Nerfing gen regression perks is bad and unhealthy for the game

Corrupt, Pop, Scourge and Ruin are under the radar to get nerfed/reworked (alongside survivor second chance perks). But nerfing gen regression perks is really unhealthy for the game, and will encourage more tunneling and camping. Let me speak for myself first, i use Corrupt so the first gen or two doesn't get done in the first minute of the match. Scourge hooks and pop reward the killer for going for chases and hooks, which is a much better playstyle than camping or tunneling (exactly what survivor mains want right?). So if you nerf these gen regression perks then killers will know they don't stand a chance against gen speed, so they'll resort to tunneling one person out asap to even the odds. Gen regression perks is the only thing stopping me from camping and tunneling, without them you can't go for loads of chases and hooks against good and efficient survivors (because all gens could be done in 5 mins). Why do you think killers are using so much gen defense perks anyways? I'd love to use more chase perks and creative builds, but due to gen speed it just isn't possible (maybe possible against not so efficient teams). Endgame is longer than the actual match without gen defense perks. So yeah if you nerf gen defense, say hello to more tunneling and camping.

    I just wish they'd nerf the perks you see in every game a little bit and buff/rework all of the obtuse or useless ones to bring them in line with the newly-nerfed meta ones. The good perks don't need to be made equally useless.

    This is why I wish they would give us old ruin back. It either got cleansed in a matter of seconds at the beginning of the trial or lasted until you got at least 3 hooks.

    Im all for BHVR tuning slow down and regression perks to see what their next move is going to be, but I doubt they'll address the reasoning why killers run slowdown

    I HOPE its because they're making both wglf and bbq's bp bonus basekit, and instead giving those perks new effects

    That depends.

    IF they implement some base changes to the Survivors main objective first and then nerf the Killers gen defence Perks, I think this will be a very healthy change for the overall game.

    But you can not just keep gens as they are right now and nerf the Killers attempt to somehow gain ground in this game.

    Just as a reminder, the same team that thought that the original COH was fine, that buffed Boil Over was fine are going to be making these huge sweeping changes all at the same time. I cannot even begin to imagine the absolute clownery that is going to be the first few months with insane balancing issues. If we thought that perks were unbalanced now just wait until they go live.
