'Why Are Killers Playing So Sweaty?' - Postgame, For Your Amusement/Annoyance!
Man, this event really has brought out the butts in force.
So - I queue up, get sent to Eyrie (again! I swear, I'll need to shake the sand out of my boots tonight). No flans besides mine, instead I get a further hook offering, a map offering and a pair of white wards.
Yay, it's probably a SWF.
Amazingly sweaty - bodyblocks, sabos, blasted the gens out. But I was playing Letter Pig (among my favorite things to play when I'm in the mood for something different), and I can always turn up the volume if I have to. They were also BM as hell, teabagging after every pallet drop. Regardless, I'm trying not to let people get under my skin, and still kept to my 'two hook everyone before killing' rule that I try to adhere to outside of EOGC. Got 2 of them dead, let the last two go - the only non BM one and someone with an invitation aura.
Of course, they don't leave - they stay in the exit gates teabagging and acting the fool.
Postgame, I asked them what was up.
Here's the start and most of the end of the discussion, omitted me saying 'you okay?' and getting '#### off' in response. The cut off sentence is one saying 'I don't play this game to get ####### babyed by the killer'.
It got...sort of blue from there and I just bailed.
So - survivors, if you're wondering why killers are being a bit sweaty this event and not just letting you live to get your masks...you just can't win!
Wipe everyone out, you're the bad guy.
Let someone live - you're the bad guy!
Yeah, that's me for the night. Woof.

Just kill em all, then you are less likely to have any regrets.
I am always less annoyed if I kill a nice players than when I let a moron escape.

I prefer to kill all the survivors myself. Probably the mistake you're doing OP is expecting good recognition from enemies.

I don't really care about good recognition, but throwing a hissy fit *because the killer let you go* - especially with the dozens of 'killers, just hook people don't kill stop being sweaty' threads I've seen since this event started - yeah, that does annoy me.

No matter what you did these survivors were going to throw a fit about something. This is just more reason why chat should just be removed. Rarely do I ever see good interactions shared it's always something negative.

if they want to die they can just wait for the EGC to take them...?
gg for being nice! Spread the love and the love might come back around!

Yeah, honestly postgame...
I mean, I've had some good interactions and funny banter on there, but it's mostly either people salty about losing, gloating about winning - and, as you see here, salty about you not playing precisely how they wanted you to.

Yep. Been here before in the exact same scenario. It's rare, but it happens where you can play a normal game, spare people at the end, and they get pissy about the sparing. It's literally impossible to please Schrodinger's survivor. Everyone wants something different. The only solution is to just do whatever you want, because playing to please someone else just does not work.
My policy this event has been to spare as long as the survivors aren't rude, and if they brought more than one flan. If they don't bring me bloodpoints, then I'm playing on regular match rules (and I need to keep my MMR up or else it'll just be solid newbies eventually.) So I probably wouldn't have spared that group on two counts, they clearly didn't come into the game looking to make nice, but if you can find it in your heart, all the more power to you.
(Love Amanda's Letter Pig, btw. Such an underrated build. Fun as hell to sneak up on people and come swinging from around a corner.)

I would be angry that they didn't bring flans so just hard tunnel and facecamp them... Well I never seen survivor being angry that you let them go but I quess some are like that but if they just teabag and flaslight click at you just kill them. But normally when I let them go survivors has shown me at least respect giving me their item while they leave so you just have to see in the match what kind of survivors they are how they act. I gotten also messages gg and thank's from them.

Aura reading is my favorite thing in this game. I love to chase, and I hate losing people/when they hide - so my ultimate 'fun' builds are Letter Pig and VM Myers (with Monitor and Rabbit). Just so, so much fun.
Eh, it's a personal thing. I'm trying to teach myself not to tilt when people are BM, so I've made it a pledge that I'll play the same against a BM survivor as I would against a regular survivor.

It sucks that events like these prove so divisive. I don't really try to do the events myself, but these survivors were pretty unreasonable IMO. I'm all for letting people play how they want. I think it's up to the devs to give players options so their playstyles (casual vs competitive) aren't in conflict with one another.

Blizzard tried this in Starcraft 2. It was...sadly, a disaster. All that would happen is pro players coming over to Unranked to crush newbies to unwind, and if you wanted a decent game at your skill level, starting out, Ranked was ironically the better option than the 'casual' mode.

Survivors should stop being this way.
If you're toxic, then you most likely gonna get camped or slugged.
It's killed, or be killed.
