"Just hide the grades, they'll cry less"
So after all these mmr tests what solution did the devs come up with? "Let's just hide the grades so maybe people will complain less about going against red rank players, even if it doesn't mean anything" That's the only thing they came up with right? Cuz the matches are still trash. Endgame is longer than the actual match cuz all gens get done in 5 mins, 4 dead hards every game and full meta builds. They're just too egoistic to remove the abomination that is sbmm aren't they? We don't want an iProvEd version of sbmm (cuz you're bad at improving things lol), we want it gone. They bled players ever since sbmm was introduced and they still haven't learned. I'm pretty sure now their strategy is "lets just sell as many cosmetics as we can before the game dies completely".

They work on the matchmaking they just can't snap a finger and have the perfect solution. And the grades are hidden now because they made things confusing especially for new players because like you say they had nothing to do with matchmaking and you can get iri even if you are a low grade player but new people often thought they must be some hyper killer because they are iri

Question - did you only play against Survivors with Meme-Perks in Rank-based Matchmaking?
What are your builds? Are you using Meta-Perks or are you using Meme-Perks?
They said what they did with the SBMM in their Blogpost about the Matchmaking-Tests. SBMM will not go away, people thinking it would, are delusional. The system is a huge pile of #########, but it is here to stay.
But, removing the Grades form the Endgame-Screen is alright. They had no purpose for Matchmaking and players were just confused.

Shortcomings aside, I think a better solution would have been to put a big glowing capital letter warning in the tally screens that said grades aren't used for matchmaking, click here for more info. And the link sends you to the sbbm page.
I can understand hiding grades makes it convenient for them to not have to explain it those who didn't get the memo. But in reality it now just shifts the problem to explaining, well, the reason for hiding grades. The real solution would've been to disseminate the memo as abovementioned. The route they chose just gives a sweeping-under-the-rug vibe to those who aren't current on the state of the game.

Good, keep reporting bad matches in the FEEDBACK section and they'll keep tweaking the matchmaking rules now that they cannot blame the grades being visible in the endgame screen
Hiding grades is only a step in the right direction to (hopefully) get the system to work better

So inorder to unconfuse it they could show mmr instead, but they wont, the complaints about the system being busted would be horrendous

I mean yeah. Because every single time the crying would go something like this:
"Why am I, as a bronze player, going against red ranks?"
"Grades have no correlation to matchmaking they just indicate monthly playtime."
"That's great but why am I going against red ranks????"
"They literally have no relevance to matchmaking."
"Okay, but why am I, as a bronze player, still being paired with red ranks?!"
It was a wonderful cyclical argument of people wanting any excuse to blame something for a bad match that isn't just a terribly designed system and they would not listen so the grades were removed. Magical.

You don't seem to understand that all those 10k+ hour Nurse and Blight players who only play with meta perks, the most busted addons and a map offering every single game, were tired of 4k-ing people that sometimes had a chance of finishing all the gens so BHVR, employing only the most galaxy brain of all developers, rightfully identified the most pressing issue with the matchmaking and ensured that they can clap on even less experienced survivors. The entitlement is really getting out of hand on these forums!

Hiding the grades was just a dumb idea. If the MMR system has no relevance to grades, why hide them? All it does is it takes away the ability to see the overall playtime of teammates and opponents. And that can be a big determining factor on if they were trying to smurf, or you were going against an opponent with high playtime or low playtime, or if you really should have lost to that team/killer considering a bunch of factors including the grades.

Grades should not exist in the ecosystem of newly invented SBMM. There should be shown MMR instead of that which will not give wrong feeling about how you, bronze, face red ranks. SBMM is a self made problem that introduced grades problem, which was "fixed" by removing the entire system out of the game. Like whats the point of grades? Its atavism. Old system was functional, there was no need to invent this matchmaking.
But MMR is elitism! You can't see your numbers because it will make you feel good about yourself!

Yeah we all know why they want to keep it hidden

Except that this doesn’t hold up when the grade reset happens.

I'm not advocating for or against showing MMR. I know for a fact I'd like to see it but idrc either way. I'm simply saying why grades were hidden.

Well people are uneducated on that in the same way they're uneducated on how grades and matchmaking work. They should know that if their grade got reset, everyone else got theirs reset too. Why would they think it's smurfing after we just had a grade reset, unless they're that clueless? Not exactly the kinds of people we should be making balance, matchmaking, or qol changes around.

It doesn't matter people are still gonna cry just as much, I could remove COH and DH from the game on top of fixing matchmaking and within twenty minutes of the new patch notes being out, there would be new threads already crying about something else it's nothing new the people who cry are always going to do that it's who they are

It's basically for this exact reason they being hidden, so people don't start blaming team mates for their losses only due to the team mate having a lower grade. Since grade means nothing (An Ash 4 might just be someone who had a break from the game for a couple of weeks but is actually a high skilled player) they have no reason to be shown other than, I dunno, bragging rights?

Yep that's what I think to. When we see mmr we could see how bad matchmaking gets to lessen q times and we would have evidence that you can't climb with most of the killers
