Should I prestigate now or wait the new prestigate system?
So that's what im thinking I have dredge on level 50 and pretty decent perks with him but problem is that most of them are still only yellow so should I continue updating him but then I will not prestigate him before the new system or should I just prestigate him now?

Depends if you care about that "Distinct Reward"

The prestige system will likely not come until the next mid chapter, so in July/August, maybe even later. I would say just prestige him, if you play regularly you will get him to P3 easily until the prestige reworks is finally there. So you could get the "reward" for dredge as well ... whatever that may be.
If you have other maxed out killers like me, thats another topic. This ones I wouldn't level for the new common or Dredge perks but wait for the rework to happen. You will get Dredges perks for free then on every other killers (if you P3 Dredge, that is).

Do you still get the bloody set after the changes?

They told us the prestige rewards are not going to be any cosmetics and charms, migh be shards, I am not rushing the prestiges cuz I know the rewards are not going to be something big

I would not expect that the Prestige Reward is something significant. Could be some ingame-Overlay just for you or even just some Iri Shards. Dont expect too much.
So if you can wait with prestiging, do it afterwards.

Yes.

You could wait to prestige him closer to time. Mandy said we’ll be given prior notice before the rewards go live.

I mentioned in another thread. The Unique 'reward' for hitting P3 prior to the Prestige Rework is something along the lines of a Border Frame for your character select screen/post game lobby screen. As the characters will now show their Prestige levels in Post Game since you can go beyond P3 now. The reward is supposedly a unique version of this.

Oh, it is official? Have you the source?

I am going to do it during anniversary when everyone is going to spam cakes.
2 -
I got to dig it up again, give me a second.
0 -
Do you know when 6th anniversary cakes come? I haven't been able to find any information abou that.

Mass prestigate him before the anniversary and keep the cakes/flans.
1 -
Aww, thanks for searching it. Take your time.

Anniversary event starts the 16th. They told it on Twitter.
I don't know the exact time but for me, if I take previous events, it should be around 5 PM UTC +2.

I've P3'd all my killers and am now working on the Dredge. I figure, if I'm going to be putting the points into him anyway, I might as well get whatever dumb reward BHVR's going to give out. He's got nothing on him I care about losing, and it costs fewer Bloodpoints to go through levels 1-50 than to keep doing level 50 over and over and over again, especially when he'll automatically get all teachables at tier 3 when the new prestige system is unrolled.
That's how I'm personally looking at it, but my situation may be different from yours.

TL;DR: depends on the extra benefits for prestiging. If its just the compensation+border, its not really gonna be worth it other than flex reasons.
Well, the benefit of prestiging right now is that the moment the update comes, all characters will have all the perks at t3, where otherwise you have to do that after the update.
They did mention people who significantly invested BP(like p3 all perks, or p0 all perks), which will recieve a very significant compensation for that. So for those p0 all perks its never gonna be worth prestiging.
For any non-p3 character that also doesnt have all perks, the "downside" to that, is that you will lose all your addons, items and offerings you would have gained between p0-p3. Although, those should be compensated for.
IMO, the biggest rewards should go to p3 all perks simply due to the amount of offerings and addons that have been lost due to prestiging, then p2 all perks, p1 all perks, p0 all perks, p3, p2, p1. There might even scenarios inbetween, where someone only has 75% of the perks as p3, but definitely invested more time and effort in total due to p3 on its own already costing 6 million bp at the bare minimum.
I really do hope its more than just a special border tho, a hook skin would be nice. I get that making legacy prestige skins while also having a lot of licensed killers that would be impossible to make that deal for(hence BHVR making blighted skins instead, its the closest you'd get to legacy prestige), but just a border and compensation is gonna be lame. They were hyped about announcing it tho, so I am guessing its gonna be more than just a border and compensation.

Okay so the event is on the 16, use everything the dredge has until all the bp offerings are done and his addons. When everything is done prestige just after the event starts so you can get a lot of Flans.

"Prestigate".

I have PTSD each time someone is saying "Coup de Grâce".

Unless you're in a hurry,,just w8 ,,though tbh they just announced the change not the actual date it will be in effect

Given the ‘summer’ release window, and the fact that new content patches likely won’t drop grand changes like this, the coming mid-chapter seems our best bet.

was thinking the same

I am personally waiting. I cannot imagine that whatever the reward is for prestiging early is worth having to regrind a character from scratch in my eyes.

Don’t forget that, with this upcoming change, you’re also automatically getting all teachable perks at tier III from characters you’ve P3’d. So if you have completed a lot of them, the grind will only be for general perks on new characters or after prestiging.
0 -
Generally, I'd say prestige now if:
- You only got them to level 50 (and didn't max out all their perks)
- You aren't currently playing them and don't mind losing all their perks
- You don't have any old event stuff on them that you're holding onto
Otherwise, if you're got stuff that you don't want to lose, hold off for now and maybe focus on prestiging a different character instead. It'll be a whole lot more forgiving later on.
5 -
I have completed none of them. I have maybe a few I'd get tier 1 prestige on when the catch-up kicks in, but the only character I'd actually get Tier 3 on is the Pig. So no thanks.

I still don’t fully understand what’s going to happen to players like myself who have have never prestiged any character but are all perks tier 3 on them. Apologies if I’ve missed an explanation for this but I’d appreciate anyone letting me know what’s happening with this scenario!

The upcoming prestige change has nudged me into actually making use of the huge hoard of unused cakes and addons I've got on my killers and it's been a pretty welcome experience. I'm generating a real fondness for some killers who I've previously liked but had consistently disappointing results on (due to a general refusal to bring addons on addon-dependent killers) and also actually getting to benefit from the hefty amount of unearned bp those cakes & party streamers have to offer has made getting the killers I want to rush through the prestige system ahead of this anniversary pretty doable.
Overall I anticipate I'll be comfortable using addons way more often going forward, and not hoard all of my stuff quite so much.

There will be a catch-up system as explained in the link above.
0 -
Basically, they will have a "catch-up mechanic" that will automatically give a certain number of prestige levels on characters you've spend tons of bloodpoints on. That means you will automatically get some (or all) of the bloody prestige cosmetics for those characters AND you'll automatically get the corresponding tier of that character's teachable perks on every other survivor (or killer).
Below is the direct quote from BHVR about the catch-up mechanic:
"'When we roll this out, we’re planning on doing a prestige catch-up mechanic that will look at the perk tier you have on your characters,' explains Matt. 'If you’ve been collecting perks on your character and levelling them up, you’ll gain a number of prestige levels based on how many perks and perk tiers you've acquired.'
As for the general perks that aren’t connected to a specific character – Unrelenting or Resilience for example – they will remain unlockable through Bloodweb progression."

Thanks to both for replying!
However, one thing still concerns me a little.
Lets say there’s a killer I don’t like to play but they had strong perks I wanted to unlock on killers I do like to play.
So as an example, let’s say that under the current system I don’t like playing Hag but I wanted her teachables. I’ve levelled her up to rank 40, stopped there and unlocked the perks in the bloodweb of all other killers. I have then subsequently unlocked the perks at tier 3 on a killer I do like, let’s just say Trapper. Under this new system would trapper keep Hag’s perks at tier 3? Or would I have to prestige Hag?

Edit: My mistake on reading and replying to this too quickly. You won't be losing anything you've currently unlocked on any character, if you decide not to prestige. The teachable perk system is not being altered.

But I don’t want to do that lol. I already have the perks now. Why should I have to prestige a character I don’t like and never have any intention of playing to get something I already have?
0 -
I thought the old system was going to be left in place so if you have unlocked teachables, they'll still show up in the blood web after the new system kicks in, but if you prestige a character, then all other killers will automatically have it at the rank you prestiged. No blood web grind needed. If that's the case he doesn't need to do anything.
0 -
You don't! Losing perks/addons when prestiging is going away too, so if you just wait until the prestige change happens then you'll get to keep your stuff & also benefit from the basekit teachables.
2 -
Yes, both systems will exist! The grind only goes away on other characters if you prestige the character whose teachables you want across the board on all other characters.
1 -
Ahh that makes logical sense! Thanks for the explanation.
