What would you think of a "basekit SWF" for survivors?
The problem with buffing killers is that low-level soloQ survivors are already getting dominated by a below average Killer nearly every match, so a buff would turn a near stomp into a full stomp every match.
Compare that to high-level SWFs who can toy with 92% of the killer cast, while the killer needs to be hyperfocused and very experienced in order to win without luck involved, where 2-3 mild mistakes can make a 3 man escape almost guaranteed.
While this conundrum persists, there's no way to cleanly balance any perk or any killer perfectly. And while we might not be able to completely solve it, we can certainly lessen it by making SWF "Basekit":
- One of the biggest advantages a SWF has over soloQ is unhook scenarios. The second a survivor is on a hook, a SWF can easily coordinate a plan for the unhooker, while a soloq survivor is forced to run a perk like kindred, which gives information a team already has access to. making kindred basekit would be a solution.
- Perks like Well make it, BT and DS can be comunicated, while a soloQ survivor needs to just guess if they have the better perks for the situation. you might want to tell someone that you should boon, because you have shadowstep AND coh, while he may only have coh. but neither one of you see that. showing the perks other survivors are bringing in the lobby will certainly help this problem, if not fix it outright for experienced soloQ survs.
- In a team, you always call out if the killer is starting a chase with you or not. you always call out if the killer is commiting to you or not. you always call out if you need some help or not. in SoloQ you basically have to guess whats going on. A change that would help here, is to have an icon similar to the obsession, where you have information if shes/hes in a chase or not. Combined with the terror radius of a killer, survivors could read out very essential info, that is already granted to a swf.
There are a lot more Problems and changes one could consider, but these would help bridge the gap a little, while not overwhelming new players. One change that would bridge the gap almost completely would be a VC, but thats a whole different discussion.

Take that enduring perk off your avatar survivor, we see you.

I agree that the solo experience needs a lot of work. There's way too much guesswork and power loss involved for what should be basic information.
There's an argument to be made that killers shouldn't need thousands of hours to compete at a baseline level, but the same can be said of solo survivors.
I think the skill gap between the worst players and the best players is too wide on the survivor side. This was a glaring issue during the MMR tests. Matchmaking has to be a lot tighter or tools need to be in place that shrink the skill gap a bit without breaking the game. When I say skill, I don't just mean looping. I think the skill gap in positioning and decision making is arguably wider.

Communication is hardly overrated in a SWF. The most advantage is the knowledge of their own skill and the ability to erase skill differences that screw most of the games as solos. as long as all survs are on the same level, they can asses the situation by themselves. but that can only be fixed by a proper matchmaking, which is still basically years away.
and those highly-skilled SWF are barely existent. those are probably comp players, and those barely even play public matches. and be honest, its by far more cxommon to find god tier killer players in punblic then comp survivors.

The only thing they need to add is a quick-message radial to the game. So that solo survivors, and SWF's with randoms can communicate with each other. Things like "The Killer is near me", and "I'm working on a generator" etc is fine. It removes the need for voice comms that would just be annoying, and restricts harassment to just the quick messages.
Can even have a 5-6 second cooldown so when players try to spam it's tolerable.

As a PC player I would be fine with this because I could more than likely program the buttons to my Razer mouse to say what I wanted with ease but for a console player that might be difficult to make work correctly because they would have to stop whatever action they were doing or have to try and do both at once just to tell you their on a gen or in chase

Id like some level of communication and coordination by default, such as being able to say youre going for the lament configuration. Then from there we can make changes to killers in response. I think that'd be best for everybody

Apparently, they are going to work on icons (in the future... but we don't know how close yet) so that solo q survivors know what their teammates are doing. So you're on the right track. I think helping solo q survivors to coordinate on hook saves is probably the most important matter. Maybe making kindred base kit would be better than getting BT base kit "to close that gap".

They would just need to make the radial not cancel any actions.

They could make the icons have a overlay, like if you're on a gen your icon will have a gen picture with it and if you're in a chase it could glow a certain color to let everyone know the killer is on you even something small like that would do the job

That would be too strong. It's too much free information for Survivor that only diminishes what's left of atmosphere and immersion in the game. It should be up to the players to share information, and failing to do so is a mistake on their part.

I'd be perfectly fine with it. It would mean that the majority of Killers in the game would become stronger through much needed buffs.

i Dont know, but, Corrupt intervention should be a killer base kit, with 3 minutes and not 2.
The real problem is SoloQ. If you make strong every killer for balance with SWF, they will be literally OP against Solos. SoloQ needs more help, and its done, you can thinks about buffs on average killers.

I'll say it every time a "buff solo queue" thread pops up: I have zero interest in making solo queue anything close to a swf with comms. Swf with comms is the most unenjoyable experience killers can play against. Why would killers want every match to become even more difficult due to every survivor now being able to better coordinate? SWFs will not be nerfed, corrupt intervention will not become basekit, COH still exists, and killers will not be buffed to blight/nurse level. Buffing solo queue only makes it worse for killers. No thank you.

I agree that all those things are what makes playing killer more of a challenge, but I disagree it's a SWF issue. I find it to be a skill issue much more than a premade group issue. Most times you play swf with someone, you are both probably around the same skill level, maybe a bit higher or lower, but more than likely not by much. This means you have a much higher chance of having "good" teammates, who can coordinate and make smart plays. On the other hand you have solo q, which is the wild west when it comes to getting teammates. Some can be 5k hour vets, others could be 1 hour players on a free trial. If you get several smart teammates who can recognize a play you're setting up, it can seem like a swf. I play mostly solo, sometimes in a two man, and when we get two decent players with us it can seem like a 4 man swf. I've been accused of that when it was just a couple of two man swf's. So for me it's not buffing solo to be in line with swf, but fixing solo matchmaking to be in line with swf.

a 2 man swf is still a swf. it doesn't require a 4 man swf to have the odds stacked against the killer. This is another reason why I don't buy into the need to buff solo queue. The issue isn't simply solo queue, it's that most survivors aren't that good and need some sort of crutch/carry lol. And it's this skill level mix that makes killer tolerable. 2 swf + 2 buffed solo queue players will feel terrible just like playing against a stacked 4 man swf does. The MMR system is already punishment enough for decent killers as it is. And it's already bad enough that a lot of killers are settling for cheesy 1k noed games. If survivors want the benefits of playing in a swf, they should just play in a swf. and if they don't have people to play with, they can always switch to killer and then they will have all of the information they need at their fingertips.

I agree buffing solo q isn’t the answer. Good survivors will feast on lower skilled killers, which doesn’t need to happen. SWF is just players taking 3/4 of the other player matchmaking into their own hands. Matchmaking is the issue, and there is no easy answer to fix it, there are far to many variables to make a good system, at least what BHVR has shown so far.

They can make all the changes they want to solo survivor to bring them closer to swf but if they once again show their incredible glacial pace to balance killer accordingly then i can assume that this would at least extremely worsen the situation for all survivor or even straight up kill the game when killer then have to face 100% survivor being able to coordinate and have to wait for a year or more to get compensated.
