Killers: What Do You Do When A Survivor DCs Early?
Do you ease up slightly and let them do a couple of gens, and earn some BP/grade points before finishing them off? (What I do).
Do you just smash them to get to the next game faster?
Farm?

If 2 go then I'll farm with the last two.
I like farming so let's goooo.
2 -
I generally kind of farm (in the sense that I will play normal but then never actually Death Hook the remaining survivors)
Unless I'm in a pissy mood, then you're all gonna die ASAP so I can move onto the next match
But usually I'll do my play farm. Although a lot of times the survivors will kill themselves on the hook, which I guess sucks for them
2 -
Play as normal. I know it sucks, but when I'm killer or survivor I'd rather the match end asap so I can get to another.
2 -
I play normal, up to the point a survivor would be dead on hook. Then I pick them up, but let them escape my grasp to never down them again. Then I do the same for the rest of the remaining survivors (so they all know that I don’t plan to kill them).
Unless someone gets left for dead on a hook. Then I make try to make sure the others all die too. My little game, I guess!
2 -
play normally, hook all of the remaining ones until all are dead on hook. I see from context then on whether i'll kill how many of them (eg: archive challenge, want kills, feeling nice, etc)
1 -
I'll just go with the flow
If survivors wanna keep trying, have some good chases and stuff sure
If they wanna farm a bit i'll go for it, help them do some archives or whatever
If they want to just go next I'll do my best to get them killed asap so they can
Playing solo survivor really gives me more empathy for survs I go against when this happens and I don't blame killers who just try to end the match asap bc when I'm playing survivor that's usually all I want. I don't get why some killers prolong these matches for no reason though (By slugging people unnecessarily as an example)

Typically, I continue playing normally. (I don't use sweaty meta perks or play strong killers; it's not a complete stomp.)
If I get messages after the match that mention the disconnect, I tell them that they get in-game Bloodpoints for it and if that's not enough then it's between them and the devs, and I move on.

End the game as fast as possible for them.

Like always, go for "all on death hook" and then see how many gens are left, which dailies/rift challenges i got and normally let them escape if they don't take years to finish the gens.
0 -
I proceed to hook everybody who stayed twice, then let them do the gens and leave. I don't really farm, once everybody has been hooked twice I just AFK.

I'll proceed to play normally. It's not my fault that the survivor they got chickened out.
I'm not going to lose a pip just because of survivor rulebook for killers.
If its 2-3 dcs, I'll go easy only if the remaining survivor/s will want that. Many of them don't want to farm, cuz they want to leave the match too.

i play normaly, any frustration other survivors might feel is the fault of the person who dcd. I expect the same from killers, everytime it happens i blame the players who dcd not the killer.

It depends. I am usually pretty chill about it unless I am on a challenge, however.
0 -
Depends what my challenge is. But usually its 4 bbq stacks with max 8 hooks anyway so I dont really care about DC much unless I need 4k for a challenge
1 -
I end the match asap, i hate farming, its useless

I usually let them all finish the gens and get out. If they make it clear they just want out, i'll kill them.
I would end the trial as quickly as possible, but intention is hard to discern and as survivor I have a hard enough time figuring out whether the killer's doing it out of mercy or 'get destroyed idiot baby survivors ez'.
2 -
Generally, I hit a gen and when I feel my intentions are clear, I get all my bbq stacks and then go face in front of a door switch.
However, there's a risk someone else gives up doing this. In that case, I just end it and move on. The trial is already past the point of losing any meaningfulness anyway.

Play super chill and spread out hooks and chases so that they get plenty of bloodpoints and maybe even a safety pip. Last person gets the hatch.
2 people DC: likely farm or if I don't have a DC penalty myself just DC and move on.
3 people DC: last person gets the hatch.
Of course if they all run up to me pointing at hooks I'll end the match as quickly as possible.

I play as normal
IMO it’s worse when a survivor DCs mid-match rather then when the match begins, because then it just feels like everyone’s efforts have been wasted because one guy didn’t feel like finishing the match

It's tricky. I play solo survivor a lot and I'm sympathetic to the situation.
For a while I would try to balance it by just going easy on them and giving them a head start. I would just walk around and do "unnecessary objectives" - breaking walls, pallets I had initially left up, kicking gens without pop to waste some time but get some points. Usually this gives time for the survivors to reset and work on some gens to level the playing field. Afterwards I would tend to play chill, play for the chase, hook everyone twice and have fun rather than sweating for kills. This is what I would love to see when I'm survivor.
Cue survivors going "ez baby killer n00b, you couldn't even get killz except for DC, we thrashed you 3v1, yadayada...". And there is nothing you can say or do to convince them otherwise. 🙄
So I kind of go on a case by case basis now - sometimes I will just kill 2 of the remaining and let the last one get hatch and write something nice in end-game-chat ("Shame about the early DC, you held your own very well, GL next time")

I'll let them go but sometimes I need something. Like today I needed Plague's 'hit four survivors while they are maximum infected', annoyingly they constantly cleansed which is normally great for Plague but terrible for that ritual. One DC'ed on first hook. I wanted to show mercy and let them go but they kept damn cleansing, so I had to force them to waste time on unhooks just so I could puke on one for a bit and then hit them.
I lost count of hooks on one so I killed one by mistake and the other basically gave up. I wanted to give the last hatch but they kept wiggling off as I tried to lead them to it so I just rolled my eyes and hooked them too. I was sad about 4k.

If the remaining three are behaving themselves (no flashlight clicking/teabagging), then I’ll ease off the gas, get everyone down to death hook, then let them escape. Now if all 3 are really good at looping, taking hits/saving each other while gens are still getting done, then I’ll play as normal and let only the last one go, if possible. Now if it’s obvious as hell the survivor was being butthurt they got downed first within the first minute, I’ll just farm. It’s not fair to the other 3. The game is already ruined for everyone (myself included) before it even started. 😐

I don't change my playstyle, i just continue as if nothing happened.
Tho when 1 survivor is left i give them the hatch as a petty escape.
I'm not gonna ease up cause i want that match to be over and move to the next match.
Farming is something i will never do, because that is something i truly hate and is boring AF

Depends on which mindset I had when I entered The Trial.
If I had a more "competitive" build, I'll end the game as quickly as possible.
If a Survivor DC's when I'm running Agitation, Starstruck, Iron Grasp and Mad Grit on Demogorgon, I'll troll around a bit before either getting a 2k or letting the remaining Survivors escape

Depends on the dc. If its an dc because i found and downed someone early, the game loss is on them, and i dont care.
However, if it is a dc that i think is for real, then i play the game normaly, with exceptions: i will never hook someone more than twice (unless they message me they want to die with morse code, aka teabagging), and always leave the hook early so people unhook even if they are scared.
After that, i only slugg. Then, if i got the whole team down, (or if someone is close to bleeding out), then i will just pick them up, finish the gens (since chases, hooks and heals have been real, it is already farmed) and let everyone go.

I work on whatever archives or dailies I need to get done, and go out of my way to kick gens, pallets, and walls for those points. If survivors want to farm, I farm. Otherwise I play normally but nicer.

I play normally and give the last survivor the escape. I find farming kinda boring.
0 -
I just play and try to end it as quickly as possible. I wish there was a vote to continue option

I just farm a little and then let them do gens.
As a survivor, I absolutely hate it when people DC in the early game. The killer then wants to end the game super quick either out of mercy or because they're gloating.
After the match is over, I make barely any BP and get a depip. Not even worth queuing up at that point.

I may be a bit guilty of prolonging a match, not by slugging, but just zapping people with shock therapy as doc, I can't help it, it's so fun, then I have to remind myself "right, I'm letting them go" lol
1 -
Whatever I feel like in the moment.
Ease up a bit sure, finish it quick sure. Maybe have a farm sure.
Each are equally valid and often dependent on how many DC's I've had to deal with already.
0 -
You mean after the laugh?
It really depends on how strong the remaining ones are. Most of the time I'll kill two after trying to maximize the hooks/saves/heals and give one hatch.
0 -
Just finish the game so we can all move on.

It depends on how much I like the survivors I'm vs'ing, the mood I'm in, and why I think the person DC'd.
If I offer a farm they accept quickly, cool. If not, I just kill everyone ASAP.
If I've had a lot of DC's lately (e.g. playing Trickster), then I'll probably ignore it and play normally.
As for why they DC'd, well, usually it was because they're salty they went down quickly or multiple times in a row. I usually only farm on DC's that are just kind of sadness inducing, if that makes any sense lol
