Tunneling And Camping Changes With The 40 Perk Rework - Confirmed!?
Comments

True, but you can used it Offensively; to body block another Survivor at doorway, exit gates, pallets; etc. To protect another Survivor; especially the rescuer when they are injured or be instant down. If only BT works in running away from a tunnelling killer and not works for protection hits for a fellow teammate. And sure, you can wait 12 seconds; but by then, the Survivor could have found a nearby pallet or window by then; or used their DS by force ( does a slow vault, go into a locker, etc.) by then.
DS isn't has grand as it used to be; but can still be powerful; due to the meta of tunneling, because COH and gen speeds.
Dead Hard; it is just simple a Agony induced Exhaustion perk for Killer; at the touch of a Button; when it comes to looping and making impossible distance/3rd health states.

So long as these changes take into consideration things I assume they do. As a completely random example, you can't nerf base gen speeds to be longer in an attempt to make gen regression perks not meta, because killers will still use them to make the game easier. So, I hope you're thinking these changes you're making to meta perks or making basekit with higher MMR in mind, because while camping and tunneling suck, there is a reason they exist and your changes can have even more negative consequences, too
Also important to consider, say, if BT is made basekit, it also frees up another perk slot, which in itself is its own form of added strength.

I don't know if I 100% agree that DS isn't necessary.
I do hold onto it, but it's because a lot of killers try to tunnel me lol. I often find that when I take DS off or play on one of the survivors I play without DS, I get killers that beeline back to hooks and try to shove me out of the game at 4 gens just to make it a 3v1.
DS is often the difference between a full game and a bad game for me honestly. I prefer to have it in every build, honestly.
I think tunneling and camping are 2 things that absolutely need to be addressed in a game rework. I think it'll do wonders for the health of the game, and I'm really excited for the perk overhaul and base overhaul as well. :)

To be honest, second chances basekit versus regression base kit would HEAVILY favor survivors. So, I guess it could totally happen.
I would hope their solution is not that simplistic and shortsighted, however. That would be tragic.

Changes should be equal to both sides but I have a feeling killers won't get as good base kit buffs.

I can hope they'll improve the game.
But I don't think the changes id want will appear...I don't have too high hopes.
I don't think it'll change tunneling and camping though. Not that much anyway

As a survivor main I agree with every bit of that. The biggest problems survivor have are the fault of survivors. The overwhelming majority of survivors utilize zero strategy playing this game.

You're saying people will have to use skill to safely unhook??????????? terrible game 0/10.

Ok you've just proven you either don't play enough killer or you're just lying. Using borrowed time offensively is a thing, stop trying to gaslight us into thinking it's not.

I hope for the best.
But there is still that feeling that instead of simple good changes there will be super complex solutions and changes which turn out to go into the completely opposite direction, as they did already...

Eeeh... while I think survivors need a bloodpoint bonus even more than killers do, I don't think We're Gonna Farm Forever is a good way to do it. The thing with BBQ is that it promotes dynamic gameplay and encourages the killer to switch targets, which is good from a general fun perspective. WGLF encourages survivors to race each other to unhooks regardless of safety (as long as the guy lasts 15s, which BT will usually allow, you don't care if they go down two seconds later) and kill themselves taking pointless protection hits. It's not a substitute for true altruism.
I like the idea of giving survivors a bloodpoint bonus to mirror BBQ, but I think it'd be better split among categories - last in chase for 45s = 25%, repair a full gen = 25%, get a safe unhook = 25%, heal someone or pick them up from the dying state = 25%. Or something like that.

I'm very excited about this. Its going to be interesting to see what all changes happen and how it affects the game. If it all encourages players on both sides to play in a more sportsmanlike manner then I think it'll be good for everyone and the game. I'm really looking forward to hearing more about this.

I don’t consider being able to take one protection hit for your unhooker or anyone else for 12 seconds “offensive” it’s a great way to use it.

People are constantly taking this tunneling and camping as an issue but what about the killers issues? We have huge maps..lets be honest most maps are heavily survivor sided. We have gens that go by fast since prove thyself is almost in every game + toolboxes. WE have SWFS that almost everytime annihilate the killers unless they are too altruistic or new. We have breakable walls...who came up with that? its horrible.
We have bodyblockers, only killer that can go through them is Sadako. We have people that abuse BT / DS at the endgame, lets be honest DS should not activate anymore when gens are done.
So yeah tunneling and camping happens DUE to these issues quite often. How about we check whats wrong with the basegame and not make it worse?
Sure there are killers that facecamp your beautiful face from hook one but that killer most likely if survivors play correct wont get more than 1-2 kills. Sure there are killers that will tunnel from first hook, but id say if the gameplay was more BALANCED a lot of us wouldnt have to resort to tunneling.
I for one try to play as fair as i can and i stack up gen defense because im a slow huntress, but still most of the times with my first chase 1 gen pops maybe even 2 depending on their perks and items. Unless i get super lucky and find them fast (i don't use lethal ) How do you want me to play fair after that? I know im at disadvantage so i have to put my mean girl pants on and tunnel 1 person out of the game to put pressure back to them.
So yeah...help survivors so they wont be camped and tunneled but also help the killers be able to kill without losing all the gens in 3 minutes and being bodyblocked / DSed at the endgame.

don't count on it, or better... they always knew that, but they don't care (as long the people keep whining but playing the game they won't have reason to change)

Lets not forget that this is the same team that thought 25% wiggle progress Boil Over and 100% healing speed COH was a good idea lol. These guys literally don't play the game.

This right here is why this game needs to fundamentally change. The first picture is me and after I died on hook I had the displeasure of watching it happen to another person on my team. Every time a killer does this the whole point of the game is ruined. This is not good for the game at all. I don't know what all is coming to DBD with these changes being talked about but I can only hope that it somehow makes it to where we see a lot less of this in the game.

You didnt give information about this game. First of all RPD and pinhead not a good combination. Poor guy is just a basic M1 in a huge map.
Did you guys put this map offer? Did you guys abuse boons or boil over? If you didnt then maybe he just thought this is the best option for this map.

I don't recall the RPD offering being used or any boon totems. I was found fairly early in the match so my only guess is the killer simply didn't like the map and took it out on us. If not that then they simply camp for the sake of camping. Either way, there is no excuse for people to do this in my opinion.

Many hates that map with passion and just doesnt feel like even trying. So did he end up with 1 or 2k?

I didn't stick around after Mikaela died on hook. The killer made their point and I had seen enough. Hating the map is one thing but to put that frustration on the survivors isn't right. I personally like the RPD map. I still don't know how to navigate well but overall I like that it is very different from the other maps and a place that is nostalgic to me being an RE fan.

There's no such thing as abusing BT / DS in the endgame. Everything is fair in the endgame. Camping and tunneling don't happen due to any particular issue, it happens because killers feel like it.
Bodyblocking with BT is more than fair given that you can just hit them to prevent it in the first place, and that survivor then has to mend which is free pressure.
Killers dole out well-meaning advice such as "If someone's being tunneled or camped, just rush gens.", "Bring BT and DS", "Bodyblock to prevent tunneling", etc. Then act surprised when survivors actually take their advice.
Part of why gens get done so fast is because survivors don't have a meaningful secondary objective. Another part is cooperative gen repair speeds. The long and short of it is that the game has become too fast. Older mechanics that worked well at the time now need to be looked at and adjusted or reworked.
As for huge maps, well, you won't find survivors complaining if they suddenly got removed.
