The Legion rework is a nice QOL, but it doesn't change much.
The buff really doesn't do much at all against half competent teams, even with +2 second duration + 0.3m/s addons chaining 2 hits even can be a struggle on most maps. They gave him an actual "power" in chase, but if you play for trying to chain hits you're just wasting your time and not getting anything out of it. In most games he's still the same old underpowered legion. I think he genuinely feels worse to play now, because they've given you a way for your "power" to be "useful" and down people but realistically you just won't get the 5th hit in most of your games, and he still has the same weaknesses he always did. The best buff that came out of it was -1 second on coming out of his power and that still doesn't do that much for him anyway since we already had that with add ons in the past and he was still quite awful.
I'd love to hear everyone else's thoughts so far on the update, maybe have a healthy discussion in a dead by daylight forum?

For me it changed a lot. From "meh / below avarage" fun level killer went to "quite fun" to play as.
He is faster, less cluncky (aka cooldown reduction helped him A LOT) and his chase music fits so well.
Now, in terms of balance he is a bit better but still weak killer.
That being said... I am happy for his changes because for me is more important how fun is to play the killer than how well can I 4K with him.

Legion has been fun since day 1.

Well from my experience no basic attack killer can be strong when DH and a bunch of safe tiles exist.
But I'm sure it's fun for those people low mmr and that's the aim... sadly.

That's subjective but good for you.

To me Legion is in a good spot now. Still feel like he should be given a 0.25 seconds of invulnerability from getting stunned after getting a frenzy hit.
I think now they should focus on other killers.

I definitely can see the fun aspect being raised by a lot, going for chain hits has been a lot of fun initially on my side as well. Sadly him being faster doesn't feel like it does much on most maps for his frenzy, and bringing never sleep pills for the duration can feel like a death sentence without a map offering.

Legion update was pretty much perfect for me.
Still the same Legion that i know and love but smoother and more polished.
I couldn't be happier

That could be nice, personally I have no issue with getting stunned if I greed for a frenzy hit through a pallet. I understand how annoying that can be against competent survivors tho, if anything most times the pallet hitbox feels off when I think i massively respected a pallet but get stunned anyway. I genuinely don't think the devs are gonna give him any more buffs tho sadly, if anything they might end up adjusting him if he stomps too many baby lobbies.

They definitely polished him up and the quality of life changes are there! Him still being the same is definitely a positive and a negative in a way, but the issue is probably not exactly with the state of the Legion themselves but the state of the game as a whole maybe.

Thats why its not an rework, its just an update

Not much has changed, low MMR players are still going to lose and cry about everything, while Legion is toothless against any competent SWF or even solos.

Yeah, I don't really understand the fuss. The biggest boost given to them (5 chain hits) takes a survivor team of such incompetence that it might as well not exist. I suppose once in a blue moon it might happen by sheer luck/accident but overall survivors have to feed the Legion five hits for you to pull it off.
The other changes were nice but I don't feel like anything Legion got was all that wonderful.
Except their new chase music of course. That ish is straight fire.

Yeah fair enough, my bad on the wording there. I think the point still stands tho even if as far as his base kit goes, buffs/changes would be a better word than rework.

I agree with this quite a lot, and the music is fire it is quite loud to me tho I feel like I genuinely can't hear anything else and it bothers me a bit in that regard.

Even if it isnt common, you now have a reason to not just get the hit "over with" while hes in frenzy, since you risk going from 4 healthy to 3 deep wound + 1 downed, which is almost hillbilly level snowball.
The 3s cooldown instead of 4s makes 2 of his old and arguably then best addons basekit, and the extra speed boost makes him more reliable. He also has a TON of combos at his disposal when it comes to addons now, which i adore btw.
sure hes not at a spirit level, but hes now as good as nemi or cenobite imo.
All these changes make him feel a lot more fluid, which i, as a billy main approve of.
and the new music is fire.

I put on some tapes and couldn't even hear killer instinct. The music was a nerf that they tacked on to justify the money they spent on fiver. He use to be silent while in frenzy.

I have to disagree, honestly. Their basekit may only feel smoother (I don't think the five-hit instadown is intended to happen reliably, I think it's supposed to be a bonus for things going well), but they both dealt with Legion's single biggest basekit problem, their horrible fatigue, and gave them a suite of addons you can actually use to combo in specific builds now.
Julie's Mixtape + Spirit Fury + Enduring, for chewing through pallets. Maybe slap Iridescent Button in there too, for easier SF charging.
BFFs + NOED + No Way Out, for an extremely empowered endgame.
Stylish Sunglasses + Stab Wounds Study for really reliable tracking.
Builds like these just weren't possible before, and even if their basekit is only moderately better, the fact that they have this much more versatility makes this update a resounding success in my eyes.

The new music is quite nice, albeit it's too loud for me most of the time and I can't hear anything else. I'm not familiar with Nemesis, but I'd argue Cenobite is a bit better than Legion as those 2 are my most played killers(Legion being my most played). And Cenobite has a bit more going for him I feel like.

Thats fair, I play very little of cenobite personally. I do play a good amount of nemi however, and i think he can be better with a bit of zombie RNG? but Legion is definetly out of the clown wraith doc etc range of weaker killers. What does legion need in your eyes to really get good?
1 -
Nemesis can probably be a bit better with good Zombie rng yeah, and at least he can do something at loops. Honestly, I wish I had ideas for what Legion needs, it's probably just a general problem with m1 killers in the current state of the game. I just know that being given the possibility of our power being useful outside of injuring someone but next to impossible to pull of against most teams makes us the Legion feel incompetent. It's like even if we manage to connect 3 hits on a big map somehow they won't mend and the 4th guy will just hold W and you'll time out before even getting to them, which just feels awful, like all that time was wasted since you should have just ended frenzy and went back to being weak m1 Andy.
I personally don't have access to Enduring, Corrupt Intervention, Spirit Fury etc. which are probably great tools to enhance his strengths/band aid his weaknesse. And as I am a bit new to DBD in the grand scheme of things only 200~ hours or so, I'm not quite sure if killers and their powers should be reliant on other killer's perks to be able to perform, it just feels odd. I don't know if that's my ignorance talking but I do like sharing my thoughts and appreciate the conversation.
