Why are the basement hooks not Scourge Hooks?

Title. I don't see any problems with though? It's not like Kill Rates will skyrocket with this change. Like I would pick Scourge Hooks next to the basement to hook survivors instead of the basement itself.

They should but I guarantee though it’s because they don’t want a basement Bubba to be getting gen regression at the same time as camping.

Thats actually a really good question.

Maybe so it doesn´t stack with Monstrous shrine. But then again, this perk is beyong trash level.

I've asked that question many times myself.

Nobody would ever leave the basement once they get someone hooked there. It would be a continous cycle of 1-for-1s. This can already be done, but you're forced to either choose between getting your basement hook or your scourge hook.

Tbh I think Basement hooks are preferable enough already. Don't break, hard to rescue from, easy to defend, takes more time to escape the basement.

I'd rather Monstrous Shrine was changed to a Scourge perk if anything.

To the people who are commenting about basement camping... scourge hooks revolve around hooking, and if the killer is camping, they're going to get less total hooks than if they were out running and hooking survivor normally.

It's a non-issue. Dont die by the basement and there will be no basement hooks to worry about.

It is an issue. If a killer camps in the basement, he will either be left alone until the survivor dies, or there is an high chance of a hook swap which will make the strategy more viable than it is now.

Because it'd be a terrible idea

Respectfully disagree, coming from a survivor main. It’s like, a quintessential part of the DbD trailers, lore, experience, and gameplay. Just don’t go down anywhere near it, if you don’t want the killer to get value out of it.

The basement is already an extremely advantageous place to have a hook, we don't need to make basement hooks better.

Basement already offers enough advantages as it is. It shouldn’t be encouraged even more through scourge hooks and if anything the basement is an outdated mechanic.
