If the killer in the 6th anniversary chapter is garbage I quit killer.
Title.
If the new killer in the 6th anniversary chapter is extremely underpowered (just like the Onryo) I quit killer and might even consider quitting DBD entirely. The fact that the Onryo is still a terrible killer with 0 power is already laughable. The playerbase is shrinking every day and the devs ignore the biggest issues in the game over and over. I have no more patience, I'm tired of this. I hope they'll manage to pull it off because it's now or never.😪

while sadako is weak saying she has “no power” is a bit ridiculous. Anyway I’d rather the devs make a unique but weak killer than “mr mid range anti loop number 673”

I can't tell you what her power is. Her stealth is bad, TV cooldown is insane and survivors get rid of the effect extremely fast. She's just the worse version of wraith and freddy. I call that 0 power.
35 -
They released Artist. She is high A killer. But people disliked her?
People are leaving because game is poorly balanced.
14 -
Imagine if Pig was released today with the exact same kit she has now, who the ######### would buy it?
10 -
Saw fans, but that's about it. xD
5 -
Blasphemy.
No one is allowed to dislike Artist

This really does feel like a make-or-break anniversary for DBD. The player experience is not enjoyable and the player count is falling every day. DBD doesn't just need a great anniversary. They need to knock it out of the park in one shot.

Dead By Daylight needs to bring back their veteran players, new players probably won't cut it anymore, as most of the new players that came thanks to the Resident Evil Chapter left the game (pure speculation, but I don't think I'm wrong, the 'New Player DbD Experience' is the worst there is, and Steam charts said so, so I must be right), and Resident Evil was probably the biggest license we've received, and if that didn't cut it, I don't think any other license could

Her chase music is one of the most annoying in the game, worst than ghostface's imo
5 -
I disliked. But i noticed that after i bought her skin :( Waste of my money.... Stupid me

A valuable lesson.
1 -
Releasing a worthless killer isn't unheard of. Have you already found another game? Always be prepared.
Oh, and if the killer is really good don't get your hopes up: it will probably be nerfed a couple of weeks after its release.
7 -
Oh yeah...
I forgot Artist was a thing.
Just played one match as her. I got 0 hooks. High A...
2 -
The new skin is pretty cool, I'm guessing it's atleast 30% based on her 'Garden Of Rot' Add-On, but the head Piece is so bad, but I couldn't resist not buying the whole set for that nice, golden 17/17

I'm pretty sure most of them have left already.
As for veteran players, these are usually on the higher MMRs and the game isn't really balanced around that bracket: do the math. If they are not maining Nurse or Blight, there is a good chance they are not coming back any time soon.

Their best bet:
- Make the killer strong at release, and make it original so that players cannot scream "Pay to win!"
- Make solo queue stronger by adding some form of communication via HUD or callouts.
2 -
Oh yea, you lost one game with a killer you never played before. Now she is garbage. Sureeeeeeeeeee.
I bought her ice skin, it is still her best skin. For me at least.
Very good one.
3 -
I went on a 14 4K streak, so yeah, I'd say she's high A
3 -
The skin is just like the new one, good, very good actually, but the head is so bad.
The normal head and the recolors are the best imo, I don't like how her face is full of ice and how short her hair is.
The body is amazing, weapon aswell, and they go so well with the Frosty Eyes

0 hooks is more than just a loss
0 -
Why wait?
Just look at the last 2 anniversary killers. Both aren't exactly S tier.
7 -
Artist is a hard Killer to play.
If you play her more often, you'll get the hang of her
2 -
They don't have to be like Nurse but give them at least some power. The Onryo is just a powerless killer.😫
1 -
This is exactly what I'm afraid of. They release a strong killer but nerf it until it's F tier.😥
1 -
Candyman and FNAF would def bring people in but I have my doubts the trailer for this years anni made it look like DBD is on it's death bed.
0 -
Just quit today and come back when something interesting came out, as long as you are playing the game message does nothing.
1 -
Well, she is not exactly a cut and dry playstyle. She's a bit complex than that.
In reality she's pretty strong if you practiced enough, I sure have.
I mean you just played one match with her, that's like calling nurse weak because you got wrecked horribly in your first try.
0 -
New chapters bring people back regardless. It's more about making them stay.
0 -
Exactly. You can see when MMR was introduced, the playercount was going down after the release and still keeps going down.🤐
0 -
Seeing how mature and behaved DBDs fans are FNAF players would be right at home.
4 -
Everything about the Artist is annoying tbf.
5 -
I really like her chase music tbh. Ghostface's music sounds like a printer that's running out of ink.😅
0 -
Better start looking for a new game, fam.
3 -
I think I will still play survivor but if they don't take action on the cheaters / bots I think it's time to retire from DBD.😥
1 -
Yeah blame it on the game lol
1 -
Maybe you're not as good as you think...
5 -
Well a big problem is that people don't even play strong killers though. It's not always fun. If the killer is strong but unfun then no one will play them. Look at Artist. I told people yeah she may be strong but everyone is gonna quit her and I barely see her. She was fun. For like the first week. Gone. Nemesis was gone even before it released it felt.
0 -
well ok I guess?
1 -
I still see a lot of Nemesis tbh. Artist is not a strong killer in my opinion.
1 -
Let me guess, survivor main who barely plays killer?
0 -
What makes you think she's not a strong killer?
0 -
She's a tough killer. As an artist main, it took some time to get precise with her birds, and I still can struggle sometimes if the survivors are good and play unpredictably. Ultimately though, her chase power can be pretty impressive once mastered.
0 -
What makes you think she is a strong killer? Her power is useless on maps with multiple floors or maps like swamp. She's hard to play and predropping makes looping her way easier. She's just not rewarding enough to learn and play.
0 -
This isn't the airport, you don't have to announce your departure.
9 -
lmao. Your hope is foolish. You already know the outcome.

I dont think the game is very unbalanced and I have thousands of hours in the killer role alone, are there killers who could use some TLC? Sure I wouldn't disagree with that but out of all the killers I would argue that half of them are viable and the other half are geared more towards newcomers who need a simple power to get the hang of and be able to understand, I have Onryo as B tier in my book she's not super strong but she's not really weak either I'd say just like some of the other killers I have in the B tier it depends on the map whether she's gonna do well against a good survivor group
0 -
Her power isn't useless on maps with multiple floors, it's a little harder to use in the early game, but defending gens on one of the floors allows potential for 3 gens and you can basically eliminate half the map. I will admit playing artist on swamp is absolute pain, it's much harder to land cross maps with her power because of the elevation difference, but her power isn't useless.
Just because she's a hard killer to master doesn't make her not strong. Some people don't think the reward for getting downs with her birds is satisfying enough, which is fair. I understand if people don't want to put in a lot of effort to master her birds to just get a down after they have to land two. It is a lot of work, and I like it, but definitely not for everyone.
Her birds are pretty powerful in chase when you learn to place them in optimal spots, you can basically force the survivor to run a loop a certain way where they'll either get downed by the bird or get downed by an M1. I have found that is the most optimal way to play is to zone using the bird so the survivor is in a lose lose situation. In most situation, I can either get the hit because they take a bird to the face or run into the open to avoid the bird.
Pre-dropping pallets and holding W is really the main counterplay to artist. Although, even artist can counter a survivor doing this. If you identify a survivor who is doing this, you just snipe them with one bird as they drop the pallet and use a follow up bird to down them. The survivor gets locked into animation when they drop the pallet so it guarantees you that first bird swarm. Depending how close you are and if you're reaction time is quick enough, you can even down survivors who drop the pallet/vault it.
Another reason that Artist is regarded as a strong killer is because she is able to have map pressure because of the birds. She is already an anti-loop chase killer, but she is also able to pressure the gens mid chase if needed. She can send birds out to gens to either get people to let go of them or just get general info about the gens being worked on. There aren't really any characters that can check if someone is on a gen across the map while being able to check nearby gens at the same time.
For really skilled Artists and predictable survivors, you can get cross-map hits and downs, very rare though against really good survivors, but not uncommon and probably much easier than cross-map hatchets.
She's not the strongest killer, but definitely has a stronger basekit than most of the DBD killers. Honestly not hard to do though when you look at most of the DBD killers.
2 -
So you would rather have a killer you could farm BP off of that nobody wants to play?
Are you waiting for Evil Dead or something? What is this self destructive logic?
6 -
Birds hit over dropped pallets. Pre dropping a pallet doesn't change anything, you still have to leave the loop. Elevation only changes where you can long range snipe to and from. A lot of people think she's not rewarding to play because she's too damn strong.

They aren't S tier but suggesting Pyramid Head is bad is a take you could make I guess
