REMOVE GENERATORS (A Hide and Seek Game Mode)

I was thinking "Why no alternate game modes for DBD?" Then thought "What kind of fun game modes to be conceived?" Then lightbulb

HIDE AND SEEK

Here's the idea

1.) Map is a 50/50 between Rotten Fields and Shelter Woods

2.) Only BP offerings allowed. Survivor's can't bring items and killers can bring any addon excluding iri's

BONUS: Killer gets to use "free" addons. Meaning they can use any addon regardless if they have it

and if they do have it it will not be depleted from their inventory.

3.) Killer gamers can choose any killer

4.) Killer and Survivors have locked perks

Killer: Hoarder T3, Floods of Rage T3, Franklin's T3, and Lethal T2

Survivors: Distortion T3, Quick and Quiet T3, Parental Guidance T2, and Plunderer's T1

5.) NO GENERATORS

Yes, that's right no gens. "But Mr. Anon how game play?" Here's how it would work.

Only 1 survivor is able to escape. They can either take hatch or exit gates after the other 3 have been unalived.

Chests will have a fixed rate of spawning a green key 50% of the time, purple keys 35%, and iri 15%.

Keys will be guaranteed to spawn with blood amber.

Chests will also "respawn" after a duration of time so that survivors can keep trying for keys.

At the end of the game, everyone will earn a base 20k BP. The last survivor alive can earn a bonus 12k for

an escape, and the killer can receive a bonus 12k BP for a 4k. Survivors will also receive a bonus 3k BP

for every unhook action. (To encourage cooperation rather than allowing teammates to die on hook.)

So BASICALLY, the only real competition in this gamemode is between the survivors to see who can outlast the

the others and make an escape. No real game progression except for survivors dying which will ideally

encourage stealth. Pallets and loops woukd not be changed.

I'M NO PROFESSIONAL, but in my humble opinion I think this would be fresh. A drastic difference from normal

gameplay. There might be intentional sandbagging going on but I think that would add an interesting dynamic.

Instead of having to just worry about the killer you would also have to worry about your teammates.

Feel free to critique or throw out your own ideas. Maybe we can also get no perk, random perks gamemode

Anyways thanks for reading. If you didn't that's cool too.

TL;DR: Unironically remove the gens

Maybe as an event? Tbh survivors would just let people die on hook. Plus matches would last like 30 minutes; the last 2 survivors would just hyper stealth it out

Won't work. Stealth as been crippled in this game, its not just bad method its impossible. You say killers can run any addons they want but plenty of killer addons reveal aura. Due to map size, map design, and genuine hiding spots, it simply would not work. Most importantly, dbd does not have enough of a player base to allow for a second gamemode.

Kind of like an event, thinking more like part of a playlist where every few weeks the current gamemode is swapped for another fresh "party" gamemode centered around a theme. Have some of them reoccurring. Solos probably would have a hard time but I imagine a swf might lean more into the "party" aspect. Swap Q&Q for deliverence that way solos are enticed with a get out of jail free card? As for the hyper stealthing idk. Swap FOR for whispers maybe. I'm just shooting stuff out there

Yeah I kind of neglected that didn't I. Blacklist aura reading addons, boom. And yes stealth really isn't that good, but that's ok because the survivors are meant to be caught. Also, for BHVR to add a NEW gamemode would be unprecedented. That could cause some talk and reinvigorate players who left to at least come back and try it.

The bigger issue is you would be splitting the player base. Depending on the time of day, wait times for matches are already fairly long and splitting it further would make it worse. Especially for game mode you created that is basically made for killers to have a dominating power type match, that requires little skill or input as oppose to base DBD that requires a lot of focus just to stand a chance of wining. DBD really afford to lose any more killers. Not that your idea is bad, but rather, its the same reason why DBD can never create a comp or casual game modes.
