Why does everyone try so hard during events?

It seems like in every bloodpoint event, especially now, both sides try ridiculously hard and BM much more than usual.

There are a bunch of tunneling nurses with insane tracking perks and slowdowns, and Legions with 4 slowdowns and the strongest add-ons.

There are survivor squads running 4 toolboxes or 4 med-kits, with the same exact builds of DH, BT, Unb, DS.

When killers tunnel, they get less bloodpoints. When survivors hammer gens, they get less bloodpoints.

So why do these events bring out the worst in people. Not only do both sides bring ridiculously strong items, but it seems like there is much more BM.

That’s what I’ve been saying. I’ve just switch to only playing killer. I 2 hook everyone and chase and break pallets. Doing that for a bit has finally gotten me to a low enough mmr that it’s now become super easy to farm bp. My last 5 matches I got everyone hooked twice at 5 gens

The single most important thing that you have to understand is that those kind of nurses already have all the bloodpoints in the world that they would ever need. It's not about getting BP, it's about denying BP. A significant portion of the killer playerbase is compromised of flat out sociopaths that are one horrible day away from making headlines. They don't tunnel, 4 men slug for bleedout at 5 gens or facecamp because they want to win desperately for the only validation they'll ever get in their life in a videogame, but because they want other people to be more miserable than they are. Once you realize this, a lot of killer behavior makes sense.

And when people constantly go up against the strongest possible killer, with the strongest possible addons with the strongers possible perks, it's really not that super surprising that survivors have to somehow even the playing field. Doesn't excuse the BMing of course, but most survivors are manchildren so what can you expect.

Because these people are extremely miserable. I gave up trying to play survivor because the killer's are just insanely boring to go against.

Then as soon as a switch to killer, I get a 4-man swf that farms with me and is super dorky and fun. Farming as killer it is.

Yup, I agree. But it happens with other games too like OVerwatch & GTA Online. These event weeks just bring out the worst of the worst for some reason. Makes you wonder what the hell were they playing before.
