who in your opinion is the hardest killer to play?

Zachcjjj Member Posts: 531

For a long time i would of personally said nurse but ive come to realise that nurse really only has a high skill floor rather then actually having that high of a skill ceiling and i think nowadays id personally say billy is the hardest killer (including skybilly, curving, etc) but i would like to know who you think is the hardest whether that be blight, billy, nurse or someone else.

    Nurse

My brain can't quite figure out the movements of the survivors when they're out of my sight. So I miss all the blinks. xD

I can play spirit, although I don't see the survivor with her either if I use my power, but it's still easier to hit with her than with nurse.

So no, I will never like nurse and I will never play her again.

I think Nurse is the hardest killer to play well. Her ability is finicky and if you don't play her regularly the timing can be difficult to get. Plus all the blink stun and instant changes of views can be confusing.

Aside from Nurse, I would say being able to reliably hit people with either Hillbilly's chainsaw or Blight's lethal rushes can be somewhat tricky. Getting around the map is very easy with both of them, but being able to land hits with their special attacks when a survivor is actively using obstacles in your path can be challenging. Oni can be somewhat awkward too sometimes when he's powered up but he's still more forgiving than Hillbilly in terms of missed collisions and steering.

Personally I'm a terrible shot though, my Huntress and Deathslinger aren't great because I only play them about once or twice a month so my aim is truly awful. I think they're probably easier to get better with than the others I mentioned, but if you're like me and just never play them much then when you do play them it can be whiff city.

This depends, since every one has a different meaning when they say "play". Some people mean actually playing the killer, and others mean learning the killer

So for actually playing Im gonna have to go with Trapper, information has always been a thorn for killers since its release but this is especially true for Trapper, if the survivors are in a swf all it takes is 1 person to see him set a trap and all of a sudden all 4 Survivors are aware of that trap, Dead Hard being a popular pick also hurts him since they can just dash over a trap. Your trap placements and timing of said placements need to be almost perfect, which is why I think Trapper is the hardest killer to play.

Hardest killer to learn, probably Hillbilly. Learning what surfaces are slippery, what surfaces have a bigger hitbox than they should, what could send you flying, and soon enough, what could send you to space. Hillbilly has probably one of the most simple powers on the surface but has so much depth. He has one of the most unforgiving powers of the roster having a hefty cooldown every time he uses his chainsaw, meaning you need to be pretty darn accurate with where you swing that thing. Its also a factor that can cause a lot of frustration, which also adds to his difficulty in terms of learning, since some one who's frustrated might be a bit more unwilling to learn or think with a clear mind.

    Blight.

As Nurse main, hardest killer is def Blight. I spent really good time on Blight and i am still bad with him :(

Blight and Billy, before I would have said Nurse but after picking her up recently I feel like all the things I used to hear about her being so difficult to play was just exaggerated.

As a Hillbilly main, I think Blight is more difficult.

I will say huntress for the most part you have to learn the hitboxes of pretty much every object definitely kills me when I misjudge a hitbox I'm unfamiliar with

Curious as to why you feel that way. I find Blight to be way more forgiving. I can correct a bad bump if I have charges. With Billy I'm screwed if I don't hit the curve perfectly

Billy or blight purely for the fact that they keep making maps worse and worse for collision purposes. All thought reworked haddonfield doesnt seem too bad.

Comes down to the nature of their powers with collision, as Brimp is alluding to just now. Knowing what collisions to avoid with a saw is easier than what collisions are not possible while mid-rush and interlaying that into a way to earn a hit.

Sliding off of a shack wall when you need that hit to win is far more punishing. In my opinion.

Hillbilly, Nurse, Blight, one of those. Admittedly I don't have a ton of patience for learning curves (especially in games I only play casually, like DBD), and have not played much of them. I would take them on properly if a practice mode were added, I just don't care to learn these in live matches.

If you asked to pick one based on my limited experience with them, I'd probably say Billy.

I primarily play on console, and also have had trouble realizing the potential of the Oni (can't flick, have trouble landing demon strike against good survs).

Nurse, you have to know how the blink works otherwise you are the slowest M1 killer

  • EntitySpawn
    EntitySpawn Member Posts: 4,233

Billy definitely, blight and nurse arent hard to play and sure some things you need alot of practice or research in but most is tied to "tech" or high sensitivity while billy... it's hard to curve on high skilled players as they understand it

Trickster is also nasty on console, especially on lower sensitivity but that's more annoying than something to learn. I can aim perfectly fine in every other game or killer

I find the setup killers like trapper and hag very challenging for me! My brain is just in the moment, so it is hard for me to think "ahead" like that.

I also wish I were better at blight! I think his design is so cool, and he zooms everywhere! Having trouble getting him to zoom where I want. :) I think more practice will help!

So why is his difficulty been easy all these years? I know it's changed lately, but someone was on the wrong wave length.

Nurse by a large margin. With any other killer, if you struggle with their power, you can still play them as more or less an m1 killer. You can't do that with Nurse.

    Hillbilly and/or Deathslinger.

  • WesCravenFan
    WesCravenFan Member Posts: 2,638

    Deathslinger by far.

Billy gets 5% more movement speed, a map crossing dash, and an instadown.

In what universe is Deathslinger better than Billy? He cannot even down with his ranged attack at a pallet.

There is literally only one answer and it's:

    Yup.

Put 50 hours into Nurse or Blight, you're stomping faces.

Put 50 hours into Billy and you've just scratched the surface.

Blight. You just never know how his power's gonna work. Sometimes he slides on something, sometimes he bumps, and sometimes it looks like he's gonna bump but he inescapably slides into the wall and goes into fatigue.

Nurse and Blight at the top

Spirit too because you basically are "blind" in all games against good survivors.

  • ThiccBudhha
    ThiccBudhha Member Posts: 6,987

Probably Pinhead. You need to land the chain (which is like a Nurse blink anyway) for a circumstantial Clown slow and yet you have all of the limitations of an m1 that Billy, Blight, and Nurse can circumvent. He requires you to have specialized knowledge of his Lament Configuration spawns to take full advantage of it instead of enabling the survivors.

Beyond that, life is hard for people who go outside with bondage gear. Society just doesn't treat them the same.

  • Stroggz
    Stroggz Member Posts: 500

Bubba, because of the immense emotional pressure from survivors after you facecamp them.

  • Valik
    Valik Member Posts: 1,294

    Eh, it depends.

For instance, you could argue that Meyers or Ornyo have a higher skill ceiling because to do well with them takes much more than other killers.

It just depends on what factors you're looking at.

  • RakimSockem
    RakimSockem Member Posts: 2,002

You think Billy has a higher skill ceiling than the Huntress? I feel like Huntress might not be the hardest character to pick up, but she's definitely one of the hardest to master

  • Malkhrim
    Malkhrim Member Posts: 1,009

Nurse, by far. Other killers are hard to master, but Nurse takes pratice to even play half decently and stop getting stuck on objects. That's why she has the lowest killrate even though she is the strongest killer in the game.

    All hypermobile killers like Nurse/Hilbilly/Oni/Blight.

I simply cannot grasp their speed, I think slower than they just go. I don't think that I'll ever be able to play them good enough to even call it a gameplay.

The ONLY thing I can do is some SkyBilly's tricks, but it doesn't teach me anything about his normal gameplay XD

Nurse, hardest killer to learn, takes longer to learn and can not M1 in a chase at all.

Blight and Billy. Billy is the hardest killer to play in my opinion.
