What Would You Get Hype For DbD Again?

I'd say more Mid-Chapters to fix game issues.
Hello People of Fog. We wanted improve our base game and that's not so easy. So we decided to do not release any new chapter for 6 months. We will improve game with 6 Health-Chapters (one each month).

The game would have to be reworked for me to get hyped again.
Unless your using a meta killer you need slow down perks or you need to tunnel/camp to get any progress before 5 gens are completed. A lot of killer mechanics are designed to only function if the survivors are ignoring them. Once you get survivors with brains in their heads a ton of your arsenal is useless. Maps are too big and have too many safe zones. Survivors are too safe with DH and 99ing the exit gates.
Solo survivor is terrible. swf is too powerful. Que times are long. Matches are too short if you rush gens.
The grind is too big, the developers don't understand their own game and the community is toxic.

Sounds like the killers will maybe optain the ability to mori survivors at a certain point in the game, maybe endgame and survivors are able to neglect that by doing a certain optional objective, maybe like cleansing something. Optional objective already makes it way less exciting for me.
Im not entirely against it, gameplay changes are definetly needed, but it doesnt fix the issues with the main objective of the survivors in my opinion. They still dont want to touch it.
I would like to see them taking the time to increase the health state of the game and i would even pay money to support this project but i don't see it happening.
Im looking forward to hear what they will announce as their goals for the future on the 17th, till then i dont really want to think about this topic.

1.Killer v Killer something like Freddy Vs Jason. 2.Fix all the bugs 3.Stop the stealth Nerfs to killer 4.Improve on what we already have instead of adding perks that make people angry. 5.Better add ons for Survivors and killers Specially Survivors they feel useless unless you grind forever for the red and purples.

Aesthetic: rework fog and lighting to match the actual (new) concept art more
Perk balance: finally actually nerf meta perks to being all perks more to one level. This could be huge and may flop but I am really bored of the meta while there is so many interesting perks that are just not worth equipping especially when you are not so high skilled
survivor gameplay: rework of gens and healing so that it’s more interactive outside of chases (I have an old thread with my ideas on this); also more survivor items (also plenty of concepts i made)
Accessibility: for me personally controller settings and finally bring controller maneuverability closer to M&K, especially for killer side. Also I would be pretty happy for any accessibility settings
licensed content: plenty of licenses i wanna see (I Know What You Did Last Summer, Hannibal, Blair Witch, Little Nightmares, Alien, Alien: Isolation, Dont Starve and more..)
of course better optimization and better software quality!

This is not in any particular order
1.Adding & or Reworking all the Tile/Loops in the game because the current one got stale & we really need more mindgamable loops for m1 killers.
2.New Survivor Objective Rework.Holding M1 is not really that fun

survivors having a more atmospheric experience, seeing the game darker, foggier, literally anything that would make things scary.
evening out the outliers of killer gameplay, making kicking gens useful, useless add-ons being reworked, hooks mattering more and being always the better choice than leaving a survivor slugged, getting a benefit to leave the hook and pursue another survivor.

Bring back or make it more atmospheric. I play on ultra even though it's a disadvantage most of times, and with full volume because sound design is one of best parts about this game. Playing soloQ without info perks versus ghostface, mikey, or any killer with stealth or tinkerer can still make me jump and I love that! It's as if they forgot that it's supposed to be horror game, but it's more like horror comedy most of times

Jason would make most people back to game. And then they will see BHVR made him terrible. And then they will leave again...
Jason is great slasher but BHVR is terrible to make them good.

- Solo queue buffed.
- A huge addon pass for about half the killers.
- All C and D tier killers buffed to A or B tier level.
- A bunch of map reworks.
- Grind nerfed.
- Stronger penalties for habitual AFKers and DCers.
- Player endorsement system to curb the ridiculous toxicity of this community.
- DH changed.
- Replays.
- The other side given a more generous compensation when someone DCs or suicides.
That would be a good start for me.

A road map with focuses on massive health and gameplay overhauls with a huge focus on perk reworks.
Things like new skins, maps, and interaction items with killer overhauls would be sweet, sure.
But coming out and saying "We intend to fix all of the strong and lame perks to make them all equally fun and useful" would have my heart racing.
If they said -
"We're having a little test, we're killswitching Dead Hard and NOED for 3 days and are going to be releasing a ton of data from our analytics team for the community to review"
I'd literally but the Ringu DLC and call out from work to play the game every day and be pouring over those stats.
The game needs very strong, direct, and passionate direction changes from the top down - and a very strong communication towards the community with an emphasis on transparency.
I'm very glad that the company doesn't crunch - but they should consider an autumn crunch with an extended Christmas leave.
BHVR, know it or not, is about to have one of their most important anniversary events in their history.
They don't just need a good DLC chapter.
What they need is a strong DLC chapter, followed up with a powerful PTB release of a health update -
followed up with a salvo of communication releases showing concepts that they are testing out -
followed up with a community update with some perk changes, tons of bugfixes, some free cosmetics and a new rollout for Bill, with a new map to try out their latest experiments on - followed by a powerhouse licensed DLC -
followed up by a month of bug fixes and community chats about their experiments with constant killswitch weekends and tests - followed up by a Hag/Ace update with a complete killer overhaul, reworks to totems - luck - Chest searching - map offerings - the Backwater Swamp maps - and 7 perks -
then the team can release a little bugfix and post a skeleton crew for a month during an extended vacation time in preparation for the January announcements for the winter Chapters.
June - Anniversary Event with new DLC, party lasts all month. Team gears up for the next few months with pre-production.
July - Massive bugfix health patch on PTB. Tweaked all month to perfection. Tome closes. Teams begin laying groundwork for the projected releases over the next 5 months.
August - The Entity Grows mid-chapter Bill/Health update is released.
September - Licensed Chapter release. Rapid-fire follow up patches throughout the month to prevent a CoH repeat. New Tome system rollout.
October - Tons of testing days and weekends with communications on said tests (Repeat the massive popularity of the MMR tests)
November - Against All Odds mid-chapter Hag/Ace update hits PTB
December - Release the update in its stable form and host a very simple winter event. Tome closes with a little New-Years eve bonus login event. Staff gets extended leave. Hit the ground running in January.
If they had a meeting in the next week and started making solid plans at the top level - this would not be too difficult to accomplish.

Reworking generators and survivor objectives.

A ranked competitive matchmaking option instead of clown fiesta matchmaking no matter how high your MMR is. Actually reward and incentivize skilled play if someone wants to go that route. Right now your reward for being a top tier survivor or killer is teammates/opponents who throw games for challenges with a fraction of your experience or skill. I'd be hyped for DbD again if they stopped devaluing time and effort.

I enjoyed the snowman event and the Lunar New Year event, because they gave me simple, easy tasks to do that rewarded me with free stuff. It made me want to play more because, even if my match was awful otherwise, I could always make progress on the event. That's honestly the main thing that makes me excited: feeling like I'm not wasting my time, and I got something out of the match even if it goes badly.
