REMOVE DISCONNECT PENALTY UNTIL YOU GET RID OF CHEATERS
No explanation needed. The state of this game is an absolute embarrassment. If you can't solve the cheater problem then don't punish legitimate players when they're forced into games with them.

I see so few cheaters and so many people that dc that I can not endorse that.

I don't want to speak too soon but since I came back and restarted on the PC I have not yet encountered a cheater.
They were all over the place when I last played late last year

No

I see you'd like to disconnect whenever things don't go your way, huh?

If anything, I'd like to see tantrum throwers be given a slightly longer timeout.
There are close to no circumstances you should abandon your team, even if a bunch of things aren't going well.
People cheating is a seperate issue.

How about no. Without the dc penalty you coulnd play singla game so you could just ask them to shut down the game. Last time the penalty was of you could bet on either the fist surv to be downed dc or the killer dc if he didn't get a down fast enough. Cheaters are bad but I believe no one that tells me they face so many cheaters that the dc penalty becomes a problem. I play a lot and I watch a lot of Dbd and I personally have never encountered a cheater and in all the streams me me and my wife consume we maybe see on in a month so for me it's hard to believe.

I just disconnected from a cheater with speedhacks and their trash friends proteting him. Obvious speed cheating and pvt new profile. PLEASE USE A BETTER ANTICHEAT ENGINE!!!!!
EASY ANTI-CHEAT IS EASY CHEATING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

As survivor, just give up on hook if you really absolutely need to leave the match, as killer let them finish the gens asap
1 -
not working - cheaters can take game hostage, so even endgame collapse not ending the match, so you forced to DC as killer

You cannot tell me you've had that happen to you consecutively enough to make the penalty timer more than 5 minutes. I've encountered 1 cheater this whole month and I play probably about 3 hrs a day
1 -
Yeah, no... In times when there was no dc penalty i've seen 2-3 dc per game just because they didn't like the killer they were facing.

Nice try serial dc'er.

Absolutely not.

A lot of cheater apologists in the replies

There's another one

DCers are bad for both survivor players and killa players. As a killer main I don't so much mind rage quitters because it often means I am having an outstanding performance. What I hate is losing all the bloodpoints as the grind is horrible in this game. If I got 10k bloodpoints each time a survivor disconnects then I would be content. I am only afraid of that one killer player ruining it for everyone by playing unsportsmanlike in order to force disconnects to load up on DC BP bounty.
An alternative approach to discourage DCers is to take some bloodpoints out of their blood bank and give them to the killer player. That would be more effective than disallowing the DCer from playing for 10 minutes.

Okey so let's be honest let's say they deactivate the dc penalty till they got rid of the hacker problem and let's say they need like two months to find some working way to get rid of them.
So in these two month there will be about a dozen games that actually get completed. If you don't have penaltys it's very likely that the first guy that gets down just dcs and then since there is no penalty the rest goes out to. The same will happen with killers oh two gens poped before I got a hook dc.
Do you think the game would survive the time they would need to get rid of the hacker problem because it's bhvr and they will need like half a year to a year.
I don't want to defend hackers but no dc penalty just sounds like the doom of dbd

The whole reason we have the DC penalty is because, even with it, people can and do D/C for the pettiest of reasons. Be it "getting a killer you don't like", "being a one-down wuss", or "gens get done too fast". The D/C penalty keeps that down to a degree.
Serious question: Are cheaters currently such a problem right now that allowing the above is the better alternative?

Disconnecting and suicide on hook are just as prevalent as before the penalties. BHVR claims disconnecting decreased, however suicides increased to make up that difference. There's no circumstance where a serial disconnector isn't going to get their way in the end, they'll disconnect until the penalty grows to big and then resort to killing themselves or actively ruining the game when people stop them from doing it. People who disconnect WILL NOT PLAY MATCHES THEY DON'T WANT TO.
All the penalties are serving to do is punish legitimate players who are affected by a hacker problem that is much worse than it should be by forcing them to stay in a game with people who are speeding up when out of sight or just blatantly flying around and holding the game hostage. It's a pathetic state of affairs and none of this hemming and hawing by people pretending disconnections don't still constantly happen accomplishes anything to solve either issue.

don't play the game at all if you support DCing, it's that easy

I accept your concession

I'm sure the "you just want to disconnect" morons are in absolute shambles with the current patch lol
