The Amanda's Letter add-on for The Pig has been Kill Switched due to an issue with incorrect RBT count.

why current Dead Hard is a problem.
currently dead hard is able to give distance as well as i frames (frames that make the player invincible). The i frames aren't the problem... it's the distance. Dead hard is currently widely used to get to a pallet or window because of the distance, however dead hard being used like this is borderline UNCOUNTERABLE. its borderline uncounterable due to ranged killers somewhat having a counter to it, however ranged killers also have to deal with the i frames AND 110 speed. Due to dead hard being mostly used it's not uncommon to see 4 survivors run it in one match. Now since dead hard is an exhaustion perk and assuming the killer commits to every chase EACH of the 4 survivors can use dead hard a total of 3 times which equals to nearly 12 dead hards overall, again assuming if the killer never leaves the chases. Chases on average (if the survivor even has a decent idea of what they're doing and depends on the killer) lasts up to 30 seconds to a minute. Dead harding to a pallet or window increases this time by a decent amount and there's nothing a m1 killer can do and barely anything a ranged killer can do. Now if you put that together with the 3 dead hards each survivor has (it is 3 dead hards because the exhaustion goes away after every hook and the survivor has a total of 3 tries) that is ALOT of time wasted that the killer cannot do anything about. If the killer leaves the chase, then the survivor can get dead hard back safely as well as their teammates possibly having it. The distance is the problem with this perk, and it needs to be nerfed as the devs have hinted towards or reworked completely.

I mean anyone with a smidge of how to balance a game would see that the current biggest problem is DH and how you can just activate it whenever you want no setup. At least sprint burst if you really wanted to use it mid chase you would need to be following the killer most of the game.

"Just bait it out." - every smoothbrain on these forums.
20 -
I cannot tell you how many times a survivor has told me to bait it out when it's used to get to a pallet or window lmao like it makes no sense at all
7 -
The problem is it getting used for invulnerability OR distance. When you chase a survivor with Dead Hard, they are waiting for you to swing, if you do, they dodge - and get to the safe tile while you recover. Or you wait for them to use and they just wait to use it to get the distance to reach the tile. In most cases it's a lose/lose situation for killer.

Dead hard will never be touched by the devs. It's every survivor's favourite perk cuz it's the best get out of jail free card. I really wanna see how long these "good survivors" would last in a chase without dh.
5 -
The I frames aren't ok either. You can just DH over traps wich makes no sense and it's not like trapper needs a counter. And it's one button press to get out of every mind game the survivor loses. All the people say mind games is where you can show your skill in a chase and then survs have a button to just win even when they lose. Oh and why exactly let's DH go the survivor right throu me as if I wasn't there

With how much you defend dead hard I'm convinced you rely on it

"Just bait it out, you're bad"

I love the way you act like you know me. Must have hit a nerve. 🤣
For your information I use Lithe, and even if I used DH why do you care? That picture still only paints a portion of the amount of complaining that goes on in these forums, by a particular group.
4 -
I kinda thought we all agreed (in some way or another) that DH is a bit over-tuned for the game as it is now.
2 -
Only a bit?
3 -
I'm being generous for those of us who may be recent converts to the anti-DH religion.
1 -
Mate, it's not a religion, it's a scientifically proven fact
3 -
There are those of us with doubts and we must be kind to them and help them see the light.
1 -
We love all the killer mains jumping in every new DH thread saying the same things with the same seriousness 2-3 times every day. 😭
6 -
Don't you know they are just doing their forum daily ritual?
8 -
60k bps like the mori daily
1 -
Really broke the story on DH huh?
3 -
And the survivor mains jumping in every DH thread to defend it.
5 -
Show me how I defended it in this post 😭
4 -
Not being brainwashed by loud voices is you defending things, did you not know?
I wonder if dead hard would be such a problem if people complained less on the forums and played more the game to get better.
4 -
Yeah, it'd continue being a problem even if people complained less
4 -
If they complained less and still played less, yes.
I doubt people playing killer with their 1 second lobbies have time to complain on the forums while waiting for a match, or during the match.
2 -
Killer queues are longer than usual rn, atleast during the day. At night, they're pretty short
1 -
Why would they play killer when they can play survivor or a better game instead
2 -
Because some people enjoy games even when they don't win all of them.
Some people I know play exclusively killer because they think survivor is boring.
If you don't like playing killer, yes, you can go play survivor or another game. I don't think anyone is stopping you.
3 -
Nah it's just that on every post I see you on, your always defending Dead Hard and survivor in general, which is kinda ironic lol.
Also I don't know you, I don't need to.
3 -
Basically most survivor perks are uncounterable esp. exhaustion perks. And all of them use up a decent amount of time if used right, its not a DH issue. Thats how the game is designed. Stop complaining about DH while its a made up issue.

Why everybody is crying about Dead Hard ? When i m playing killers i dont have problems with it so much. U want every survivor to be using sprin burst ? Just kill all M1 killers then.
Lately survivors perks r being nerfed, killers buffed some little. What i do see problem is difficult to play against swf survivors. I do play survivors solo, i use Dead Hard, but against great killers loosing often. Still great killers who have patience get outplay survivor with Dead Hard, its posssible.
Why the Nurse range adons must be OP ? Blight strong killer with so strong adons. U do want to have Dead Hard, and still many times it doesnt extend ur looping so much, especially aghainst nurse with range adons.
Lets keep only Nurse and Blight in the game, make range adons even stronger or give the rest of killers wings, and nerf all survivor perks.
Lately killers have new great and powerful perks, well survivors not often get new strong perks....
2 -
Thats definitely not right. Theres couple perks and adons killers can use to counter exhaustiong perk. And good players killers can do counter DH. U never been outplayed by killer while using Dead Hard?

Sumarizing why DH is broken:
- Two powerful effects in one slot, gaining distance and i-frames.
- Ridiculous cooldown and the single requeriment for using it is being injured.
- The only counter for it is Fearmonger which is a mediocre counter at best because the survivors waiting in the corners of a jungle gyms, shack or main buildings con get rid of the 5 seconds exhaustion very easily and the perk only work if you chase a survivor out of a generator. Baiting out only works in the open.
- Can potentially extend a chase from 30 seconds to 1 minute (even more if you are playing an M1 killer and you are playing broken maps like The Game or Cowshed).

I don’t like the over exaggeration of the things that come out of some players so yes I do defend it.
Good that makes two of us.

At this point, the perk is just a 'forget you, I win' perk and has encouraged the worst of the worst behavior in survivors.
It takes basically no skill or train of thought.
I've had lobbies where survivors don't even look back or time their DH, they just use it when approaching a pallet like a robot because it's what works for them. It's a free out.
It has no cost, is back incredibly quickly, and requires basically no brain power - like all other poorly designed perks.
Just using the perk can easily add 20 seconds to a chase. Which means 4 survivors taking it - assuming they only get chased once for a hook - can add over 160 seconds to the game by pressing E while in a loop.
it doesn't take a lot to do the math.
It's just stupefying in how amazing its value is for basically no cost.
It's as if For The People could only be activated while injured and gave a 40s exhausted timer. It's just broken.
if they made it the same balance - Dead Hard made you broken and you can only use it again once healthy, it would be a totally different story - because at least there would be a tiny little tradeoff.

I feel people who defend it no matter the reason they say why defend it are just survivor main who like easy win.
perk take no brains to use.
should say easier win survivor already easy.
