Attempting to Master The Oni (again)
Hi.
Some of you probably remember these threads, most of you don’t. Basically I made a poll asking which killer would be most rewarding to master and Oni won, so I decided that I’d spend the next couple of months playing pretty much exclusively Oni and trying to get as good at him as I could.
That didn’t happen, because of a lot of personal things outside of Dbd, but also because I switched platforms and had to start all the way from scratch. Now I feel like I’m ready to take on this challenge again, and on PC this time.
Basically, how this is going to work is every week I’ll make a thread logging my progress, maybe attaching a recording so you people can give me pointers.
this is what happens when someone takes “get good” too seriously. Anyway, just an announcement that this is going to be making its return. Hopefully I’ll actually commit to this, haha.

I swear bro every Oni I play is a 5k hour Oni main that claps everyone in 5 minutes. But I actually like him alot, I probably respect Oni Mains the most.

Can't wait to see your progress and I wish you luck. He definitely can be frustrating at times when you overflick or do something silly and get caught in a bush, but very fun to play overall. Have fun with Mr. Bam Bam<3

Good luck there are alot of Oni mains on the forum I think so dw we're here to help if you have any questions or need any advice just ask.
When I first started playing him he was so frustrating but trust me when you finally mastered him he's one of the most rewarding killer to play and a big powerhouse.
We will watch your career with great interest.

Good luck! Oni is probably one of the hardest killers to play since you need great knowledge of his power but also playing M1.

I don't understand his power. Sometimes he will just randomly do a massive lunge and fly past the survivor, and others he will instantly bash the survivor. I hate inconsistency.

I personally don't like that guy but he is a good player I won't deny that, I have a dislike for him because one time after I went to his chat and told him " gg it was a intense game " he was very rude and trying to trash on me even though I escaped and even pulled off a beamer save (we got 3 out) and it just resulted to him and his chat insulting me for no reason but this was a year ago the last I saw him in game so he could be alot nicer now that his channel has gotten bigger I'm not sure, but I will agree he's a very good oni main .

If you don't respect people for using unfair things in DBD (Which why would you but idk how else to word this) then that's a lot of respect to not give.
Also I think Oni is pretty balanced but you're entitled to your own opinion!

Oni is balanced. Do all you can to stop him getting the first hit (throw shack pallet at 5 gens if you really must), heal whenever you can, split up when he has his power to avoid an infectious fright slugfest. Pretty consistent counterplay.
