DBD makes a ton of money so why do so many licenses get neglected?
Losing the Stranger Things license and not getting another big license since it has really made the player base lose passion for the game! Other big licences like Halloween and Elm Street never get content. The only one that does Is RE and lets face it the first time around that chapter was a huge flop! The ring license was so so boring no one cares about that franchise. DBD makes a ton of money. 50 million players equals millions of dollars why are they so cheap when it comes to adding content? Is Cote bad at his job? The devs do not feel like they care about this game it just feels routine to them at this point. Tons of leaks, perks that do the same things as previous ones, and repetitive killer powers and maps...

Because its not BHVR who decides how lenient the license holders are?

BHVR has money, just not enough to get the license holders to add new content when they have tons of other things to worry about.

Flop? The RE chapter was objectively their most successful chapter to date. Flawed yes, not a flop. I love the ring and all the mechanics brought with it are great. She's a bit weak but that's a different topic.
We don't know their profit margin. Seems to me like they are putting in a lot of the money they make back into the game. That doesnt even take into account upkeep on the company and I'm pretty sure that the teams grown since release. License deals cost money I would assume. As far as devs are concerned I think the put a lot of effort to do each license justice. You have no idea what those licenses allow. You are working with assumptions.
It sounds like to me that you have no idea what you're talking about and are just trying to bad mouth the game or devs for some other reason. There are plenty of things to jab at bhvr for but this isn't it. I think they deserve a lot more credit then you're giving them.

We got Ringu since Stranger Things left. Hellraiser came out before Stranger Things left, but it leaving was already announced at that point iirc.
But also BHVR doesn't want to do just licenses. A couple years ago on a stream they mentioned how they don't want licenses to take up more than half the new content in a given year. The devs have a story they want to tell with dbd and they need original content releases to tell that story.

I actually think the license DLCs are very fairly priced. I was surprised the Resident Evil chapter wasn't more because I honestly think it could have been and still sold very well. We're also about to get another Resident Evil chapter which in my opinion has been the most popular content added to the game so I don't think a lot of licenses are getting neglected. We really don't know the intricate details behind these things. I'd imagine there are a lot of licenses out there that would love to work with DBD in the future.

Its not up to Behaviour. They have to be allowed by the license holder to design and sell skins and costumes.
Freddy doesn't get anything because they only hold the license to that one reboot movie version of him because they couldn't get the original for various reasons.
You think they're not using the OG Freddy license and not selling a million different wacky skins and weapon models from the original Nightmare franchise because they don't want to?
People eat up the vanity items. They'd make them and sell them if they were allowed to.

Alright then
Tell me why you disagree, LeBlue?

It's not necessarily about how much BHVR is willing to pay. There's a whole bunch of stuff that goes into just discussing the matter that is way over my head.

It's ultimately up to the license holders. If netflix says "no more stranger things in dbd" they can legally do that. There's nothing bhvr can do about it. As for costumes again they need permission which as shown from freddy. His holders really don't like being bothered.

This new season of stranger things has me dying for them to bring the new villian and a survivor to the game, it's such a perfect fit it would be a shame if they didn't try to do it, also Robert Englund plays the villian in this season and having him with voice lines would be absolutely epic, it would definitely be a shut up and take my money type thing .

How much content licenses get is up to the license holders not BHVR, I remember reading somewhere Halloween and Nightmare on Elm Street license holders are the hardest to work with, especially Nightmare on Elm Street, if they dont let BHVR make more cosmetics for them its their decission and they have to abide by the contracts they sign.

I iddnt know you could just disagree your way out of modern copyright law. :P

Molten Hot take: The Dredge is more interesting then seventy percent of the remaining horror licenses that they haven't touched. Egregore are so rarely depicted in media and i'd rather have a cool composite killer with potentially infinite customization then the Skype Call Murderer or Knock-off Grudge monster number 5278. We'll get to the good licenses eventually if the other companies are willing to play ball, but i'm not going to grumble too much about things after the anniversary stream.

you lost me when you said "Losing the Stranger Things license and not getting another big license since it has really made the player base lose passion for the game." Stranger things was not even top 5 most popular license in this game lol.
