Green Glyphs encourage toxicity.
I mean, why is this even a thing, people stealing, your challenge, what an awful idea.

it is everyone's challenge, not "yours"
Challenges are also supposed to be, you know, challenging...

We've had totem cleansing challenges for a long time you know.

It's not everyone's challenge if they don't select it point being this does encourage toxicity, had someone dc because someone was stealing their glyph point being this isn't good for the game.

That's like saying you have your own individual chests in the game if you bring a cut coin.
Challenges are there to be a challenge, I do not see it as "stealing someone elses glyph" at all.

Last night I had a David start spamming locker jumps and throw down shack pallet because I cleansed a dull totem that he "thought was his." He wanted to do a boon, I wanted to do tome. It happens.
You can only get the glpyh if you are on the challenge correct?
2 -
You can only "steal someone's glyph" if you yourself have the challenge too.
Who then is stealing the glyph from whom?
It's literally no different to any totem cleansing challenge. It's better than that even, because you're only competing against other players doing the challenge, instead of also competing against Inner Healing, Boons, and vigilant NOED hunters.

Like...65% of these challenges "promote toxicity". Many of them require you to straight up go after the killer (how many "Stun the killer X times in one match have their been) or to throw the match (thanks, hiding within 10 meters for 30 seconds was super helpful for the team there Ace)
That's always been an issue with challenges and will always be an issue with challenges as there are too many players who just grind their objectives instead of doing the teams objective

Every challenge can be completed in the course of regular, objective focused gameplay. Even hiding within 10m of the killer, something any proactive hook rescuer has done from time to time.
Throw on BT and/or Iron Will and go for saves.

They can be but many don't
The easiest example to see is I noticed as killer that when the "throw ten pallets in a chase" challenge came out, suddenly a LOT of survivors really wanted to run right up to me to start a chase and then threw down every single pallet as I went after them, regardless of how much sense it made.
Many challenges CAN be done without throwing the match but many players on both sides don't because they'd rather get their challenge done in one game instead of three.

Competition in a game to achieve a goal to the short term detriment of your competition is NOT toxicity.
Not everyone that does something you don't want them to do is toxic.
That's like saying letting the killer hit the survivors is toxic because it doesn't let them escape.

The Yellow Glyphs that tested the survivors' focus made it into the game a la Merciless Storm with the Onryo chapter.
If Green Glyphs are testing for a future killer perk or power, then, as the killer, you would hope it makes survivors selfishly fight amongst themselves.
----
Honestly, I hope they're testing a new totem mechanic, where they are not visible until the player is much closer to them.

Compared to glyphs, you have perks that can help you find totems. This is not the same.

BBQ shows glyphs, if i remember correctly ( At least the purple one)
edit: I dont know for survivors

The issue is more that survivors are expected to cooperate, and then throwing in objectives pitting them against each other is really only going to lead to hard feelings - and potentially people giving up or throwing the match to even the score.
And...no, I don't think the ontological argument works here. Very few of the challenges are 'challenging' - most of them are just a bit tedious or RNG. There's nothing challenging about 'cleanse 10 totems' or 'be chased by the killer for 120 seconds'. It's just a matter of time.

Its not a thing, cause its not possible to steal.

Any that aren't collected yet will show up when EGC triggers for a short moment. Have you ever seen one show up then without the challenge selected, ever?
0 -
They can only be interacted with, if you have the challenge selected.

Get them quicker next time

Players nowadays… just be patient.

Most survivor challenges are just throwing the game and are complete crap to do in solo Q. But are we really surprised at this point?
0 -
Eh they don't really
Considering some maps it clips through an object and it's impossible to get
0 -
I get that. I finished mine pretty quickly just from stumbling over them. Just saying that if you could grab them without the challenge, you should have seen them light up during an EGC at some point, given that there's a lot of potential totem spawn points.

but...but then hes not mommys special boy if EVERYONE gets to patriciate

Maybe future green glyphs treat them like the envelopes in the last new year event - if you run the green glyph challenge but someone else collects the glyph you both get BP. This could also help the solo survivors that are running around looking for a glyph and can't find it they'll know someone else already grabbed it so they shouldn't waste time looking anymore.

I'm sorry if I took your green glyphs. I saw something shiny and wanted it.
