Remember last year they announced nerfed Moris are still toxic and gone ahead to implement Boons which Half of the Playerbase said that it was a bad idea to implement.

Why would they address the Stranger Things license? And even then, what do you want them to say that hasn't been said already? If they could get the license deal back up, there's no doubt in my mind that they'd do it.

We will not be discussing the removal of the Stranger Things Chapter - we gave out all the information on this at the time.
As for what else is in the Stream...only a few hours to go until you find out. I do suggest watching with an open mind and not going in with preconceived ideas on what is expected in the stream.

I was hoping some transparency on the bad things that happened on the 5th year as well and an Assurance that "I know you guys loved out best dog Killer. Moving forward in the future. We'll be trying to not let this happen ever again"
Edit: Not addressing the bad things that happened as well feels like People sweeping the mess under the rug imo.

That’s actually not possible to promise with licensed content. The contracts have to be renewed after some time and both party’s can decide to not renew if they want to..
i am pretty sure BHVR didn’t directly want the ST content to go, as it did bring in new players and especially with the new season on the horizon it wasn’t really the best decision for them to lose the license

Fingers crossed for:
- Facecamping solution
- Grind solution
- Solo queue statuses
- Some more killer buffs for Onryo, Ghostface (I'm still wondering why he needed a nerf) etc.
- SBMM backfill issues fixed
- Player endorsement system to try and stem the toxicity (and massive unfriendliness) of this community.
That would actually be an elegant sufficiency for me.

I'm on the side of Negative but I still care for the game. The thing most concerning is that whatever the results is for the stream, a portion of the playerbase that quit won't be coming back as they don't care anymore.

The thing about that is - horror games are niche. APvP games are niche. Horror APvP games are thus doubly niche.
It's sort of amazing that DbD ever became as big as it is.
Last year was a massive confluence of a variety of things - the anniversary, combined with the RE chapter. It could just be that DbD's peak is somewhere around the current level, and if it ever goes above that, it will eventually naturally decay back to this level.

When I stop having fun, I stop playing the game and enjoy some other games, or attempt to be productive IRL.
Eventually I'll get the hankering for some more DbD and come back.

Ok, i´ll try to be open minded. I´m honestly counting the hours until the stream starts. I just hope, that the anniversary codes won´t be voided once the stream is over. Like last year. I want to watch the stream from my couch and don´t power up my pc just for the codes.

- It’s unlikely we’ll hear any changes on Facecamping, mainly because it’s something they’re worked on apparently on and off for a long time and never found a solution that was effective but that also didn’t break something else. But who knows, I’d love to be wrong!
- I’ll be a bit surprised if they don’t give details on the bloodpoint revamp they’ve been working on for six months.
- It’s also been six months since they mentioned working on new status icons for solo survivors so that seems likely too.
- Sadako’s first full balance pass is probably next midchapter is my guess, the full chapters tend to focus more on the new killer. But again, if I’m wrong great!
- They already implemented the backfill related MMR changes they discussed in that big blog post a month ago. One change they didn’t do yet was they said they are planning to adjust the MMR algorithm to treat survivors as an actual team for purposes of going up or down versus every survivor being treated independently. That would address the situations where one survivor sacrifices themselves to help everybody else escape but loses MMR in the process currently.

Are you sure about the backfill thing? I'm not finding any details, and I can say anecdotally that backfill still seems to produce some really Kafka games on my end.

To clarify they said they adjusted the length of time it took before someone’s acceptable MMR bracket for matchmaking reached its maximum and also narrowed those ranges. I could be misremembering but I thought they also backfill timer too as part of that, but if I’m wrong my bad.
Backfill’s probably always going to be a thing though unfortunately. They don’t want four people standing around for ten minutes in a lobby that’s already formed so the system does need to put someone in those lobbies pretty quickly. The only way to get rid of the problem is to not show the other players at all until the game actually starts to remove the incentive for people to leave lobbies because “I don’t want to play with three Davids” or whatever.

Pretty sure the removal was entirely out of their power. It would be an incredibly foolish move for a comapny to abandon an IP like that.

I do wonder on face camping specifically, not camping or tunnelling. Like a fix shouldn't be that hard considering how obvious it is someone is doing it. One possible fix would be that a survivor dies on hook MUCH slower if they are actively being face camped (i.e within a very small distance of a hooked survivor with no other survivors in that radius) as well as loading screen tips about this very factor. The entity likes to savour his food in peace, don't get in his face.
Therefore it at the very least encourages a killer to move elsewhere and give the survivors a chance for a rescue unless they are playing a very specific killer for face camping (e.g Bubba). They can still camp but being up in the face is a no no. Of course they can still do it but at that point they are throwing the game to be a 'not a nice person' and the amount of ways survivors have to do this is immense so...

We're talking about Stranger Things, right?
I always assumed that Netflix came along and said something like, "Yeah, getting 60% of the profit for letting you use our character is cool, but you know what would be cooler? 75%. We're one of the biggest franchises in the world right now, and you have to have us." And then DBD rightfully told them to go play with themselves, knowing that if they caved, word would get around, and they'd have to cave to the next company who asked.
Either that, or Netflix plans to bring back the characters at some point, but wanted to take them away for a period in order to artifically inflate their value and create interest in them for when they drop Stranger Things Season 19: Jesus Christ When Will This Story End So I Can Stop Reading About It In My Goddamn Facebook Feed And I Don't Know Who Needs To Hear This But Stranger Things Doesn't Hold A Candle To Any Other Licensed Franchise In DBD It's Really Not That Great Watch Something Else.
