RIP the Community Event
Considering that we need 750 000 unique players and that we are only about 1/5 into the first one. I think it safe to say that the event is dead as long as the devs does not fix it.
I don't see why they capped the event. What am I supposed to do after I have contributed my 40 points?
If it wasn't capped then we could all grind towards a common goal as a community but now the only thing we can do is hope that some other people that might not even care about the event, to do it.
It is sad. I was looking forward to this event.

Fitst one won't break 10 mil. Each player can only contribute 40, simply not enough players.
1 -
Please behaviour change them to gain progression passively and not when activated. You can't expect us to actually progress them by having them selected if you also release a tome level and personal event challenges.
1 -
I don't think they necessarily overestimated how many people play the game but rather how many people will select a community challenge that only rewards cosmetic pieces for characters they may not even have over an individual challenge that gives them BP and rift fragments.
4 -
It is so silly. Why we need to keep them selected? They should have progression even we won't pick them.
7 -
That's not the problem. There's nothing hard about doing one additional challenge for 40 skill checks or gen kicks.
The problem is that there aren't enough players for everyone to only contribute 40.
4 -
Has it ever been confirmed if we need the challenge to be selected to continue contributing? That makes a huge difference as people might also need to select individual challenges to complete the rift..
1 -
Can we get a full official confirmation please as this was said today by Mandy
4 -
I quoted that to Mandy in another post and she said that wasn't the case. So which is it?
1 -
Is it even about how many are playing though? It’s just that people never kick gens.
0 -
That is not what i meant, the 40 gen kicks aren't hard neither are skill checks, the problem is that to progress it in the first place you need to have it selected, meaning you can't continue helping the community if you don't have it constantly selected

Besides the conflicting ifo we've had regarding this...
Realistically, do you expect all players to go above their required 40?
Most players won't be on the forums or even dbd social media, so they won't know that the goal isn't 40 skillchecks/kicks, but is actually closer to 400 on average.
Average. So for those of us who are trying... 1000? To compensate for those doing the bare minimum.
0 -
there is no cap on how much you can contribute
2 -
There is a cap, Mandy confirmed in another post.
3 -
So I guess petition to have the challenges reduced a bit? Or to let us contribute more towards the goal.

RIP Community Event
9 -
Correct me if I'm wrong but if it's capped and we can only do our contribution and nothing else that would require 750,000 individual players to do the challenge.
EDIT: Okay I saw the OP again and that's right. How many people does BHVR think are on consoles lol.
0 -
You can only do 40. Once you've done your 40, you've completed it. At least for your personal contribution.
0 -
Pretty good job so far.
1 -
Petition. The event ends in 19 days making this clearly impossible.
0 -
Did about 5 topics get merged here? What a confusing thread! XD
0 -
On an upnote, I'm guessing a lot of players are doing their solo challenges first. Once those people finish their solo tasks we'll probably see an uptick in people doing the cooperative challenges in a couple of days which hopefully will help.
2 -
What if the community event is the facecamping we suffered along the way?
0 -
I will say if this does somehow get completed nobody is allowed to make a "lol DBD dead game" thread for at least another year.
1 -
We will never complete this challenge because of impossible tasks.
rip

20? Isn't it 12 days left? I certainly hope the devs do something, I get freebies shouldn't be handed to us but they made those cosmetics available during this event to get for free so I doubt they wouldn't want people to get them. It would be like teasing an animal with a treat and not giving it to them. Inhuman
0 -
Yeah true
0 -
Well that means we will never finish the challenges because we can't keep griding it anyway.
0 -
It started yesterday and it's 20, 19 now. Either way, it's going to go by fast. We also have a second tier. 20 days for 2 tiers and we are nowhere close to completing the first one... Plus people are working on the personal ones and you can't do both, there's no logical way we can even complete tier 1. It might be possible to complete 2 of the challenges at this rate. If we do 6 million a day, it will take 4 days to complete the first challenge. That doesn't include the 40 limit we can contribute with the variable of how many players are doing this challenge.
1 -
that's lame, they should make community goal part of the challange always active for the entire player base
1 -
This sucks. I was really excited about that Dredge cosmetic. The weapon part is useless on its own.
I am so disappointed that they created a community challenge that can't be completed. That's beyond disheartening. I've never seen game devs do that to their playerbase before.
7 -
Why did you think the 40 was all you could contribute over it being the threshold you needed to unlock the node?
0 -
I also wanted dthe dredge outfit, I already have his weapon part. I like it better than his doll cosmetic so it's beyond sad. First anniversary event I've been able to play in and there is a lot of dissapointment.
1 -
their hopes went really too high if they think that there's 750 000 ACTIVE players, that will also complete this challenge.
Yeah, there's like around 90-100k active people from steam only, but that's not even close. I don't think other platforms can cover even the half of it
Those challenges need to be changed to count after meeting personal goal, or we won't get past 1st challenge, not even speaking of the rest of them
2 -
It looks like it was confirmed earlier in this thread by a mod that after you get the 40 you can't contribute anymore
0 -
Quite the opposite, the mod stated you can contribute more.
Edit: I'm taking what Peanits stated as the case. Unless he revokes his statement.
0 -
RIP, I liked the Haddie's top. If we even complete the first challenge, the event ends in like 12 days. There's no way we are going to do all the challenges if for each of them, we can only contribute 40 times.
0 -
This is both tragic and kinda embarrassing ngl. Like how did BHVR mess this one up so bad.
You can't contribute more.
0 -
Then...this is legitimately impossible, considering that the rate of progress will taper off as people finish theirs up. At best, we'll get Glittering Mass, and that's it.
Is this intended to be impossible, as some sort of anniversary gag, or is the numbers tuning just squiffy?
1 -
There were different comments, the first one said yes, and then Mandy said this is not the case and you cannot keep contributing, and the first mod came back and stated that what Mandy said is correct and their first comment was a mistake
0 -
We haven't, Mandy has confirmed what peanits said isn't true. We cannot contribute more once you have completed it.
0 -
It being capped or not makes no difference, people will go back to solo challenges after hitting 40.. and there's a TON of solo challenges left. Keep in mind the 4th level of the tome came out a day before the anniversary event started and I didn't even start it until yesterday, so there's those challenges and the anniversary ones. Not many people will keep the communing challenges selected.
They should've just made the whole thing passive and left it uncapped. I'm not really sure what they were thinking honestly. If you think about it for 2 seconds from a design perspective these issues could be anticipated.. Once I realized you can't have a community challenge and solo challenge selected at the same time.. I instantly realized BHVR screwed up, as I'm sure many other people did as well
2 -
Mandy said it is not, and Rizzo confirmed. Here the messages:
0 -
It's still possible we get that. I don't foresee us completing tier 1 of the event though.. Possibly not even getting Haddie's other cosmetic. Definitely not completing tier 2.
0 -
What I find even worse/sad is there's barely any communication. The mods themselves have mixed up the info making things confusing for us and they haven't tried assuring us or anything, especially since there like 3 or 4 threads about the community challenges.
6 -
So, bear with me here, mathematically speaking
30 000 000/40 = 750 000
Peak players on steam is 96k
I HIGHLY DOUBT that there are 600k console players
How did that even pass ?
4 -
I quoted what Peanits said to Mandy and she said that wasn't true, it's capped.
0 -
They should state that you need to select it - i never saw this except here.
Isn´t this the first time? As i remember the last event were counted in the background.
0 -
Possible, but with each player capped at 40 for their contributions the big push is at the beginning and after that it'll be a trickle. 750,000 unique players are required to complete the first challenge before we can even start the next one.
I'm not getting my hopes up. This community challenge track was designed to fail.
