A perk combo I like but teammates don't see the usefulness

I run self-care and Prove thyself because both are useful soon enough I realized if someone rescues me we go to a gen they repair while a heal near them giving them Prove thyself but most teammates will constantly teabag none stop even though clearly Prove thyself people will say it's not even a good speed boost. People run spine chill that's not a good speed boost Prove thyself is a speed boost for repairs which is perfect for healing yourself with teammates near by for the boost they get but why don't people just realize it.

but if your rescuer does the gen solo prove thyself doesnt work? It only applies the speed boost to yourself?

    • Prove Thyself:Increases your Repair speed by +15 % for each other Survivor
    •  within 4 metres of your location, up to a maximum of +45 %.
    • This effect is also applied to all other Survivors within that range.
    • Grants 50/75/100 % bonus Bloodpoints for Co-operative actions.

Literally says Increases your repair speed by +15%

No OP is right, if you're near a gen with Prove Thyself - you will increase the speed of somebody's repairs if you're not on the generator

I don't 100% know the math of it but I've def seen situations where I've been on a gen and the bar turned yellow before the person with PT got on

What does the 3rd line say? "This effect is also applied to all other Survivors within that range."

Yup. A nearby Dwight will make your gen repair yellow

Yep it’s not a bad combo at all. It lets the other person do the gen 15% faster while you selfcare for 32 seconds.

Let’s assume the gen is at 0 when you start.

You take 32 seconds to heal, other surv does gen solo for 32 seconds at 1.15 speed. 32 * 1.15 = 36.8. This is the amount of gen progression they’ve made (in charges) while you were healing.

Then you finish the generator with them. You both have a 15% bonus, and a 15% efficiency debuff. 1.15(1 - 0.15) = (0.9775).

    0.9775(2) = 1.955 (combined repair speed)

    80 - 36.8 = 43.2 (gen charges remaining)

    43.2 / 1.955 = 22.10

So you’ve healed and finished the gen with your teammate in 22.10 + 32 = 54.10 seconds.

If you let your teammate heal you instead (without selfcare) that’s 16 seconds, and then the entire generator will take 80 / 1.955 = 40.92 with prove thyself only. Adding the healing time makes it 56.92. So you save almost 3 seconds for yourself and for your teammate by selfcaring near your teammate.

Thanks for doing the maths. - Almost three seconds are not at all bad and if gen pressure is what's needed and the two of you in a relatively safe spot then yeah - that's something I'll look out for/try to keep in mind when someone nearby is self caring next to gen-doers (be that myself or someone else).

That being said, I think there are also situations where it is helpful that a survivor is healthy after 16 instead of 32 seconds. It's not about the "time saved on gens" but a question of "after 20 seconds one survivor is healthy, or two". E.g. when the killer shows up or protection hits need to be taken for one reason or the other. In the former case you will be the killer's target (which is probably a ok if you enjoy looping and are good enough at it to make do with one health state) in the latter case you're out of the picture until you've finished self-caring.

For maximum benefit, also run Botany Knowledge, and in the case of a premade, have your teammate run Leader. That changes the 32 second heal to a 20 second heal, meaning you can touch the gen faster yourself.

prove thyself is fine but selfcare is such a time sink let others heal you when they can and just bring a medkit if you wanna solo heal
