Why not remove dead hard for a week?
Just to see how much it impacts the current meta. It's clearly way too strong and used by so many survivors. I understand it'll make killers like Nurse miserable, but the game isn't just Nurse. Besides you can't nerf her without considering DH anyway.
It's getting tiresome of how much outplay I have to do to get a single down because of this horrendous perk combined with, frankly, map design that is incredibly sub-par to what one would expect from a game lasting this long. I'm being very polite with the wording.
I think it'll be good data, and would help balancing the new version of it that SHOULD be underway from what I understand.

Yeah Dead Hard is stupidly overpowered for how safe the maps are and how fast the gens are. If the gens took longer and maps were smaller/less god pallets/windows then Dead Hard would probably be fine

Given the track record with maps, I think it's just safer to remove the perk until it's completely redone. I don't trust the mapping of this game to improve gameplay-wise. The new one is not only unplayable on certain killers, but falls into the usual trap of having ridiculously awful setups with little you can do about them.

Prolly have to do some horse trading here, like Corrupt or Tinkerer or some such also turned off too. Be quite the mess, and I'm not sure it'd be worth it.

Yeah I played on it last night as different M1 killers like Wraith, Clown, and Pig, and the map is absolutely disgusting. I don't know what anyone saying the map is fine outside of the house are even looking at. It's so easy to chain extremely strong tiles and there are reusable strong windows everywhere

I'm not sure how coherent the data you'd get would be if you removed perks from both ends, though. You can't tell how much the absence of an overused perk affects win rates when you're also removing common tools from the other side.
That said... I dunno. We've lived with Dead Hard for six years, I think we can handle another few months. People are acting like it's way more urgent than it is.

Remove nurse for the same amount of time and it's a deal.
This game was so much more enjoyable when nurse was disabled for several weeks not long ago.

The urgency started when the hit validation cured most of the exhausted on the ground problems, so usage increased even further and survs got a little better at using it. This of course increased killer's frustration with so strong a perk.

Dead hard turns people brain to mush. The amount of people I see use it act cocky only to use dh into a wall or the pallet an cry when get down. That perk is brain dead an either needs to be removed to lessen the bs map layout for loops or completely rework it to something that isn't a insane, invincible loop perk. An by invincible I mean the way it goes over trappers trap which is beyond me

I personally wouldn't mind, I favour lethal pursuer honestly for quick chases. I don't think it's too relevant to the issue, however. Corrupt Intervention is a fix to the mapping of the game and the inability to pressure early game with most killers, dead hard is just a free extension of chase that can have gargantuan effects on the game vs any killer except maybe the two S tiers.
No matter what happens there'll be complainers. But I do think that most survivor players are reasonably enough to admit DH is a big problem.
I just thought it'd be an interesting experiment before the pass.
Not a wishlist, just an idea to see how DH impacts games. Your wishlist, however, is pretty whack.

Then you'd just have everyone using sprint burst all week. And honestly, sprint burst is way more tedious to play against than dead hard.

I didn't realize dead hard had this much controversy around it until I saw people talking about it outside of the game. I had seen people here and there say something about it in post game chat but I never considered it enough that it would spark a conversation about actually nerfing it. I used dead hard for awhile but realized it wasn't a perk I wanted to use that often. I'd get a few good uses out of it but more often than not I would find myself being way off on the timing or go right into a wall or generator then get downed. I did get some good hook saves while avoiding the hook trade but I had to be spot on with the timing. I think its those moments where dead hard gives the survivor those big rewards that set people off but for me those moments were rare.

"Underperforming killer"...? What game are you playing. It certainly isn't DBD against even decent nurses.
At high MMR when I am playing killer the number of times an "OP Dead hard" makes me lose is hilariously small compared to the number of times a nurse decides to win the game simply by existing and learning her to a decent level (she is not as difficult to learn as many of you on these forums claim).
Korean server high Mmr right now is a joke. About 35 percent of games are nurse.
Yeah, Dead hard is definitely in a higher percentage of games, but simply having dead hard does not win a game for the survivor team. Simply being nurse basically does.

Everyone knows the nurse kill rate is low because she is the most difficult killer to learn. There are many low level players who try her because she is a free killer, and that brings her kill rate way down compared to other killers.
That is common knowledge by now...
Here, great idea to help the "underperforming nurse": reduce her difficulty and reduce her strength at the same time. There, her kill rate will increase and she won't be underperforming anymore.

People always say this, but honestly totally miss the point. Sprint Burst can be annoying if used correctly, but usually prevents a chase right when it starts or forces the killer to commit, while DH is always there, always an option, no matter your skill level, and its so versatile. DH isn't used at the start of the chase, but rather at the end, when the survivor commits some error or mistake that would hand the win of that chase to the killer. But suddenly a short burst to the next pallet, the next window, the next loop, that you shouldn't have been able to reach, and you extent the chase by another lap.
There are the people who are really good at looping, and DH on top of their abilities just makes their gameplay so unbelievale oppressive and frustrating. They can literally dance on the killers nose, not fearing much of a retaliation, while gens pop left and right. Sprint Burst can be annoying, yes, but 99% a burst is hard and few people can do it. 9/10 times they just SB away when you get to their gen, and don't waste +20s after an already long chase.
And you have to play like as if everyone has DH. Even if you don't get it you still will get free 3s handed to you every chase, because the killer generally can't effort to swing early, but "has to bait it out". The "do bones" joke has been done to death, but imagine if you had to cleanse all 5 totems 80% of all games, OR ELSE!

Yeah, it is common knowledge and exactly what I was referencing. You don't get it? In spite of players who have mastered her and are absolutely destroying everyone, as some like to claim, she still is the lowest kill rate champion. Must be a lot of Nurses underperforming.
Or, it just might be that there are quite a lot of Nurses at mid-level who don't have good games against better survivors. Either way, she's got the lowest kill rate and if you cherry pick the MMR you're probably not even in, it just looks sad.
Again, DH is present in almost every game, Nurse is in a fraction of those games. Apples to Oranges. You're just targeting a killer you don't have the capacity to beat. Practice up.

You're either a troll or are advocating for the devs to balance towards the lower-skilled players in the game, something that no game with decent balance does.
If that's the case, ask the devs to release the kill rates at low ranks and see how all killers are "overperforming" and need to be nerfed.

Slow your roll. This is about turning DH off, and you asking to turn Nurse off. Again, you're getting a raw deal on the proportionality of the trade. I'm not here for your Nurse doomsaying. I'm just using those statistics because the usage and winrates are right there and in your face, and you wouldn't shut up about her. You can cherry pick to fit whatever narrative.

I still will never understand this "dude sprint burst is secretly the best exhaustion perk in the game, all survivors are just hive mind(literally 80% usage at high MMR according to BHVR stats) and don't run it because.......". This would be like me adamantly insisting call of brine is the best kicking perk in the game and that nerfing pop would just bring call of brine useage up and it's sooooo much better than pop. It's not. Nor is sprint burst universally better than dead hard.

No thanks, Nurse is challenging to play as and against and that‘s why we like her : she takes skill. Even after thousands of hours, you can still learn and improve on her and that‘s why she is so fun.

You can't just exclude Nurse when requesting Dead Hard to be removed. Plus Nurse is almost all you see at high end games, where Dead Hard is almost exclusively seen. There's probably a correlation there.

Idk where this started from. Sprint bursts advantage as a killer you can bail the chase immediately and find someone else. Or come back when you know SB isnt back up. Dead hard forces you into the entire chase and the moment your about to get the down they rob it from you. Id rather let the survivor go immediately then spend the time and get robbed from DH at what should have been the end of the chase.

Took only losing half their (PC/steam) playerbase since the influx from last year's anniversary.

Your point is correct. The reason why I wanted to avoid too much Nurse talk is because I didn't want more 'what about-isms' that are inevitable in these threads, and I fully know DH is one of the only things you have to use against Nurse. That said, Dead Hard isn't 'almost exclusively seen' in high end games. The vast majority of players that understand looping and play the game quite a bit (you can argue high end but this ends up being A LOT of people of different skill level) use DH. Because it's known as good, because many content creators abuse the hell out of it, or because their friends use it. It's everywhere, even on my Dredge games when I just started him (unless they were a fresh Haddie I guess).
