What do you do when you see this in your lobby (as killer)

3 same items (flashlights usualy), 3+ people from the same platform, looking like potencial SWF group.

What do you do? Nothing? Pick the best tools? Dodge? etc.

I saw 3 people from same platform with 3 flashlights and I thought "Oh I think it will be bully SWF where they just run around you and click click tbagg everywhere"... and yep, I was right lol.

Depends on what killer I'm playing. If it's one I'm only doing for a challenge or daily, I may dodge, but I try to avoid that. Or I'll put on green addons instead of the usual brown/yellows.

If it's a killer I regularly play, then I'll accept the challenge. Devour Hope is a mainstay in several of my builds, so I usually gamble in my matches anyway.

Trust in my Lord and saviour Lightborn and just play the round.

Maybe it's over in 5 minutes, maybe they troll around for 20 or they DC in 2 after seeing that they can't blind me.

I agree 3-4 flashlights then I equip lightborn usually get 2-3 easy hooks if you fake dodging the flashlights

Depends, but if I can, change my perks to something stronger, and if needed equip lightborn. If I am really concerned I equip NOED. I then play the game normally, so long as their not toxic.

    Challenge accepted.

Honestly those teams always guarantee a fun match and almost always a win.

Because they don't care about generators. I will take a so called "bully" Sabo-flashlight squad that just flocks around me over a Gen smasher team that gets 3 gens done in 90 seconds and doesn't even want to be chased any day.

Also the worst mistake you can make against these teams is to bring lightborn, because then they'll revert to do gens and get out.

I Wil take them head-on and may the best troll win.

If I want something to deal with items I just put on franklins or if I'm playing bubba I'll equip that green addon that makes you drop your item. I never run lightborn and imo it's not worth it since as soon as they realize you can't be blinded they just stop trying. Whereas if their flashlight is on the floor somewhere they'll probably waste time going back for it.

If it's 4 toolboxes I probably just dodge though. I'd like the game to last longer than a few minutes.

Lightborn and if I'm feeling zesty... Franklins. I'm doing Insidious Bubba runs and the matches have been oh so sweet.

I play formost pyramid, so i have the luxury to cage people and dont need to hook them, which makes flashlights obsolete. The more toxic a survivor group the more efficient i play. If i meet an bully squad i usually tunnel the first two and slug the last 2 and let them bleed out while i farm every breakable object on the map or do smth else on my second screen. Usually im still very apathic, maybe in mind look at them with a bit of disgust and get bored from the generic childish behaviour which makes the match more cringeworthy than interesting for me but since i can deal with them I like that i am able to trap these people in the room for a while for their anti social behavior so other killers are prevented and they just cant skip to the next match. I dont go out of my way to equip smth else for the match.

Im more likely to dodge when i see 3+ Toolboxes and ingame names like "genrushbot", because im not always in the mood for tunneling, i play for chases but to lower the already broken objective time of the survs kinda limits my gameplay options very fast. Not a big fan of that.

I dont care about other items.

Easy game unless you're playing Wraith or Hag. In that case I'm forced to dodge.

If I suspect a swf, I dodge. It only takes 5 seconds to get into another lobby, so I don't waste much time.

It’s probably not a bully squad as you put it, im not sure what it is with that mentality as we have lightborn and rarely do they survive anyway.

I had matches in solo q where we all had the same items, never meant to, just joined and we had similar equipped, or if you have similar items other people equip them as a laugh (E.g all keys, all med kits, all torches), most of the time none of them get out alive anyway, if you’re on about swf, lightborn will bite them hard as well, otherwise there are other addons / perks for gen rushing.

A lot of people watch their favourite streamers and equip same meta / addons expecting to play like them and are probably just hoping for a good time (unless you play solo q in which case you deserve hell)

1-2 flashlights: play game as normal, be wary of saves

3-4 flashlights: Lightborn (don't make it too obvious you have it, try looking away a few times when they try to blind

Lightborn isn't mandatory, but it is funny when there's a lot of flashlights. Franklin's is a more boring option. Overwhelming presence if you're feeling wild/want to annoy them more by killing them while running stupid perks

People with flashlights are always easy wins, cause they usually dont do gens, but get hit while baiting the pickup.

If they have flashlights and are planning to just chase you around going for flashlight saves, just don't pick up and look around you for 10 seconds. They're most likely lurking around so you can just get free hits and scare them off.

If I see a lot of flashlights and I expect that they might be a SWF, I'll throw on starstruck. Eventually, I'll be able to pick up a survivor facing a wall and then they'll see i have starstruck and most likely won't go for saves in the future, and if they do you can easily punish it. I've had a game that was completely thrown because two of them got instadowned after I hooked. Maybe slap on infectious as well if you have it.

As most people said, don't really worry too much if it's a flashlight bully squad, they're most likely not going to do any gens so it should be an easy gg as long as you don't just keep picking people up. Another option you could do is run overwhelming pressence and just drain their flashlights. Let them get their couple of flashlight saves and just drain them from using it. It would also drain their flashlights more if they decide to go clicky clicky or blind you at pallets.

You can run lightborne as everyone has said, but honestly I don't run this perk because then they'll usually just flock to the gens or just dc. I'd rather have a fun game where I can get a lot of points instead of having them all instantly give up. I try to use alternative perks to deal with flashlights, but sometimes it's really just learning to play the game properly to counter them.

Even if you don't fake dodge a flashlight, you'd be surprised to how many survivors still sit there and go "Why isn't this working!? WHY ISN'T THIS WORKING" Lol

True, although I haven't used it before actually, I run 3 good perks and one meh perks, and lately that one has been hangman's trick, even it's probably worst than meh, lol

When you cause them to drop their flashlight they turn into Golum. "Lost! My precious is lost!" Then they go back for it and get downed.

If I see 3 flashlights, I welcome it. Flashlights are so weak if you know what you're doing

If I see 3 toolboxes, I shrug - Gens go quickly by default. On the other hand, they might be a sabo squad and personally I enjoy the back and forth with sabo squads.

If I see 3 medkits, I'm filled with dread. It's probably gonna be a tough game

Nobody brings 3 keys anymore and nobody ever brings a map

If it's a killer I am really good with, I'll play it out.

If not one of the 3-4 killers I feel really confident with, I'll either equip lightborn or I'll dodge.

To be clear, I do know flashlight counterplay, but in the situation OP describes, you now they're going to push it to the point where it just gets tedious.

  • Sludge

Dodge, it's gonna be a tedious chore even if you kill them. The novelty wears off after hundreds of matches, I'd rather watch paint dry.

  • Laluzi
    Laluzi Member Posts: 6,226

Don't care if it's same platform, coordinated names, or 4x medkits or toolboxes. But 4 flashlights is either Lightborn or dodge, depending on how I'm feeling. It's less the threat of blinds and more that that survivor group is signaling that they're going to play really aggressively, and obnoxiousness tends to be part and parcel of the package. I don't like having to mass slug people because they won't leave downs alone and I don't like dealing with nonstop clicking.

A lobby of Dwelfs or brightly colored Neas is a dodge for the same reason. I expect attitude issues and that just isn't my idea of fun.

    Just dodge.

    Simple....effective...no penalty...quick.

Another option you have is....######### with them with the same energy they're giving off.

Bring franklins, and a bunch of other perks to make their item use absolutely toxic to even click 1 time and the item is damn near gone.

If I don't have any objectives for the match I'm happy to play along for a while. - Throw on BP perks and off I go. And if I'm getting tired of it/they're not just the meme-ing kind or 'trying a thing' but of the too toxic for my taste kind, I turn hit-and-run and go kick some gens, maybe try and force a 3gen and let them do a lot of the dreaded holding M1 before they get to leave😬

If I do want to achieve something other than BP... I opt for Franklins & Starstruck and play normally; focusing on what I need to get done. If it doesn't happen to be a 4k in that match, pretty much everything is possible as far as rituals/challenges are concerned.

So... A killer can avoid a game they don't want to play...

I see the irony in killer complaining about first survivor suiciding on hook.
