Please nerf flashlights

Green key is weakest. 😂

Who uses flashlights anymore? They're virtually useless and extremely situational lol
1 killer perk = removes flashlights entirely (franklins, lightborn...)
Flashlights are 2017 cool

I’ll let the wiki do the work here:

This right here is Gold. Thank you for the constructive response instead of being snarky like some others in this thread.

I'm sure there is a different way for you to say this without talking like a toxic bully elitist asshat.

First of all, Martha. I always turn toward a wall, a tree, or whatever before picking up a survivor. I even run around the proximity and make sure I'll be safe for pickup. There have been many times where I've been blinded from the sides, or even blinded through walls. The pickup animation is just long enough for someone to run in and flash you even if they weren't in proximity before.

It's comments like this that are the reason there is such an imbalance between killer and survivor.
First of all, it's easy to know who spends enough time playing the game that they have the maps memorized and can loop for days. Secondly, I've read the forums endlessly for a long time and there is one common factor that I see as a staple:
Survivors cry, taunt, and call names when they lose, and when they win, they kick dirt in your face and tell you how bad you are. Survivors are the reason the game is the way it is. The game play is not even a fraction in favor of Killers. When killers are discussing the genuine difficulties they face, survivors just wanna sit there and bait and taunt and say mean things like they don't have a right to complain.
Survivors are not the only players in this game. Anyone who plays enough of BOTH killer and survivor would not be so quick to judge the opinions of killers. The imbalance seriously comes from Survivors crying because they lose once or twice and suddenly they praise to the Devlords to change the game in their favor lest there be eternal damnation. When the game is more than 40% skill, then you can be all judgey. Until then, take a step back and look at both sides.

flashlights do basically nothing beyond saves, if anything they need something to make them more useful.
also clicking just shouldn't be a thing. like at all
1 -
You can literally look up, down, left, right, turn around and walk backwards so there’s that.
3 -
Then check around before you pick up. Not that hard lol, it's getting insanely obvious that killers just want kills without working for them atp
5 -
lmao. You obviously don't play killer. Because if you did, then you would realize how asinine that statement is.
3 -
If you say looking at walls or anything like that is not true all the time, I have looked directly at a wall and was blidined from the smallest opening, or if say it's a window vault that's blocked off by RNG you can still blind through it.
0 -
From memory, it only lasted a couple of weeks before they increased the degree range. The original fix was how it should be. If the killer can't see you you can't blind them. Survivors took to forums to complain about blinds being impossible and now you can blind outside the killers fov.
Still better then it was but not by much.
1 -
Well...easy enough for some people at least...I guess

Whatever go cry somewhere else theyre clearly all out of tissues here for your kind
2 -
found the clicky clicker
3 -
Why? Literally look down. No more chain blinds.
3 -
I do ask why the people in the comment section are saying to nerf chain blinds instead of telling OP they can look away during the first blind(down works for me). The game needs to incorporate some things in its killer tutorial it seems
2 -
One of the weakest items in the game and you want it nerfed.
3 -
Yea bro you got me. I click at the killer to make them mad. Nice one bro.
1 -
I still get last second switch 4 man swfs running flashlights, had one last night. 3 flashies though not 4. I got the 4k
0 -
Lol why would it matter even if you did, ######### their feelings it's a video game this forum is full of people with a cry baby victim mentality
1 -
I know. I just made that comment because the one that it was replying to made no sense.
1 -
You're very new. Maybe practice more before demanding massive game changing mechanics.
2 -
If you think current flashlights are bad you clearly werent around when flashlight blinds were instant......
1 -
Use lightborn you literally have an perk for counter flashlight
1 -
This. The best counter to flashlights, if you find them annoying, is to just play along. Lightborn or Franklin just sends them back to gens.
Playing along keeps them close to you, where you can easily hit or down them, rather than doing anything useful for their teams.
1 -
Use lightborn
I do when I see one flashlight in a lobby the only flashlight nerf that is needed is the removal of locker saves because that's literally uncounterable
1 -
They also remove Artist's birds, both on people and while placed idle.
They can also be used to burn Wraith out of stealth.
They can also be used to remove Hag traps.
They can also stun Nemesis' zombies.
They can also blind Victor.
In terms of ways to use them they're probably the most versatile, even more so than maps and keys.
I agree about the clicking though.

I think all survs should be hooked twice to be eaten by entity

Flashlights have been constantly shadow nerfed over the years. It’s to a point where you need to learn the timing and position yourself properly. It’s no longer a brain dead action that everyone can do, like 3 years ago. It requires some knowledge, thought, and a smidge of skill. Even if they nerfed it, the people who are really good with flashlights will just go into KYF and perfect the timing again. That’s what they do every time there is a change. And then there’s others who will throw 30 games in a row by following a killer chasing someone else, just to get the timing down. Then you’ll be right back where you are now, getting blinded.
Better to run Lightborn when you see two or more flashlights. You can also try to be strategic where you down a survivor, by not allowing them to go down out in the open. Try to herd them close to a wall or structure then down them so you can look at said wall or structure when you pick them up (if you dont want to use a slot on Lightborn). If they happen to go down out in the open, take a second to check your surroundings for their teammates with flashlights, hiding nearby. Use headphones so you can hear those same teammates following you while you’re chasing the injured. Treat it like you would if someone suspiciously allowed themselves to get downed at a pallet.
You’re going to have to figure something out soon, cause supposedly the next new survivor perk is going to guarantee a flashlight in the first chest (like Pharmacy does to Medkits) they open and when they blind you with it, you wont be able to see gens for 60 seconds. So even if they DON’T bring a flashlight into the lobby, you’re not safe.
Oh- there’s also Franklin’s to slap the torches out of their hands and Overwhelming Presence to make them use up more of their flashlight battery.

look down dude. or use your ears
2 -
If they would just remove ds from the game, i think flashlights, sabo, etc is just good teamwork and interaction. Might be frustrating to face of course but its better than to have the majority having perks that just magically help without teamwork.
1 -
You are locked into an animation during a pickup. There is no looking up or down.
And you can 100% be blinded from a 90 degree angle. "Face a wall" doesn't always work either.
Still not the weakest item in the game. You can try to bring up whatever "counter" you like. It doesn't change the functionality.
Maps find things you can already find with minimal effort, except totems and that is only the Iri.
Flashlights rob killers of chases.
If your argument was even HALF right I'd see lobbies full of maps, and I don't. I've never seen a four man map squad in my entire life. I saw a four man beamer squad LAST NIGHT.
2 -
Won't even argue with you because you seems like a baby killer. Flashlights are easy to counter, they shouldn't be a problem. Just LOOK AWAY before picking up. It's not hard. Or just look around the area before picking up. If you get flashlight blinded it's YOUR FAULT.
IF YOU GET ROBBED OF CHASES, ITS YOUR FAULT.
IF YOU GET ROBBED OF HOOKS, ITS YOUR FAULT.
STOP CRYING AND GET GOOD.
1 -
Exactly. I don't understand how people are actually complaining about flash lights of all things lol
1 -
By this logic, if you hear a Killer coming and you get downed, you should have moved away. It's not that hard.
IF YOU GET CAMPED, IT'S YOUR FAULT.
IF YOU GET TUNNELLED, IT'S YOUR FAULT.
1 -
or bring lightborn. multiple counters
3 -
No it is not, as that is something the killer must do on their own. Also tunneling is uncounterable without da or bt, but you do not need perks to counter flashlights. Funny how every argument from you was lackluster.
1 -
Not to mention locker blinds, which are just ridiculous.
1 -
Sorry, but what part of "you're locked in an animation when picking up" do you disagree with?
1 -
SwampDaddy, look at a wall or away from a survivor looking for the flashlight save. Slugging can be a good tactic as well if the person with the flashlights is a little bit greedy. However, if you truly despise flashlights, use Lightborn. Avoiding flashlights shouldn't be hard!
4 -
Check @Firebird1 comment. I know you just want free hooks but reading their comment should help you.

Flashlights are fine as they are.
You should play survivor and use one to blind a killer and use one to get a save. Then you'll understand how to counter them better.
When I play killer I 100% know when a survivor is nearby and ready with a flashy. You'll pretty much always hear their footsteps in the distance as they position themselves for the save. You need to learn to sus them out and get them injured before attempting to pick up. If you know how to listen for which direction the flashy person is coming from you'll know how to angle yourself towards a wall to prevent the save. 9/10 times even if they manage to start the blind while you're picking up, unless they have the positioning and timing perfect 100% then you can disrupt it by holding up to look up while in the pickup animation and you'll look up and disrupt the blind before it can take full effect.
Yes, survivors can blind through walls with openings in them, even tiny ones. The killer shack isn't a safe wall to pick up facing. Deathslinger can shoot through the tiny cracks in the wall and hit survivors, trickster can hit survivors through them with his knives, and gf and myers can stalk through them. And that's not just shack walls, that's any wall that has a crack in it. You need to learn the map tiles. Survivors have to deal with BS from this stuff too, not just salty killers.
1 -
Interesting of you to presume what I'm thinking, must be nice to be a mind-reader.
And Firebird1's comment didn't apply to locker blinds aside from "Play Lightborn" and I don't feel like spending one of my 4 vs 16 perks to avoid locker blind BS when the only angle they have is directly into your ear.
1 -
Sounds like a skill issue. GET GOOD.
1 -
If they are locker blinding go after someone else. God you are bad.

Chain blinding is annoying
