WHY TF ARE THERE STILL LAG ISSUES?!?!?
It has been almost 2 years i think since nemesis dropped and since then there has been unplayable lag on the game for console and i know the whole "just get a pc" thing but NO u shouldnt need to spend 1000 dollars to play a game worth two nickels also i play against mainly pc players oh and guess what? THEY DONT GET LAG so im stuck losing bc of bs devs that dont know how to do there job the game was literally fine HOW IS IT WORSE??? I understand if it slowly got better but its literally worse than the game years ago devs i hope u see this just so u know how bad at ur own job u guys are and yea im complaining! But i shouldnt lose an entire match bc a pc player dead hards and by the time my frames go back hes across the map 29293992 gens popped and they are healed :)

The "just get a PC" argument doesn't hold up because there's no Cross Progression (nor is it likely ever coming) and the grind of this game is insane, no matter what changes are coming. Starting over from scratch on all characters after thousands of hours is a deal breaker for most.

So true, it is very disapointing.
My girlfriend can't play this game after the most recent update to the engine and she has a better pc than I do.
Now she has to restart over on the switch because she loves this game that much but her and our friends and I know how much she wishes there was Cross Progression.
Behavior start caring...

They are working on it for years, i don't know how you can still have hope in them, they also announced the same roadmap of last years with 4 chapters, which means no game health patch till year 7.
The only thing i can suggest you is to turn crossplay off and suffer with people of your platform to make it more "fair".
And if i was you I'd have quit the game because this is just unacceptable.

I'm guessing you're playing on XOne or PS4? The lag is a known issue caused by hard drive of those consoles. When I got my XSX, which has a SSD, the lag issue was completely gone. I think there is no fix to this problem because I'm guessing it is more of a hardware problem than software.

My Xbox1x also sports one of those SSD thingys, and I still get lag all the time from triggers known for years.

I use to have a lot of issues as well, but I upgraded to Xbox Series X, ever since I've had very few problems. If you are still on a last gen console, not much you can do about it, as it's likely a hardware issue. If you have an XSX or XSS, it could be your router that is the issue. If it's neither of those, I don't know what to tell you.

What’s super frustrating is that the game ran just fine on my PC when I started playing a few years ago, and today it runs worse than ever. I’m not aware of any major changes that have been made to the graphics in the game that would tax my hardware so much more (someone please correct me if I’m wrong). The only thing I can conclude is that the game code optimization has just been getting worse and worse over time.

The Realm Beyond? It updated the graphics for older maps and older killers and survivors. Not to mention as the game continues to add new content the graphics become better. It's not that any "one" update did it, it's slowly become a more and more complex.

I used to play on Ps4 and I thought it got fixed. I bypassed the freezes by installing dbd on a SSD and connected it to my ps4. The game ran very good again. Maybe that helps

I play on an Xbox1x, which already comes with a SSD. I believe @Pulsar connected his old Xbox1x to a SSD bought for the purpose of seeing if it made any difference. It did not.

That's correct, it did not.
I couldn't recommend anyone get an SSD in an attempt to fix it, but maybe it's different for the base PS4 and Xbox One since they have an HDD by default?

It is not a hardware issue.
Other better looking games run without frame drops on my 2013 Xbox One.
Black Ops 3 on the mf xbox 360 runs better

Edit : i play on ps4 and yes nemesis has been out barely a year my b its not a hardware issue my 6 YEAR OLD PS4 could run this game 60 frames constant 2 years back how IS IT WORSE

No literally I’m so tired of it. Everytime a gen is done, someone unhooks, someone fast vaults when the killer has I’m All Ears, Nemisis’s Tenticle Strike, When Legion goes into frenzy, I’m over it!!

I miss skill checks when a survivor is hooked because of frame drops. Sloppy still causes frame drops. Nemesis infection still causes frame drops. Unhooking causes frame drops. It's frustrating.

Damn that sucks balls. I hope you can get a PS5 or Xbox Series somehow. No problems on there at all.
Or bhvr fixes everything but at this point idk anymore. It’s been a long time already
