Jumping the shark, is it all down from here? Attack on titan x Dead by Daylight
Look I know "hooked on you" may look like the death of the game, but it's a side thing. Own separate entity type of deal. From what I can tell it does not directly affect the main game. But this crossover? What are they thinking? Attack on Titan isn't a horror anime. It's a suspense action one from what I remember. It doesn't fit with DBD at all, and the worse part is what in the world are they going to write for the event's cosmetics. For the cosmetics' history, and lore descriptions. What in the world can they write that doesn't break the game's story completely because I got nothing? I don't envy the writers who have to write for this one bit. Seriously who in marketing approved this. Look I'm just saying if your gonna include an anime do a horror one. Here are a couple I can think of. Mild spoilers
Another: The plot of this anime is that a long time ago a class lost a beloved student. However, nobody could accept their death so they pretended that the student was still alive moving that class closer to death. From then on a dead former student of the class would join every year causing people in that class both students and close family members to die because they were close to death. You could use some of the characters who died, or the main characters in the anime as survivors, and maybe make the student who started this whole thing a killer. Though that won't be true to the plot.
Corpse Party: Another good one is about a group of high school students who botched a friendship charm and are sent to a place known as heavily host elementary school where they are hunted by the ghost of some elementary school students who were brutally murdered there, along with other people who botched the charm and have gone insane because of the dimension there in and the horrors they've seen. Survivors could be some of the less anime-looking characters from the main cast, as for the killer a reskinned ringu could work for the main ghost of Sachiko, or the legion as the insane student Yuuya Kizami.
As for another popular anime they could have worked with try Death note. The shinigami could be an excellent creepy killer, and Light could be the survivor believing somehow he will escape because of his ego.
The fourth one could be the game/anime Angels of Death. Which already has serial killers in it. It's gift-wrapped for DBD.
I'm just saying why and the world did they choose Attack on Titan, and when do you think the magical girls will show up? Because it is inevitable at this point 😒. Though I will admit a psycho cosplayer could be an interesting concept

DBD jumped the shark when it added in Resident Evil. That's why they're doing it again.

i still think an uzumaki chapter would be sick, with the anime coming out this year i'd be so happy if we get that.
although if bhvr is just adding whatever now i personally can't wait for the evangelion crossover

There could very well be a universe where the survivors we know are from the Attack on Titan universe.
I would love all that you listed to show up.
Magical girls would be amazing. Magical Girl Apocalypse, Magical Girl Site, Yuka Yuna is a hero, Madoka Magica, and Magical girl raising project are fantastic horror anime with mahou shoujo themes

Attack On Titan is a popular anime, so it'll probably sell well. Plus there's a lot on non-horror cosmetics in the shop already, so adding AOT content isn't a big deal. And DBD isn't strictly a horror game, it's more like a horror themed PvP. DBD stopped being scary in 2019.

Another is pretty goated, but who cares they have dresses and rabbit outfits.
Most outfits are just cosmetics based on non horror themes. Nea has a literal snow skin

As long as it'll sell it doesn't have to make sense. DBD does not really care about their lore.

Not a fan of anime myself, but I don't really see much of an issue. If people like it, then whatever.

I made a corpse party fan chapter on the forums before lol but Higurashi would've looked GREAT in DBD total missed chance for Corpse Party and Higurashi

Madoka Magica is horror?

Maybe Junji Ito has worked with netease so it might not be far off, Especially since identity v is kind of just a crappier DBD

Well. what I would consider a psychological/Artistic Horror.

Stranger Things also isn't horror yet that translated flawlessly.

I think you could make it a point of being Sci-Fi with horror elements

I mean they made Trickster literally to maybe hook some k-pop fans on the game, so Attack on Titan is also more of a marketing choice (as people are saying), than lore/theme decision.
Also I think the early concepts for the outfits are a decent adaptation of the anime into the dbd reality. Look wise.

Eh, AoT is dark fantasy which tends to incorporate elements of horror. It works imo. I mean horror as it is, is pretty broad anyway.

Its a really exciting thing really.
Also trickster might not be scary or Monstrous looking. but I think his whole point is the "Surprising Killer" person who doesn't look like a killer

I think they're trying to appeal to different crowds and seeing how it turns out. It does feel very random. The attack on titan announcement didn't appeal to me at all. I just have no interest in it so I probably won't be buying the cosmetics (unless they look really cool on a survivor I play). The thing is though, it may make some AoT fans aware that DBD exists and they may try the game. I don't think it will draw in huge crowds, but I also don't know the data behind AoT interest and horror genre appeal.
As for the dating sim game, I think its silly but I also think that was part of the idea behind it. I don't think its going to appeal to a majority of DBD players by any means. For me its hard to see DBD killers in a different light when you're so used to being hunted down and killed by them. I think thats why it didn't appeal to a lot of people. One thing is for sure, I'll never get the images of Trapper and Huntress in swimsuits out of my head. 🤣

I've never watched it I didn't mean that condescendingly I just didn't know cause all the previews I've seen of it scrolling through netflix makes it look like a friendship magical girl anime

I don’t see an issue with it personally. They’ve opened the door to more wacky ideas already (trickster, mr puddles) so this will fit in fine

Imo they did that with Stranger Things.

Yep and I think this is why some people thought it was very random as a crossover. It certainly is nothing I would've ever considered or thought would make it into the game. I love your name by the way. Its so full of truth! 😀

Well, it started a trend of dark mahou shoujo

I don't find the clothing for Attack on Titan aesthetically interesting. I also think that DbD would've been better off doing AoT cosmetics before the manga ended, because the series' popularity dipped after that mess of an ending.
I'd prefer Junji Ito cosmetics. Identity V got some, and I envy them that so much.
Fatal Frame would make for a good chapter (yeah, it's a game, but I'm gonna plug it anyway). Pumpkin Night could have cosmetics potential. In general I don't find myself wanting to see anime/manga in DbD.
Wait, is a Chainsaw Man cosmetic for Hillbilly an option? I might actually play Hillbilly if that were an option.

I am hoping for a fatal frame chapter so badly. I hope it gives us a killer we can see through. but I doubt it

Didn't we actually get to vote on it in the last Feedback Form? I don't wanna point fingers at anyone but I seem to remember a section on 'crossover pick one' Maybe one of the Mods can remind us?

That's true.

I forgot about fatal frame that is a good one
