Anyone else find themselves trapped with this event?

On one hand you wanna play and have fun with the anniversary with the special lights, and the extra bloodpoints. Cool themed items like flashlights, and toolboxes etc... the flan... sales. All this stuff.

But on the other hand, the games are incredibly exhausting due to games just being tough from the amount of sweating going on or literally as i've already said just flat out exhausting?

Am I alone in this?

This event has brought out the worst in people.

Part of this is because matchmaking is more borked than my previous dog when another dog walked by, thanks to the playerbase doubling overnight, and a lot of 2000-5000 hour veterans coming back after a protracted break and starting out against very low MMR folks, plus a lot more lobby dodges and longer queues.

Lol it sounds worse when you're a survivor cheesing it cause there's 3 other people relying on you, but I really just don't want to play a game that's going to be frustrating, and that has been a lot of them thanks to the event. Hook time for me it is.

Probably an unpopular opinion, but I haven't noticed games being sweatier than usual. That said it would make sense why people are. Killers get more bp the better they do and survivors need to at least power the gates for their masks. It's just incentivized to play well. Then there's the spoil sports who actively try to make people have a bad time but they're in the minority.

I've been playing purposely relaxed as killer. Mostly getting everyone hooked once or twice then goofing around the rest of the match hitting challenges or just trying to get "#########" reactions out of survivors before I open the gates. Pretty much every kill was survivors sacrificing themselves as thanks, bad apples that wanted to act up, or AFKers. Averaging 100k BP a match and not having to sweat much while getting some laughs and fun interactions has been a great change of pace.

But I can't!!! It's the Anniversary event, i'll miss out on so many good things :(

I also do enjoy the game a lot, it's not burnout... it's just very frustrating during this event and I think other people feel similar too.

Tbh i'm starting to feel the exhaustion a little, but maybe that's just because i've been grinding a lot considering i was veeeery late on the rift, like im playing a good 5-7 hours a day when that's usually the amount i play in a week, so that doesn't help lol. If i find the games too sweaty I just switch to killer and play nice, but yeah i think grinding to get the rewards quickly becomes tiring pretty quickly if you don't usually play a lot.

Honestly it’s just digital crap designed to play on your FOMO to maximise your gaming time.

Don't get me wrong free stuff, cosmetics, BPs etc is all good I like it too, events are great for that, but really DBD would be the same if you have that stuff or if you don’t.

Your discussion threads are making it sound like you are not having fun. If you are feeling trapped and ‘have’ to play or you’ll miss out then that doesn’t sound like much fun.

The best thing is to walk away and just miss out.

You’ll quickly realise it doesn’t matter.

I haven’t logged on so far this event I’ve been busy doing other stuff I guess I’ll probably miss this run of digital crap. I’ll get the next run maybe.

I'm just sick of them still adding challenges where you have to throw the match, despite repetitive community feedback for them to stop doing so. Get stunned, be injured and hide near the killer, go from healthy to injured while vaulting (like we even have a problem with that happening normally anyways though), etc. etc. Real inviting 'challenges', thanks BHVR!

The sweat is greatly exaggerated IMO, it probably just feels like it because there's so much more BP to gain. I've been playing with non meta perks (on characters I'm lvling up for cakes) and games are not much different than usual. No DH, BT or DS.

There's some facecamping bubbas as usual but also some killers letting me and other survivors escape after a tough match.

The first day they most certainly were. There seemed to be a huge influx of survivors, and SWFs at that, most likely high MMR, which oversaturated the matchmaking. Killer queues were instant and led to horrid games.

It all clamed down a bit after a few hours though, once players realised it was much easier to progress as Killer.

I've actually been having pretty good games. I had one griefer killer, one toxic 2-man SWF, three rounds of solo queue teammates that left me to die/hook farmed me, and a few groups of your average tbagging survivors that thought they big brain outplayed me when I was screwing around after two hooks, but on the whole I've been having good games. Haven't faced any mega sweaty survivors, and I can think of a few survivor games where I'm like 80% sure the killer deliberately extended the match instead of doing the most expedient thing for them.

That said, my killer MMR is tanking right now because I keep sparing people, so... that's almost assuredly why my killer games are so easygoing.

Yup I've literally not been able to enjoy the handful of hours I've usually put into the game. Once it gets frustrating, one fun match and I'm back at it.

Now it's so bad like... I finally got all the masks but challenges (like the losing a health state by getting hit by vaulting) is just SO difficult when you don't play killer... You simply cannot progress through the tome.

Some killers are extremely annoying, just played against an oni and a nurse playing like their life depends on it, camping hooks and slugging early for 4k... I mean if everyone used offerings and you're winning against a weaker team why not just chill a bit and play for hooks ? Nah lets just camp someone on his first hook and slug everyone, no one finished with more than 12k... these early slug shouldn't be a thing and facecamp is still an effective strategy in 2022, it's so lame bro, I just go back to playing killer I guess but this game actually sucks
