I can not stand it anymore.

Member Posts: 169

It's like that almost every game. This game has become un-play-able. And of course I will still lose Pip and MMR because I guess it's my fault. And the worst part is that BHVR doesn't care.

I sincerely hope that Evil Dead will be a good game.

I think the 5 gens remaining is supposed to be the take away from the screen-grab...

we shouldn't be losing pips if it time play mostly because a lot of matches end like this...

I just died in a match against Pig and we barely managed 1 gen.

    They had some sweat build.

We were solos, and I was working on a challenge.

    Time for a break.

    Evil Dead is pretty good

I'm just convinced that their MMR just doesn't work, but they have too much ego to admit it.

Honestly the evil dead game might just come and go. It seems fun but it not gonna last long enough.

I played 5 solo queue matches tonight and escaped every single one. Most everyone else got out in those matches too except the match with a face camping Oni (#########?) I am not a great survivor player. For whatever reason I kept getting matched against bad killers and teammates were overall pretty good.

I’ve found that solo queue goes in streaks for me. Sometimes it’s great like tonight, other times it’s what you showed in your screen shot. When it’s bad I go take out my frustration with a few rounds of basement Bubba 😂

I don't get that. You're waiting for a game to come out to leave dbd because you're frustrated with it.

Why not leave it now instead of forcing yourself to play it?

If I get frustrated with dbd, I'll play anything, or go more outside. That's a better time investment anyways.

The easiest way to win as Killer. You shouldn't be surprised anymore now.

  • Member Posts: 5,897

That's because they take the survivor average Mmr. If the killer is 1,700 mmr as long as the survivor average is within the acceptable range it's considered balanced.

  • Member Posts: 169

Where is the report ? We don't care about the killer here. The suicide and the DC were not caused by the killer.

I thought I was in the I got tunneled 20 games in a row thread.

Right, the MMR itself does seem to work when everybody is the same rating, but taking the average when one person is very high rated and the others might not be the optimal estimate for where the killer should be because it's quite possible that the actual best MMR in that situation is more like the median of the group, not the mean, since one really good player isn't as likely to carry the whole team.

For example, say the survivors are three 800 point players and one 1600 point player. Right now the game uses the average, which is 1000, so it'll try and put in a 1000 point killer against them. But a 1000 point killer is 200 points better than three of the survivors so will probably hammer them in the chases and such, leaving the one 1600 point player to try and carry the squad.

On the other hand, the system could instead use the median, which is 800. That would make the killer an even match for most of the survivors, except that one 1600 point player who still will be running circles around them. But that's probably ok since three of the four match ups will be close in chases which is probably a better result than the current scenario using averages.

Mind you, this is only really an issue when there's a big disparity in the MMRs like edgar described. For most games the MMRs are probably closer together in which case the difference between the mean and the median is much smaller.

I'm not waiting for a game to come out. I don't play DBD much anymore (FFXIV and SoT are much better).

I'm just trying to get Iridescent Survivor Grade I this month. But since it's almost impossible being only in SoloQ AND outside of peak hours, I feel like I'm just going to give up the game for several months. It's not the beautiful broken promises of the Birthday and poor 106% cakes that will make me stay.

I told myself that I was going to restart a few games, telling myself that, perhaps, it would be better...

    P1 - P2 - P3 same hook, of course.

I'm going to hang myself, I think.

Your survivor quality drops drastically. It will rival streamer levels where they just run into you and dead hard into walls.

  • Member Posts: 169

Uuuuuh... But I'm not mentioning the Killer there... I don't understand. The screenshots literally represent my first two minutes surviving SoloQ.

  • Member Posts: 4,189

Then maybe specify that in your og post?

One side only sees 5 gens, 1 survivor dead/deathhook and one DC and only think "okay, the killer tunneled and/or camped and I think the DC is reasonable".

And the other focuses on the DC at 5 gens and thinks "yeah, another survivor without spine that DCs at the slightest inconvenience, wrong map or killer".

And both sides will argument for their pov. Without you specifying what grinds your gears everyone will focus on their subjective point of the screenshot.

    1) The devs don't care.

    2) Even if they cared, they are woefully incompetent to implement any good changes.

Take it or leave it. But preferably leave it, BHVR really deserves for this title to sink as soon as possible.

I just saw the comment and game a response for you to test if mmr is doing something.

As for the first pic. Welcome to dbd solo Q. Full of survivors either deranking so their swf get worse killers or doing challenges. Good luck winning a game if you let yourself slip too low, because then you will be stuck in mmr hell where a 5 minute chase = 0 gens done.

It's some real bs. They either suicide on first hook or DC every other game. I've had so many matches that have come down to the last gen after someone gave up at the start. They need to start dishing out some real bans for repeat offenders.

It all reeks of bad game design. Most devs would look at this and implement some sort of mechanic to alleviate the issue, but not bhvr. The fact that the other survivors can't even give up at that point is ridiculous. Their only hope is that the killer feels sorry for them and drags out the match a little bit.

From what I can gather from strictly anecdotal evidence both as killer and survivor, it looks like there’s always one member of the team who has no clue how the game works. I mean that literally, as in running away from resources, never touching gens, etc. This might go up to two people per team, while the remainder are usually decent players.

Ehh u can still get gens done with a 3v1. I don't know why you guys just give up. Play for points at that point. WHen I see that as killer, I let you all live unless you walk around and don't do gens

  • Member Posts: 8,614

That's been exactly my experience on both sides. It's immensely frustrating on the survivor end when the stated goal of the MMR changes was to separate players at the top from players at the bottom. It's not doing that at all.

If that's what they mean by "variety", they need to consider that it's not just killers playing the game at higher MMR. Nothing is worse than being a good survivor and mot even having a chance because of godawful teammates who struggle with basic mechanics.

Maybe you're on the track, the game tries to put people on the opposite level because you're strong or not experienced enough yet

  • Member Posts: 3,904

I think it's probably kinda narrow in appeal. Like F13 was, it's just 1 franchise. Not a bad game but not much to build on.

DBD suffers from the opposite, multiple franchises with interesting on theme (for the most part) original content that is marred by a bland and repetitive game experience.

I don't need to buy 5 different games to play my fav iconic horror movie monsters, they can all be here but the cost is they are just doing the same thing over and over in the blandest possible way.

Unique killers with varied and unpredictable powers that switch up gameplay, both original and licensed from multiple popular franchises to keep it fresh mixed with varied gameplay, shifting survivor goals that you don't know what they might be till game start. That would be amazing.

    Game modes

Fix the gens and get out

Find all the keys and get out

Find and complete the treasure map to reveal the location of the cursed idol and use its power to escape

Collect the cursed whatever parts and complete the cleanse ritual to get out

Find the parts and fix the car to get out

Stay alive till the police arrive to save you timed game

Death match style be the "last girl" when one survivor remains they win and the killer gets accumulating points based on how quickly they killed the rest.

Game modes that require splitting up and fixing things, finding things, re-converging to complete things, hiding, running, selfish everyone for themselves games.

etc, etc, etc. Chasing and hooking and DBD gameplay can still be part of all that.

I agree, OP should have a gen while his team was getting rolled and smoked.
