DH for distance halfway running towards killer shack or similar isn't.
3 -
No but for people like you stopping to compare a perk without any downside and ridiculous strength to perks with multiple soft or one hard built-in counter mechanics.
No perk and I mean none come close to dh in terms of being risk free and without any form of downside and moreso being ON FUCKNG DEMAND.
Btw I personally don't have a problem with bt, ub or DS since i never used any of those "strategies" after the first year since release but for example DS was (and bt used for body blocking still is kinda) weaponized by aggressively staying on gens or going for saves in the killers face. But other killer player that WANT to ein still have to keep all the mentioned stuff in mind and the game isn't balanced for all of it plus i don't see stuff like that on survivor side with the exception of NOED.
1 -
A lot of perks don't have any downside. Can you explain what the downside of bamboozle is, per example? Doesn't it shorten chases quite a lot, specially in places like shack where the window is really important? And I'm ok with that.
1 -
Not true. I am a Survivor main and I reckon I can loop better than the majority of other Survivors I play with in general. Take away their DH and it's no contest. I am waiting for the DH nerf as people like myself (decent loopers not reliant on DH) won't even notice it's gone.
0 -
It was both, as both were listed reasons the devs gave for the change. Whether one held more weight than the other was irrelevant, as '80% use in red ranks' was still a reason given.
Which does open the devs up to hypocrisy, since the same logic can be used for anything else, including survivor perks.
