The new player experience is apparently equally awful on Mobile.
I tried playing the mobile version not so long ago since I was curious to see which differences there are compared to the regular version, sadly I quickly regretted it.
After installing the game I had to download patches which were 33% larger than the maingame itself. After playing the tutorial and investing some bloodpoints for addons I queued up as a level 1 Trapper with a single perkslot just to be matched with survivors who were fully geared up. After a couple of minutes I heard the first boon totem go off, at that point I simply gave up and uninstalled the app.
You have to be insane if you sincerely think it's fine to match up a brandnew killer with these type of survivors. Where are the player bots which were promised? I don't see how ANY genuine newcomer would want to put up with this extremely flawed matchmaking. I'll be sticking with the pc version for now, there's no point to playing the Mobile version whatsoever.

I tried it when I was working away from home recently and uninstalled it after a few days. As you mentioned the match making is absolutely awful. I had the exact same experience. One yellow perk as a killer and constantly matched against full tier 3 perked teams. It's also clunky as hell & I could feel my thumbs aching after a few games.
I guess if they offered controller support it would be a much better experience. Funny thing is that it's perfectly acceptable to have keyboard & mouse players matched against console, which gives a massive advantage, yet they don't want to create a advantage on mobile by giving controller support. Double standards.
Another thing I noticed is that you can barely mind game a loops. Even slow vaults back & forth seem to be very hard to catch as a killer.
I guess the population is pretty small & they struggle to find killers to match against experienced players so they just throw in first timers to keep queue times down. It's also just as toxic as playing the real game and I'm guessing there are people out there that take it seriously enough to actually go out their way to set up some kinda emulator to play it on PC and gain a huge advantage.

You're spot-on about the controls, I can't see how anyone could properly play this game with just touch-controls alone. Maybe my hands are too big or I get cramps too easily from holding the phone like that but I definitely would prefer support for third party control devices. But as long as the matchmaking remains this awful I simply see no reason in ever returning to the mobile version.

The big difference is the the Mobile version lets you play against bots.
If the matchmaking is going to be awful, just play bot games.

quick question did you play on autohaven by any chance? Cause I heard they removed the bus from the mobile version cause it was to strong.

I was playing on Lery's, I was surprised to see the reworked version of the map on there. I actually expected to see some older map designs. I wasn't able to check out Autohaven but the rumor about the missing bus might be true.

Regarding bots they’re in the mobile version, I’ve played multiple games against them. Just set up a custom match and then as you do it you can set it up with bots in some or all of the other player spots. Also if a player disconnects on mobile a bot takes their place.
The only reason I don’t play mobile DbD is the controls for killer are really frustrating. If it weren’t for that I’d play it.

I don't see how playing in a custom gamemode will help, though, since it doesn't count as progress to any of the rituals or leveling I assume. How am I going to get perks and perkslots without enduring constant curbstomps from overleveled survivors?

I agree with you it would be nice if the private matches gave bloodpoints. Even so, it allows you to practice the game as a brand new player to get the hang of the controls and learn the maps and abilities.

First of all, do we agree we're talking about DBDM by bhvr and not the one developed by netease? I'm french so I can't try the netease version yet (it's only available in asia at the moment).
I used to recommend dbd mobile for people that wanted to see what dbd feels like playing since it's free. Now I don't because it feels like dbd mobile is going to be thrown away (the last content update was on 31th January and it was Mikaela).
Bhvr will give an update on dbd mobile's plans tomorrow in the anniversary stream: (for these who missed this tweet from 5/04)
If they announce they'll release the netease version in all countries, I won't expect them to grant us cross-progression between the bhvr version and the netease version for obvious reasons.
By the way, the balance in DBD mobile is currently a mess: there is still the old hatch mechanic (the hatch spawns if [number of completed generators] + [dead survivors] = 5+). Combine this with the on release CoH healing bonus at 100% healing speed and you can imagine what games look like ahah.
Edit: Also 3 more things:
- for some reasons there are many more people that want to play killer on dbd mobile
- the killer's red stain goes through walls, good luck mindgaming with that
- you can be paired with bots from the very beginning of a public game (survivors or bots). The bot player has the name of his character in this case. I've played with Dwight bots and a Doctor bot (I looped this one the whole game around a pallet). That's different from when a player disconnects and gets replaced by a bot (you'll only see them having a score of 0 BP).

Im pretty sure you get half blood points for the custom matches but don't quote me on that, it seems like I heard someone mention that recently

Now I don't know why that one comment got deleted (someone was talking about the anniversary stream and how DbD Mobile would get some significant changes) but apparently that game still has CoH at 100% bonus healing speed. That's just plain insane. Do they really think killers want to play against THAT?

I made a typo, so I edited it too much times apparently (it's suspended for verification).
Yeah yeah, the balance is insane. I'm pretty sure old haddonfield is still on dbd mobile too (at least it was in march)
