The Amanda's Letter add-on for The Pig has been Kill Switched due to an issue with incorrect RBT count.

Why the game is either extremely easy or extremely difficult
You either just stomp or get stomped.
Either Survivors gen rush super hard, or the killer snowballs hard and builds up passive gen pressure with pain resonance or ruin. There is almost nothing in between.
It is very rare to see a game where both sides have equal chance of winning, leading to very close matches.
Why is it like this?

Because what would that even look like?
Either gens are getting done or they're not, people are getting hooked or they're not.
I do recall a game that kinda felt like what you're describing it was plague game on chapel and I was all set to get an easy 4k but between unbreakables them playing somewhat immersed and MULTIPLE self unhooks it turned into only a 3k. What stood out was they got an insane amount of 2nd chances though at the same time it didn't punish me that much and I was still able to keep myself from getting gen rushed to #########. The result was a very long game I think it was like 18 minutes and the fact of the matter is DBD just isn't setup to last that long on average and are usually much shorter which I think is why the stomped or be stomped feeling is there because the games feel so quick.
I do wonder if setting the game up to have longer trials would help the toxicity problem somewhat because both sides would at least try to do their own thing and not every mistake would feel so punishing. The problem is that would have the side effect of making the grind even longer and it's already ridiculous.

DbD is a game of inches. One whiff or one clever outplay can often completely collapse a game.
Resources; Health states, item durability, pallets, doors, all flow towards the killer's favor at varying rates. It rarely pauses at that one place it needs to be for a 'Close match'.
