Pinhead proves that the survivor playerbase isn't ready for a secondary objective

I think it's pretty common nowadays to read about how awful it is to play against Pinhead in SoloQ, often feeling like your team just doesn't get to the box.

One of the most common features suggested for this game is having generator parts or things like that to have a secondary objective in survivor, but if a single killer that requires someone on the team to go pick a box every minute and a half or so already makes 90% of the playerbase feel miserable, how would it be if it'd now be during ALL your matches.

I think it's really funny thinking about it, it shows that after 6 years survivors have become used to sitting with m1 for 80 seconds and every now and then have a chase. And even the slighest of changes is enough to have people literally DC against the only killer that makes you move around the map

    Survivors claim 'Holding M1 is boring' and 'We need another objective'. But when perks like NoED and characters like Pinhead add a second objective? 'OP/unfair/boring/unfun. Plz remove!' because they don't want to stop holding M1 or they might lose. 😁

    It shows that a big part of normal players is not so good.

    I only play Solo. Everybody can see the box. Some don´t even know what it does. Some don´t know what powers and perks or addons all the killers have as they only play surv.

    I think in this forum are way too good players (or pretenders) that don´t understand the masses anymore.

    A lot players struggle with chases, a lot don´t reach Iri 1 "easy", and a lot struggle to escape often. Even more with MMR.

    I really do think solo might be in the worst spot ever. Mainly because of DMS + Pain Res creating global pressure for all killers. You can't even sit back and do a gen without getting punished cross-map for someone getting 2 tapped by a wraith or something.

    At least with Pop the killer has to actually come over and boot my gen a bunch of times, now I might not even be remotely close to the action and my gen is getting kicked + DMS'd sometimes. I have literally had games where I spawn in, hold W to the nearest gen, and it gets pain res'd so many times that I actually can't even finish my first gen before someone is death hook or dead

    Why single out Pinhead when Pig exists? She's been in the game for way longer

    She not only has a secondary objective, it's one that has a chance to kill you directly under certain circumstances

    I don't understand how people are so overwhelmed by the Lament Configuration in solo queue. Whenever I'm solo queueing and no one's solved it by the time it's halfway done I just go "huh, no one's solved it, I guess I'll go do that". It's really not that difficult to deal with.

    Yep, same.

    I have seen how difficult it gets once chainhunt started.

    But i sometimes wonder how some players don´t know what chainhunt does or how this box thing works.

    I'll admit survivors asking for a secondary objective want it to be more like boons, optional, and help them. No one is gonna want to nerf themselves.

    Secondary objectives are already in the game via The Rift. They also tested an early game stall mechanic and they scrapped that idea so I doubt they'll add more to what's already in place.

    As far as PInhead's box, it's been talked about already and I agree that once you lessen the gap between solo and SWF, that mechanic and a lot of other things won't be that big a problem.

    The problem is a lot of people do know how the box works and that's exactly why they don't go for it. Especially if they're not good at looping which more people are not good at than are; it essentially gives Pinhead a free down and doesn't, for many, have a good counter play. Using this as an example as to why survivors aren't ready for a secondary objective isn't really a just argument for that reason.


    A fairer test for judgement would be to change Pinhead so that there is a rotating 'designated box cracker' which changes person each time a box spawns and that person can solve the box without allowing Pinhead to teleport to them as long as they don't miss the great skill check. Other could Still solve the box as they can now but Pinhead can teleport if he wants to if it's not the designated survivor. Then if People still aren't doing it you have a definitive answer.

    But if the devs added a secondary objective it would be universal to every match, it wouldn't only show up for you to learn to play against if you happened to be matched against one killer in particular. Someone could play a few games every day for a month and never go against Pinhead.

    There's also no way to tell in solo queue if your teammates are going for the box until they have it. I think it's pretty obvious if Bhvr were to add a secondary objective they would not make it so SWF has a clear advantage and further widens the gap between solo and swf.

    Honestly your post was not very well thought out but it continues the "killer good, survivor bad" narrative so of course it will get upvotes.

    Remove a gen if you add another objective, maybe give the objective a similar completion time as a gen would have so no real time lost or made.

    It is too hard to get 5 gens done.

    Much less doing so many other objectives. Totems, unhooking, healing, running from the killer. And somehow do gens. What if killer has slowdown on top of that? It's impossible.

    And forbid if the chain hunt begins: everything is a standstill.

    Everytime I see Pinhead, I mentally think of a trainwreck.

    Your posts always sound like no surv ever escapes matches.

    I play Pinhead sometimes and some struggle and some destroy me easily and escape.
