Campers *facepalm*
came back to dbd recently, and a lot has changed, some things for the better some, as the title suggests, for the worse.
I cant remember a time when I found so many campers in soloqs as I do now. And im not talking avout Bubbas only. Nurses, Tricksters heck one time even Victor lmao.
something should be done about it, like it ruins the whole experience of the match. Its no fun just doing gens while the killer just watch someone on the hook.

Camping has been a intended game mechanic from the very beginning. Nothing changed in that regard.
The only thing that changed, was how efficient survivors became with doing gens. Losing 2 or 3 gens during the first chase isn't uncommon. So the killer feels like he has to camp in order to secure 1 kill.
Just equip BT and go for the rescue or finish the last gens and get out.

Well I just got out of a match where the survivors did 4 gens in under 3.5 minutes when I was Demo. I got 1 pop proc off and the survivors instantly unhooked so I was not able to walk 10 seconds away to use my MYC.
Then the TTV I was against was like "wow I can't believe he is camping" and "wow I can't believe he is slugging, why do you want the game to be over so fast?!!?"
And that was a bigger facepalm than anything I have heard in a long, long time. "Just let us finish the gens in 4 minutes and run every second chance perk in the book and camp like 3 god pallets and win the game, dude. Quit being so toxic!"
Those kinds of lobbies you have to tunnel someone to death and then slug the last 3, which is what I did.

U missed the point my guy lmao yes u had to slug so? What Im saying is face camping is not fun nor efficient for anyone, Killer included. Like u get minimal bloodpoints and the match turns into fixing sim for survivors and watching sim for Killer. U do what u have to do. But “nothing” is a bit much

Thats not camping bro, that’s patrolling thats playing smart. Ig the survivors were dumb enough to leave the last 3 gens side by side thats on them. Im talking about putting a single survivor on hook and watching him die and nothing else the whole match

Gens fly to fast and circle of healing the game is pushing everyone to camp/tunnel get to max level killer and see for yourself.

Have u ever played an fps? Every single CoD MP highlights players who stand still in the same spot lmao they literally show where u are to everyone in the lobby if u stay in the same position for more than 2mins

Im 100 percent certain I have been playing fps since before you were born yes and my example was a sniper a sniper sits still and snipes but you are probably a young 360 no scope sniper so you wouldn't get the reference

I play mostly Ghostface and I am max level. Some lobbies are s* indeed. Thats no excuse to face camp

Name my game? Dead by daylight cause im on the forum. If you want to know the first fps I played it was battlezone on atari kinda random question. If you are trying to find a older online fps with sniper camping probably quake for example.

The literal definiton has, the functional definiton has not.
You could not be reasonably expected to save someone in the olden days against a facecamper, that is still true today especially against certain Killers.
It would benefit us all if we could find a solution.

Originally, face camping was the killer stand in a fixed position in front of the hook. Which wouldn´t survivors allow to unhook, because there wouldn´t appear the "hold m1 to unhook" promt.
This changed with the introduction of swivel hooks. Survivors could unhook from every angle (ironically, killers still can only hook from the fixed angle).
Face camping was solved with this. Now the term refers to the killer being withing terror radius distance.

It used to be that you literally could not unhook a Survivor if the Killer stood in a certain place. You wouldn't even get a prompt to unhook.

But survivors have the tools to rescue a teammate against a face camping killer. Its even possible against Bubba (even though really hard to pull off). I´ve seen it with my own eyes.

Sure. But for that to happen you need to choose these tools or perks beforehand. Which is not possible in game. How do you pull that off in soloq? Where some survivors barely know how to loop around a pallet

You gotta do what you gotta do to win. Survivors are gonna split up on gens, dead hard for distance, abuse strong set-ups, ect. You need to play just as dirty to win, and there's no getting around it.

I just facecamped after I got smoked in a match and ended up with a 3k. One dead, then I facecamped another to oblivion and got a grab on the obsession. Only one escaped.
If this is intended as a game mechanic, this is by far the worst mechanic to be in a multiplayer game.
What camping (and tunneling for that matter) is, is a side effect of two things:
A) Nothing preventing me from doing that and playing as scummy and gross as possible.
B) Matches and map design necessitating or forcing the killer in a position where camping is the only option if you want a kill.

Why not? You can unhook, the unhooked survivor gets protected by BT and DS. Which are both meta perks and omnipresent in every match. So its not like survivors would have to adapt their build or something.

If its not intended, then explain Insidious. A perk that has absolute no usuage as to camp something without getting detected.

If I HAVE to go every match with BT its not “META” its a crutch, its bad game design. No survivor should enter a match thinking “oh boy what if this Killer face camp the whole game that one survivor”. And no Killer should go thinking “oh man, am I gonna get bullied by some SWF today?”. These only represent things that must change bro.
