What do you want the game to be balanced around?
Anytime I mention making any anti-tunneling perk basekit, people freak out, so let me ask you something: Do you want the game to be balanced around tunneling, camping, and other unfun playstyles to verse? If killer is buffed in any significant way, yet these playstyles are not discouraged, then you're just gonna make survivor miserable to play. Think about it this way: If you make the most fun way to play the game the most optimal, it's gonna make the game far more fun for both sides.
Pretty much every killer can compete at high mmr, they just have to play in a very boring and tedious way. If this is the kind of balance you want, then sure, we can leave everything untouched, but if you want to have fun in the video you bought with your own money, then that is probably not the best thing for you.

Balance around high mmr. If they do this properly base kit anti-tunnel stuff is fine. You just don't do anti-tunnel base kit until we get the balance first.

The only healthy way to reduce tunneling/camping/etc is to buff not doing so so it’s not as necessary in the first place. You can make them more discouraged afterwards, but they will always still exist to some extent because there will likely always be at least some situations they’re needed. ie, the game fundamentally needs huge changes to achieve that
eg, as extreme examples, stuff like make your choice with no cooldown basekit incentivizes going for the unhooker instead of the unhooked, and then stuff like borrowed basekit but without collision so they can’t bodyblock for anyone to discourage going for them

I agree, although I do think some basekit anti-tunnel stuff would be good for steering new killers into the right direction.

How do you think discouraging camping or tunneling will work exactly?
In order to discourage a behavior you have to enact a penalty great enough that even people who just prefer to play that way won't, but at the same time a penalty can't be so disruptive to the point where people are punished for the situations where the best option is to either camp or tunnel. There aren't many options on the table because simply put, there isn't much a great deal of things people can have taken away from them that don't instantly turn into heavy disruption.
Killers already lose points for camping, but most people don't really care about that. Tunneling is just flat out impossible to stop because unless you're going to fundamentally change how play interactions function, sometimes people are just going to get caught out early. Besides teamplay and DS the options are limited until player interactions change. Keep in mind that it is a pretty big issue with the game leaning so heavily on players to be almost solely responsible for each other's fun when the two sides are by design extremely adversarial and meant to be fairly imbalanced.

Around high MMR
Cuz the meta right now at killer is Blight/Nurse/+tunnel 1 guy out of the game asap in order to have a chance to get a 4K cuz gen times are sh1tty +4 slowdown perks
and for survivors DH+DS+BT/UB+IW/CoH/PT+map offering+powerful toolboxes/medkits every game
It's and endless cycle cuz a sweaty meta survivor SWF creates a new Blight/Nurse main and viceversa
Is not fun for both sides

I think the gap between swf/solo q needs to be reduced before making big balance changes, otherwise solo q is going to be even worse.
Also i disagree about balancing the game around high MMR, the devs have said a bunch of time over and over again that the big majority of players aren't in the high mmr bracket so balancing the game around top tier players would make it unfun for lower tiers, which are the majority of players, and probably unplayable for new players.
I genuinely don't understand wanting to privilege higher MMR tiers so they don't have to sweat to win because no matter the meta if you want to play to win and be amongst the really good players you're gonna have to sweat through every game anyway, even if the game is perfectly balanced

You don't have to balance around a certain MMR so much as you have to balance the game period. I'm probably wishing for a different game altogether, but I wish the balance revolved less around perks and more around base kits. The balance turns into an absolute circus and every match is completely random before you even factor in RNG.
Plus maps affect outcomes way too much. I'm pretty much playing DbD because it's the only remotely competitive horror asymm out right now. But I'm putting in less than 8 hrs a week anymore. I've wanted something more competitive for a while and they keep going in the other direction even after releasing MMR.
