I've never particularly liked playing as wraith so I'm in the same boat

I completely forgot that they nerfed him right after he was fun and viable. I guess I forgot because no one plays him anymore lol, good job BHVR

Nah I still enjoy him. It was rough at first right after the nerf but I’m used to it now

I couldn't even play him before the nerf.
He just isn't for me. Cloaking/uncloaking annoys me.

I only play him for dailies or when I'm throwing (e.g. rifts)
2 -
he speed is still nice but that extra bit of speed was enough to make him feel like more than a m1 killer, having to play the game frankly just isn't fun

play wraith with this build
AGITATION, STARSTRUCK, BBQ and BAMBOOZLE
addons:
SHADOW DANCE, SWIFT HUNT

Yeah
I have him with MMR tanked af cuz I only use him for XP farming

The only bright side to Wraith getting gutted was that it made me realize that Blight exists. High speed like Wraith, but even more fun to play.

I played him once for a daily and it felt awful. He slams the breaks on hard, and it even cancels out the lunge if you do it to late.
Sad thing is he is still a noob stomper so expect more nerfs like a white outline while in stealth.

I play him sometimes with the silent bell add-on. The speed boost nerf doesn't matter if they don't hear you coming anyway.

I haven't played Wraith since his first nerf. He's just not that fun to play anymore.

Same... But I do that a lot. His daily is rigged or something and there are a lot of Wraith friendly challenges in the rift. I play him so much despite the fact that I do not really enjoy him that much. Wasted slot in Hooked on You, if you ask me.

Yeah I agree.

I don't understand what the process to chose the characters for that game was.
The only one of that lot that seem appropriate is Rin. I find Anna kind of repulsive, especially given how muscular they made her.
There were many better choices : Sally, without her traditional wrappings, isn't a hottie but still looks way better than the rest of the roster. Carmina and Adriris aren't too bad looking either.

I dont like playing weak killers so I never really played him anyways

He's about the same TBH. You miss more hits yes, but in the end, he played better at hit and run, before the nerf. Assuming there is no COH, I play him mainly the same and the change has little impact on this.

I still can't find a logical reason he got nerfed

I've played a couple of games with him this week and...my god he is utterly garbage against decent survivors unless you use the faster pallet breaking and automatic uncloaking addons. My poor boy didn't deserve this.

Cause people legitimetly thought a Beginer killer was OP. A killer that can only go fast when he can't attack and can only attack when he isn't fast. He has some nice add-ons and that's where the issue came from, his add-ons are mostly decent and elevate him a bit but not to the extent to where people can't beat him easily. Wraith's changes are a classic case of IGNORANCE from the complainers and Damage Control from BHVR.
BHVR listened to the "his lunge is OP" and forgot he has nothing else.... He's still just an M1 killer, he still needs all the help he can get. What does it matter if you're invisble if you can't attack? What does it matter if you're fast if you can't attack and you slow yourself down so much to be able to attack...
BHVR just listenned to casual whinners and the casual whinners won because DbD is a Casual game.

I play a lot of Wraith, been playing him through all his changes.
I have nothing to complain about really.
Like what's your problem with the lunge?

Unpopular Opinion:
Wraith is my main and Im fine with the last nerf! I've been playing him since 2017 when he was really weak. He wasn't OP before the last nerf, but he's still viable. The only thing that has changed is that I almost always have Swift Hunt with me and I have to do more body blocking with him. My success rate is almost unchanged. I can take on the toughest sweat groups with him without stressing myself because Wraith is relatively easy to play compared to other killers.
In retrospect, I'm even happy about the nerf for two reasons:
- Every noob killer played him and he was a noobstomper. In Solo Q I've seen him in 80% of my matches for a while... it was annoying. He had the same pick rate like reworked Freddy. And I personally like to play the underrated underdogs like Doc, Artist, Billy, Old Freddy, Myers or Sadako
- The nerf wasn't that hard given what they did to Deathslinger. So I hope they will never touch my Wraith again.

They picked the most popular killers. The last popularity survey bhvr did showed wraith, huntress and doctor as the most popular killers, and they seemed to think wraith was the most popular because people loved his playstyle instead of him just being the "easy mode" killer at that point in time. Doctor also probably wouldn't fit their aesthetic and him and wraith are probably played a lot less now. Trapper, spirit and huntress are (or were in spirits case) very popular so it's not a surprise. If they make a dlc it'll probably include susie

At some point the dev should realize this kind of move makes players leave.
Adjusting to the lowest skills just makes the game boring or awful for the more experienced players.

He was my main prior to the nerf and COH release, he is enjoying his retirement atm.
2 -
Played him for Adept & achievement and he was meh.
I suppose if you wanna run his best addons every match he's still ok. Won't be playing much him much I don't think.

one or two newer players thought he was too stronk

With respect, Artist and Billy are not "underrated underdogs". Low play rate =/= bad. They're strong killers, even in high MMR, if played correctly.

his nerf didn't do much and he pretty much feels the same. I'd play him over deathslinger for example cuz his nerf was way too much unlike wraith's.

I'll still play Wraith once in a while, I don't find him that bad. In the hands of a good killer, he can shine regardless.

I actually totally agree with you. I phrased it badly. Artists and Billy are underrated for me because many do not recognize their potential. Billy is still not as weak as many think. He's just clunky to play. They are underdogs for me because (unfortunately) I rarely meet them.
The rest of the killers I've listed are either rightly underrated or not.
