How does cross progression work?
Say I play on Epic Games and I have every character at level 50. Except for sadako and the dregde which I do not own.
Now I want to pick up the game on Steam. So I buy a bunch of auric cells in steam, I buy the dregde DLC, I buy a dredge skin with auric cells, and I buy sadako with auric cells. All my characters still at level 0 in Steam.
After buying all of that in Steam, I decide to link my accounts.
It is clear that the auric cells won't appear if I launch the game through Epic.
It is clear that the dlc will show up in Epic just fine. But:
Will the dredge skin appear in the Epic game?
Will the sadako character appear in the Epic game? If not, what if this was not a licensed character?
These things are not clear from the Cross Progression FAQ .
The faq also talks about "exclusive content". What is exclusive content? what are some examples?
About the rift:
If I have my accounts linked, are the rift levels shared or not? what about the challenges?
If I unlock a rift skin in one account, will it appear in the other account?
About unlinking:
If I go from rift 0 to 70 while linked, and then unlink, which account keeps all the skins? or do they just vanish?
If I make auric cell purchases while linked, and then unlink, the cells and purchases with them, will remain in the original platform account they were purchased in, right? (Says so in the before last section, but another one says "all progress and purchases will be set to the state it was before the merge"). Or will the real life money spent just vanish?
Say one day I accidentally unlink one of the two platform accounts. Then I stop playing for the 60 days waiting period, and then link again. Will the state of both account be the same as if I never unlinked? I mean, newly linked accounts just take whatever progress the behaviour account has?
What if I link my account that has everything unlocked, with another fresh account with all the basic characters at level 0. Inmediatly after, I unlink both of them. With the last one to unlink being the fresh one, so all the behaviour account progress goes to it. Meanwhile my main account remains the same because no progress was made at all, with the linking duration of 10 minutes. But the fresh account now has a copy all my iridescent shards and all level 50 free characters.
So I just made free progress out of thin air? lol

yes characters and (most) skins will be shared across the linked accounts.

am actually not sure about this one, but there is for example a Trapper mask on the Nintendo Switch version that might be exclusive to that version? (Once Switch actually joins cross progression..)

yes challenges and rift levels will be shared and cosmetics as well.

the account that gets unlinked will be reset to the state before the linking progress afaik. So if you unlink all accounts from your BHVR account the progress might get lost completely (or maybe you could get it again when you link a new account to the BHVR account -not sure about that)

yes auric cells will stay platform specific as long as you purchased them on that platform. Though I am not sure about the auric cells you get back from the rift - those might be linked to the BHVR account and not the platform account.

no? Once you unlink your first account with all the progress that progress won’t be one the BHVR nor the fresh account. Once you unlink the fresh account after that, the fresh account would be at the state before the linking progress.

If I link, I wouldn't ever unlink, but it's a bit concerning for that option to be there... has anyone ever got their data corrupted?
I'm asking because I play on steam, but I can get some remaing DLC from the microsoft store, for 4 times cheaper the price. So it would be nice to just buy there, then wait a couple years and hope they implement cross progress...

And again about this:
When you unlink your platform account from your Behaviour account, your unlocked items, perks, characters, character levels, and player level will be returned to the platform account in the same state as when the account was originally linked.
If when you unlink, the progress gets taken down from the behaviour account, that means you automatically lose all your progress? even if you link back again? what!?
There it says the progress is transferred to the platform account. But it also says that the progress goes back to the original state (previous to the link). What happens in that case? all your data just gets wiped?

i guess it would be better to just wait for a discount on those remaining DLC on your already owned platforms as Microsoft store may very well never get cross progress and even if you would need to buy the base game there as well.

yes, it’s supposed to merge so in the end you should not lose any progress at all. If you have the same character leveled on both accounts, you will get the higher level/prestige, but the inventory will be merged from both accounts.

i am not entirely sure about how this works. But yes, I think you might lose progress. I very much am not interested in testing this with my own account (and BHVR hasn’t offered me a job yet ;) ). I think either a BHVR employee or someone who actually tried can only answer you this accurately. As far as I understand it any progress gained while the account was linked will not stay on an unlinked account. Maybe re linking might bring it back - but that process sounds like it could be very unstable..

I'm waiting for a developer answer then... because also I'm guessing the prestige update will break something in cross progression.
And everytime I try to create a ticket, the answer is "no, we can't". So really account linking is a roulette with those unspecified behaviours...
I could wait for a discount, but these are capped at 50%, only for dlc never auric cells, and the other platform often goes on sale too, with the reduced base price included. I don't play everyday to stop caring and blindly go for the expensive option.
Anyone from bhvr, are there more price increases planned for this summer?
