Remove bloodlust

No. It is perfect. It takes a long time to get going, even longer to charge up, and you lose it very easily. ALL it does is end a chase that has gone on too long. It does exactly what it is meant to do.

If you can't catch the person go for someone else.
0 -
They’re still survivor sided though enough where most killers won’t make it like a Pig on Badham or Eyrie is an automatic GG easy.
3 -
These are called infinites
Double pallet and double windows with a see through wall
2 -
No.
Bloodlust and down the person you've already spent precious time on. You don't have time to go play "Where's Waldo?" on the map.
4 -
I don't care about outdated gameplay mechanics from 2016. Please catch up to current year. It is 2022. Bloodlust is relevant to a 4v1 mechanic.
2 -
Lol true if you already wasted your time so just #########

what else would would want for killer dead hard nerf right?
0 -
No, it means the longer a chase goes on the faster the killer goes to ensure the Survivor goes down. Killers are intended to win chases. Killers are intended to win MANY chases as they are expected to get twelve hooks by game design.
2 -
Dead Hard needs to be completely reworked to do something nothing at all like what it currently does. It should not grant i-frames or distance.
3 -
Do you realize that its not the map its the killer ability blight, nurse, spirit are really good with chases
1 -
Just bait it out and you are good, boon just snuff the totem, everything has a counter.
0 -
You should know that sprint burst is stronger it just dead hard is more used. i bet it they nerfed dead hard you guys gonna complain about it (fun fact did you while doing a gen your exhaustion timer does move)
1 -
One disrespects the physics of the game by passing through terrain
One respects the physics of the game so much they've turned into a high speed pinball
One does wind sprints at you if you make her nervous enough
Not every killer can match up to that and we can just put this to bed because the devs have tested the game without Bloodlust I believe twice now ever since they originally added it. The results are pretty consistent that despite your belief infinites are gone some maps even after redesigns extend chases so long that without bloodlust the survivor basically has nothing to fear. While things that wouldn't be infinites become infinites, a psuedo-infinite if you will. Not having bloodlust seems to generally produce a bad game feel and considering there 1 perk in the game that only works when a killer gets bloodlust that they seem hellbent on not changing the feature is here for another 6 years.
3 -
Lol they probably don't give a frick so it basically pointless to talk about this
0 -
Normally, I don't feel the need to cape for the devs, but in this instance I'll do it.
If there is anything that is true about the team who work on this game is that these people care a great deal about the game. While we definitely don't see eye to eye with them on the direction the game is going at times, people constantly saying the devs don't care is a trash take. It's been a trash take I'm even guilty of having in the past myself and it couldn't be further from the truth. If they didn't care they wouldn't do the MMR test, Bloodlust tests, make killswitching as a backend tool so disabling things were less disruptive to the community. They wouldn't keep trying to elevate the content they put out. They would have taken the W early on, turned around pumped out a trash sequel and not attempt address issues.
You are right in the respect of this being pointless to talk about because you're clearly not working from a good faith position.

Literally all of these arguments have been destroyed over and over again. In fact an 18 minute video of those refutations is posted in the topic I made on this very subject.
1 -
Yea i have been playing for like 6 years so they did somethings in the past that made the game worst. they had a point to fix the game when there was like 6 maps so they could fix maps but they just pushed content and look where we are at now. its good to push but at least your game before.

Because the sole objective of the killer is to catch the survivors, he MUST be able to do so, unconditionally, there can't be any instance, by any means, where it's actually mechanically impossible for the killer to catch the survivors.
The survivors objective is not to escape the killer, but to escape the trial. During chase their objective is to stall for time, allowing their team mates to progress the escape, and so they have perks that allow them to do so.
I don't think I can explain it any clearer.
4 -
Tell me have you ever seen a swf using 4 sprint burst effectively
0 -
The thing this game needs a lot changes because if i play against a low rank killer and he can't catch is it my fault, it all comes back to balance, mmr etc so you saying i should let him down after a while of chasing so he is inclined to hook.
0 -
Yup. WAAAY less aggravating than Dead Hard.
5 -
The situation you describe implies that the killer is making mistakes. Sure, there might instances where the killer never does catch the survivor. After all there are plenty videos of "running the killer for 5 gens", however this does not mean that it was impossible for the killer to catch the survivor, but rather the killer failed to capitalize on the opportunities that arose during the chase. Killer mistakes cost time. Given enough mistakes, the time can be enough to last the whole match.
And, no, I'm not saying you should let the killer catch you. I'm saying he should have thw opportunity to do so.
The very fact that a single survivor, in a group of 4, has the possibility to run a killer for 5 gens already shows just how much of the outcome of the trial already lies in the survivor's hands, rather than the killer's.
3 -
Unless my teammates are not good at the game so much factors decide the game (killers has noed) and he slugs etc
0 -
Of course. Both parties should have a hand on the outcome. This is why I don't agree with your justification to remove bloodlust. You want to further reduce killer agency.
2 -
You're not supposed to win a 1v1 against the Killer, Bloodlust is fine
3 -
I don't think they should remove bloodlust until they fix some loops and the obvious problem of hold w. I definitely think they should remove tier 3 no matter what though, tier 3 is super unnecessary, while tier 2 is somewhat hard to determine, and tier 1 is a necessity in some loops right now.
0 -
You are meant to go down no matter what if the chase goes long enough.
4 -
It takes 80 seconds for one person to do a generator. Well assuming no mistakes and maybe 20 seconds to find one. Granted the worse the survivors the longer it takes. Bloodlust 1 takes 15 seconds to reach. Even if you hit immediately and cannot hit without it, you are still getting downed in 30 seconds. Meanwhile that's a cumulative 90 seconds the other three survivors have for free. Guaranteed at least one generator. A killer needs to down survivors up to 12 times. See the problem?
If a killer is reaching bloodlust 3, the survivor being chased has already won. 45 seconds multiplied by 3 is 135 seconds or 2 minutes 15 seconds. That is almost two generators for ONE hit, not even a down. If the survivors aren't winning at that point something is very very wrong. This doesn't factor in hook times and whether the survivors get to prevent that as well and start the whole circus over again.
Furthermore, they cannot break pallets if they want to maintain bloodlust which adds options to the survivor. It is mindboggling to me that some people do not get that the killer is supposed to eventually win. Chases aren't supposed to go on forever. The game's bad map design has really deceived people into thinking chases are supposed to go on forever.
1 -
So what you are saying we should all play blight and nurse? Most of the maps are heavily survivor sided and big so M1 killers or stealthers have hard time patrolling them. If killer chases a survivor long enough to get to bloodlust 2-3 they screwed up.
Only time i chase for that long is when you are second last or last survivor and i have time to waste on you other times ill just go find a weaker survivor and down them.
0 -
If you make the killer chase you for 45+ seconds you won the chase. I know that survivors want that high feeling of forcing a killer significantly worse than them to chase them for all 5 gens before getting out but that's not reasonable in this game.
5 -
Sure then revert the pallet hit validation because it makes most pallets a pretty safe bet and chaining them is not hard at all.
Can’t recall the last time I got hit through or got a hit through a pallet stun.
removing bloodlust would just result in more dropping of chase and endless looping neither of which is very interesting.

If they're all good survivors, they'll all run you roughly the same, you're just wasting more time switching targets. Especially considering you didn't even generate pressure with a down.
0 -
Nah bloodlust is fine. It does suck when they get it off of teammates, break chase, and catch you off guard with it.

If bhvr removes bloodlust, i want them to remove windows
I think thats a fair trade :)
2 -
I prefer them to make bloodlust a perk, same as ds or bt
0 -
Game is 4v1, not 1v1. No matter how good you are the killer should be able to catch you, obviously.
4 -
until bhvr looks into the hold w meta no

Remember the longer a single survivor is in chase with the killer the longer the other survivors just hold M1 on a generator.
While this is good for winning the game its also boring for the other survivors who if you don't go down don't get to play against the killer.
Remember a large part of the survivor's gameplay comes from interacting with the killer and if one survivor being chased forever denies the rest of the team a majority of their gameplay.
Aka its more fun for everyone if the killer can down someone as everyone gets their turn to play.
Edit: Ps true infinite loops still exist in the game which is the sole reason why Bloodlust exists. It was added to help fix broken map design and is still needed as proven with the no Bloodlust tests.

Have you ever experience being looped on the New haddonfield map inside the buildings? All Strong loops but all dead zones in the middle.
We also got Badham Maps and Fractured Cowshed/Farm Maps and the Main Buildings on Father Campbell and Asylum. Atleast try to look at 1v1 Fractured Cowshed Tournaments before you suggest something believing Maps are balanced.
Edit: Edit Better Yet. Try to play Killer at least on the Mid Level and understand if Maps are indeed Balanced.
