Hiding killers perks from solo players
Hiding the killers perks and addons from swf has been a needed change since release. But hiding it for solo players aswell is just #########. I just want to see the killers perks without having to wait for the game to end. Is there nothing that can be done to seperate solo players vs swf players?

Solo players can message each other on console. End of discussion

I get you wanting to see the loadout but people would tell the other players. You should have a pretty good grasp on what the loadout is even before you die. Tinkerer, BBQ, Monitor and Abuse, Did you break flaming totems, Nurses(did the killer come directly to you when healing in their terror radius) etc...

Wait until your team dies, or escapes if you need to know it that badly.
Iirc, there is no flag for solo, and swf so the game can't tell apart solos and swfs.1 -
The "theres no flag for solo" is the reason, not the excuse.
Solo players messaging eachother just seems like a bullshit reason. When does that ever happen? Is that why noone should see perks? Im curious, and sometimes I just wanna see what perks, and specifically addons, the killer has. It doesnt feel intuitive to not show probably the most important part of a players build when all this time DbD tried to be new player friendly3 -

Is there nothing that can be done to seperate solo players vs swf players?First of all, the matchmaking doesnt differ between solo and SWF players, so there is not even the knowledge right now to make a difference.
But even then, people can still talk to each other over steam, use PS or steam voice comms or wahtever and abuse that knowledge like they did before.

If 5% go out of their way to add someone and if then 1% out of these 5% actually accept them and listen, then I dont think thats a good enough reason not to show it to solo players.
Im saying solo players should be able to see them before the trial ends. "The game doesnt differentiate" is whats wrong, not the excuse for it being like this3 -
IF you play SOLO.... after die you go to another lobby. Why to wait to the perk reveal?.

If seen the perks is a big enough concern to you that not only are you making a friend about it but actively participating in the discussion then what is waiting for the match to finish
Also is stated above it's not hard to get a grasp on what the killer has during the match
Most of the time I hear people desperately wanting to know the killers perks is typically because they want to complain about The Killers build0 -
Its not always easy to find out all of the 4 killer perks. This is also a big issue for new players, since seeing the perks they match up against is very important for them. It is just a big inconvenience that shouldnt be a thing

Its there because it was an easy to abuse system to let other survivors know what perks were being ran, even by solos. It was not uncommon for solos to send info to each other after one left the match. Honestly, it was one of the reason I turned off msging on PS4. Got tired of the times I was running survivor seeing "He has NOED" pop up on my PS4 App. Rather annoying and extremely unfair to the killer.

Im saying solo players should be able to see them before the trial ends. "The game doesnt differentiate" is whats wrong, not the excuse for it being like thisPlaystation message. It doesn’t need permission, and it shows the first two lines on a players screen. And it would happen more if these changes happen. Can’t believe you thought of swf when I mentioned console. That doesn’t make sense because pc has that too

Steam since a lot have profiles set to public, streamers on survivor side etc.

Then if its actually such a big thing on console (which I actually dont believe) Why have it for steam too?> @powerbats said:

How often does it hapen to streamers? A public profile is no different than a private one if you want to message one. Why is it such a bad thing if one out of a 100 games one random solo tells the killers perks and addons to someone else, or at least tries to? Why would you just remove it entirely? What about the others, especially new players?

Yes, it absolutely is necessary, and nothing can be reasonably done in a way that doesn't ######### over Killers everywhere. You can wait to see the perks, it won't kill you.

I understand your point, but the game isn't able anymore to distinguish solo players from SWF teams after entering the killer's lobby.

You're pulling numbers out of you know where to say it's ok if it only happens 1 in 100 games and human nature being what it is if someones salty or the game is going badly they'll message someone over it.

This has a change that has been coming for a long time. Finally killers can run obscure perks and not be countered because their friend told them the killer had it.

Its not about survivors swf or solo, killers needed it so that end game builds don't get exposed and negated due to out of game knowledge. It removes an obstacles that a player should not have to overcome to begin with.0
-
Meh, i see this game like poker, if i lost already who cares what killer had? Besides, you can guess most of the perks killer is running before you die, even addons if you play as killer often.0
-
Finally I can use bloodwarden, it's not a ######### perk anymore so no, no changes there please.
Currently it's almost a guaranteed kill or even 4k if people are in a SWF and are altruistic enough to save the guy which finally makes this perk balanced.

It will definitely hurt the new players. It is just so frustrating when someone does not know the basics of the game but you are forced to play with him cause of the flawless ranking system where good players are at rank 13 and bad players are rank at 4. And then when you add the horrible guides the game has that don't even cover things like scratchmarks/how long they last and when do you leave them for example/ things look really bad. Just imagine a new player who meets Myers with the mirror. How he will even find out how this build works. You cant even freaking see the addons of the killers anywhere/only after a game if you wait now/. You have to check the dbd wiki or another place cause its extremely hard to find the info inside the game. I can only imagine if I was starting playing just now and I had to wait if I even knew about that /cause that change is only mentioned in the patch notes so a new player may not even know about that for some time/. Most of my knowledge about the killers addons come from the aftergame screen checking addons and perks - and there are just TONS of these already it is kinda hard to keep up with all the new perks and addons

This was a great change. If I really need to know, just spectate and wait for the end. Most of the time matches are so straightforward I don't even feel it's necessary to see what they were using, only on a really fun and engaging match do i hang around.1

I play on PS4 and the ability to message is annoying, I’ve had survivors mad I didn’t help them off a hook being camped, get salty and message the killer where everyone was.

1) There is no way to tell the difference between a solo survivor and swf
2) solo survivors can still message and send information to the people still in the game while this is a lot harder to do on PC it's incredibly easy on console.
3) you don't need to see The Killers perks you want to if it's something that you want to see so badly then wait hell go make yourself a sandwich or something whilst the game runs

Why do you even need to know Killer's perks? What the point? You know their perks during trial 100% of times. There are not so much perks used by Killers in general, cause a lot of them are trash.
Ruin, BBQ, Nurse's, Sloppy, Bamboozle, Haunted, Rancor, Tinkerer, Thanatophobia, M&A, Brutal Str, Enduring, Spirit Fury (also you assume SF as soon as you see Enduring at M1 killer), Franklin's, TotH, Lullaby, Unnerving, Overwhelming, PGTW, Discordance, PWYF, NOED are recognizable at first encounter.
Whispers, Surveillance and Bitter at second.
Name perk you can't recognize at first or second glance which is so much important that you need to know it after you died?
