Can DBD get any worse now?
I have hardly played the past few days because my drive to startup the game is almost non-existent. Looking at the player counts it appears my sentiment is shared among most.
I watched some Twitch to look at the patch and what I saw was not very encouraging. A popular streamer camping and tunneling everyone out of the match and eventually survivors gave up. I literally saw a Dwight and a Kate looking at a Legion in his eyes asking to be sacrificed because it was impossible for them to win. This is after the killer camped someone unnecessarily in the basement. Survivors not able to escape either and complaining about how bad their teammates are. Can I be reminded why the hatch and keys were ruined? Survivor gameplay is way too hard now. I actually saw no survivors escaping in a span of about 45 minutes.
The patch is 100% killer favored and now Legion is so overpowered there is nobody going to escape. Not to mention how unfun they are to verse. Survivors hit hard with more unnecessary nerfs is really causing a very lack of any enthusiasm. A fun boon mechanic ruined, there is no reason to use them now. I find it disappointing a healing perk has nerfed into the ground while buffing a killer that makes it extremely easy to injure people and actually down. Downing that fourth person is going to probably be happening a lot because of how long Legion can maintain his fast speed.
Balancing and priorities needs to change before the Titanic sinks. I can't be alone with this opinion.

Oh yeah Legion was a snoozefest before, now you usually get slapped with 0 counterplay Broken + Mangled anytime they see you

Yeah, it is a killer-favored patch. There’s no denying that. But it’s not like legion didn’t need the buff they got, and COH is still a very strong perk.

To be fair to the devs on this one, I believe either Peanits or Mandy elaborated on this and said that working on lots of content like this is obviously time consuming (And given they are a company that doesn't crunch), if we want big content changes like this we can't expect huge mega updates to both sides each time even if that would be the most ideal scenario
Personally my big hope is the anniversary will have a big survivor QOL update since rumour has it we're not getting a license this year.

He probably means that killers will now target Davids and tunnel/camp them out of the match.
When I played killer, I tunneled him so I can look at him more.

Oh I absolutely agree and I’m pretty sure I saw that post you mentioned as well and that’s totally fair. I’m not complaining about it, sorry if it came off that way, I just pointed it out in relation to Sluzzy’s post and also disagreed with legion being op. Overall I’m happy with the update even if there’s a few bugs to be ironed out. I’m excited for the anniversary and if we get the solo survivor QoL update then, that would be awesome.

For what it’s worth, I do hate playing against Legion. So I guess we agree on that. Just super annoying constantly mending and healing.

I know you meant that with the change in David, he will be more tunneled than ever, like some who use pride charms, but the way you put it in the thread was weird. I agree with some things you defend, mainly the SoloQ situation which like it or not, gets worse, especially with the new hemorrhagic status in any killer.

Exactly. Legion is so easy to play but saying E to win when all it takes for killer is press M1 to win.

I do beg to differ, CoH is hardly any better than self-care. People spending a lot of time for such a weak perk helps the killer.

I mean it's about as easy as killer has ever been imo. You equip your 4 automatic gen perks, you get your completely free damage states, and then you tunnel someone to death starting at 5 gens and automatically win if they don't have DS. That's the state of DBD unfortunately.

Okay, let's dig in.
- If you aren't having fun, there are plenty of other games out there - hell, I'm currently being tempted by that Guardians of the Galaxy thing, the newly announced Mechwarrior DLC, The Riftbreaker, Lost Ark and No Man's Sky...and there's that new Path of Exile season starting soon.
- Yes, camping is a problem. It's being looked into but it's sodding hard to fix. Patience is a virtue.
- The game is absolutely not killer favored now.
- You've been saying 'the game is killer favored' for the past ...2 years?
- Legion is absolutely not overpowered. You can still loop him forever - just split up when he starts heading in.
- CoH...nerfed into the ground...what? The perk barely got nerfed, all the really nasty stuff about it is still there - you just can't use it and a medkit to heal as a duo mid chase anymore.
- There's nothing stopping any survivor from being targeted. What exactly do you suggest? Equipping a Pride charm gives you invincibility?
- You've been saying that the sky is literally falling since I've been on these forums. Just...stop.

What you just described has been the killer meta for years now.
4 slowdowns, tunnel one dude out and pick a killer that can injure people quickly/end chases quickly.
Blight and the 4 horsemen of the gen apocolypse and just because Blight/Nurse "are hard/take skill...etc" doesn't mean it doesn't become easy after a while.
And contrary wise, you could argue playing survivor has only gotten harder by virtue of COH being nerfed even though before it was a thing survivors were still considered the stronger role when pushed to their 'peak' for lack of a better word.

It is worse than selfcare for your first heal.
After that is when you begin getting value and it quickly becomes way better in terms of what you get out of it, IF you are smart about where you position your totem and don’t put it somewhere too convenient for the killer.

Sure but the bar has been pushed way, way lower now. And at least the Ruin Pop meta required some input? The current slowdown meta is completely automated, and global.
I also would argue that old rank 1 (when it was pure Nurse/Billy in like 2018), you usually got really good teammates. Right now it's an utter crapshoot and in a game where a single weak link makes the entire team die by default the matchmaking is really ruining things.
There was a period between Nurse getting gutted and the tiles being spread out that DBD was at it's peak. I would take old instasaw billy meta over what we have now tbh. The game can practically play itself these days

Usually the killer snuffs it before it is used more than once. When the sound being so obvious, there is really nowhere to hide it. The only time is even slightly harder for the killer is when there is more than one level on the map.

In the new tome entries it's revealed that David King was held at gunpoint in BHVR HQ and they forced him.
The plot twist is that it was Mcote holding the pistol the whole time and he becomes the new Observer 🤯

Put it at the top of the IWOM main structure, the Eyrie main structure, anywhere on the second floor of Midwich or the RPD library and - even if they know it's probably there - the time commitment is so huge that if they do go and snuff it, you come out ahead of the bargain.
The latter half is key.
CoH wins me games when the Mikaela blesses the same totem right out in the middle of nowhere.
Smart survivors know where to site them.

Just got 3 escapes in solo queue against Legion (again). On Midwich, which is widely considered to be a killer-sided map. And I’m not very good. Should I keep updating you on how many times I see a Legion player not getting 4K like you claim they will in every match?

I'll be honest, I'm honestly moving away from DbD myself. I started playing survivor with my friends because we wanted something to play while we hung out. Anymore it's just not worth the frustration, I started up Diablo 3 with my friend and it's just much more relaxing. I've noticed I've also started playing LOL more too, just because I know I'll have fair matches and be able to actually play the game instead of sitting on a hook staring into Leatherfaces cold empty eyes for 2 minutes plus however much time it takes to find a game and wait for everyone to ready up. DBD has become a Christmas Tree simulator anymore.
