the box spawns 3 chains one after another. dodge those 3 (do not break it on an obstacle or it'll spawn again) and you'll have time to solve the box. this is not a bug and picking up the box doesn't stop chains from hooking you.

Yeah I tried dodging the waves of chains and solving it and it still spawned more. If it's not a bug then it's just terrible design.

Exactly.
This is not a bug, you gotta avoid the initial chains, and then start solving.

You have to count and break 3 chains in a row then solve it, yeah - they spawn in groups of three. As a Pinhead main I agree it's not well-communicated to the player and should be changed or better explained ingame somehow.

One of the main reasons I hate going up against Pinhead and sometimes just straight up DC. We don't want to deal with this..

you most likely got hit and immediately broke it on an obstacle or pinhead shot his chains at you. also your logic of not being able to be hooked while having the box is terrible design. just gives another reason to hold his power hostage

I've encountered this too. Had a match today where I was wondering why all of my teammates were going down with the box until I picked it up myself. Kept getting interrupted while solving it. I really don't think me and my entire team suddenly forgot how to play against Pinhead, and he wasn't running any special addons, so it feels like something is wrong here.

This bug was fixed maybe for like two weeks after the patch notes released... after that it is still broken.. the best how to face Pinhead is to DC imo anyway.

That's true. You can DC to any killer, it's your choice. My choice is to not play against/with Pinhead. I have my reasons 🤷🏽♀️ and since this bug is around for months and no one plays Pinhead anyway it doesn't really matter .

I'd appreciate it if you could get a video about this issue.
I haven't been able to see Chain Hunt without cool-downs when holding the box.
