Why was Clowns exhaustion addon removed?
Quite frankly i actually dont know why it was removed, I just want it back so i can outplay the deadhard gamers :/

Because every survivor should be able to use their exhaustion perks under any circumstances. /s
But in all seriousness, I have no idea why they removed that addon. Other killers have exhaustion addons, so I don't know why Clown's was the one chosen to be removed.

I guess because it was easier to apply the exhaustion compared to other killers? but still i do miss it because it was one of the hard counters to deadhard, its like “ahh u think ur gonna get me killer i have deadhard” but then the killer be like “what deadhard” lmao good old days but i do understand

When Clown's exhaustion addons were introduced, you could still recover exhaustion while running.
You can't anymore, which is why it was changed.

They are giving the dredge an exhaustion add-on so they are clearly not against it and the exhaustion changes clearly had no impact on making them.
Which is why its so confusing that out of every killer CLOWN lost his exhaustion add-on.

Yeah, but every current exhaustion addon either lasts for single digits (Huntress, Ghostface) or has to be dispelled in some way and only lasts for like a second once taken care of (Pig, Artist, Cenobite). With Dredge, I can only assume it's double digits because a survivor literally has to run into the Remnant to trigger it.
With Clown, I can only assume they removed the exhaustion aspect completely because it was incredibly easy to apply comparatively.

My guess is because of the speed buffing bottles. This in conjuction with exhaustion was either feared or tested to be too strong.

I mean 30 seconds was a lot compared to other killers exhaustion effect addons, especially with how easy it is to hit a survivor with a bottle

tbh It would be better to get rid of all addon and perk stuff that's dependent on the other side having something to make it work. Obviously most games have exhaustion perks but still. Would also prefer Clown to be good enough to where this addon wasn't considered mandatory. A killer should be strong because basekit not addons.

You can’t really dodge a bottle. It was automatically no exhaustion if the killer was decent. With GF and Huntress there’s still a chance.

It's funny because Artist, a killer with lethal anti loop instead of a slight inconvenience, has an exhaustion addon.

Artist main here. you are only exhausted while swarmed, clowns exhaustion addon was thirty seconds for simply getting in the area of clowns bottle, something way easier to do

Birds aren't AoEs and Artist doesn't have 4-7 of them in stock before having to reload. They also don't slow you down by 15/19%.

And exhaustion only effects while swarmed, not 30 seconds like clown

I mean, Ghost Face can now do it from a distance, I don’t see why Clown’s was totally removed. They could’ve just changed it to a direct bottle hit, so it wasn’t too easy to apply for how powerful of an effect it is.

The reason they removed the addon? If I had to guess it was a usable answer to Dead Hard, so they vaporized it.

Yeah? That's still the vital time a surv needs to dead hard. For artist they either repel crows or take hit while repelling crows. You have a lot of influence over when this happens.
You're an artist main? I picked her up this weekend and found her laughably easy. Try playing some D-tier killers. Clown could use any help he can get.

It's literally easier to hit crows than bottles. They do not respect line of sight or map geometry. You just poot them where you want them to go. It's braindead.

I 4ked five games in a row. It's boring and simple. I've watched streamers play her many times, I get the gist. Even folks who obviously know how to play vs her and leave the loop.... Still get hit. It's the only time playing this game I felt oppressive aside from when I played nurse for a minute.
You think she's a complex and difficult to pick up killer? That's cute you put yourself up like that. You put down the birds. You hit the mans. You put down the birds. They leave. You hit the mans. Baiting out jukes from survs is the only learning curve there and it works once, per survivor. Then guess what? She got another bird, for free. Comparing her with any subpar killer is laughable. Hell, she's easier than plague and I have a 20 winstreak with her.

I really want to see this artist prodigee at work, it sounds like he is so absolutely good, he even said he only played a minute of nurse and felt opressive, trully a dbd god at its finnest.

Artist is not hard tbh, you can snipe people or shotgun the birds. Clown can’t throw 3 bottles at once that can go through the entire map.

It was removed because the ease of applying it. Exhaustion addons are both short duration and limited in how often you can realistically apply it.
I know people don't like Dead Hard and Dead Hard being too strong is a separate issue. But they devs clearly don't want addons or perks that completely shut down exhaustion perks as a whole. Which is what the old exhaustion bottles did and even if they got nerfed to be 5 second duration, they would still create no real opening for a survivor to use any exhaustion perk (aside Sprint Burst) during the chase against clown.
And idk why people are acting like the change was made to for dead hard when the removal was before dead hard validation.

they feared to make him too much strong... i still have to see a proper rework that wasn't a hidden nerf overall... aside the bottle recharge, the old clown was MUCH better than the actual one (the yellow bottles are useless... or to be precise it can be an indirect buff for survivors)

Yeah it's weird. Unlike GF and Huntress where people have a bit of downtime to walk to try and restore those 5 seconds Exhaustion, survivors wouldn't really have the some possibility against Clown.
A Clown should preferably use multiple bottles during a chase and it's not like it's hard to get survivors inside the gas. So even if they somehow manage to recover, theyll get gassed again shortly after, rendering every other exhaustion perk but Sprint Burst useless against him. Meanwhile GF and Huntress are basically a one time use per chase.

She's definitely a strong killer and can be oppressive to play against without too much difficulty. That being said, you don't have to put other people down because you personally do very well as her. If you are an experienced player, then yeah she will be relatively easy to play. By no means is she an "easy" killer to play though. To be able to use her anti-loop abilities, you will need to know some map knowledge or know how tiles are played. She isn't easy to pick up unless you have a lot of hours in the game or have played other killers before.

Yeah, my friend is a Clown main and he 4ks at high MMR without add ons against 4 Dead Hards and strong items no problem

Because Exhaustion Add-Ons are really outdated. And IMO it is wrong to introduce new Exhaustion Add-Ons. However, at least they are now at least Green Rarity, unlike before where you had brown and yellow Exhaustion Add-Ons.
But IMO, BHVR should get rid of all of them, especially the ones from Pig. Because those really just promote to tunnel the Survivor with the Trap on their head.
