Hold W meta after perk rework
This will be an unpopular take but i do believe that Sprint burst will be the new Dead hard and yes people were saying that would be the case i remember way back before DH was a thing SB was the meta i feel like devs should at least figure out how to prevent 99% Sb before it becomes the new most used tech or whatever

I’m willing to wait and see what happens after DH is nerfed, but I do think SB and overcome will rise in popularity by a lot

Eh SB will make players far less efficient, people wont 99 it right or waste lots of time doing so and people will SB to deadzones.
I'll just be glad people cant press X button just to correct their mistakes or gain distance at loops for no reason
14 -
Then they'll make more changes if this happens. Honestly at least killers know about SB at the start of a chase rather then being cheated at the end. Overcome is solid but the problem with it is that you don't control when you get it, the killer does and that may not be optimal for you.
Dead Hard is 100% in the players control provided they are wounded. 99% SB is potentially annoying but there's a lot of ifs and buts with it. Wil some people complain about SB? You bet but it's nothing compared to how many understandably hate on Dead Hard.

So, after DH, the target is ready to switch to SB.
Lithe and Balanced landing better run (no pun intended) to safety, because their time will come as well.
Color me shocked.

I mean, sprint burst is literally the second best exhaustion perk.
3 -
Depends what they do, Extending chases by using the distance into loops is the main problem, not the invincibility. Perhaps give it the same treatment as a doctor's shock, keep it as it is but can't interact or vault for 1.5/ 2 seconds after using Dead Hard.

As a SB user, 99%-ing it will not be consistent so I don't think it should be an issue and it has more flaws than DH.
1) Not everyone wants to walk every where
2) You can still be hit during the sprint
3) Once the boost ends, it's fair game since it only helps for the first few seconds of the chase.
3 -
I saw 3000 hours survivors who can't 99% SB effectively.
I'm glad to change SB for DH. Jesus, anytime. At least SB request some set up and preparation, is not just a button to just win the chase inmediately.
4 -
99% sprint burst is not a problem. It's not something you will always have ready so no, it does not need to be changed

The nerf Sprint Burst threads have already started. My prediction was true.
8 -
There’s more still to come lol

I'm pretty sure you are right. After all SB is way stronger than DH. The only difference is that properly using SB requires some skill.
0 -
Already see it happening.
0 -
Either I just don't run an exhaustion perk and if I do I just stick with BL.
0 -
If sprint burst is stronger, then why is everybody running dead hard?
As for me, i am a lithe enjoyer
0 -
Dead Hard doesn't requires any skill to speak of.
Sprint Burst does. Survivors using it are usually quite good. (Way better than me in that role)
Lithe is nice but more situational IMHO. Still better than Balanced Landing though.

SB and DH.. both completly different cup of tea

I don't mind SB nearly as much. That is something I see from start of the chase, I can choose to commit or not from the beginning.
DH can be used in middle of chase and if you drop that chase you wasted a lot of time.
SB is also really good perk, but it's also way harder to use. Mainly because DH is super easy to use. I am sure overcome and Lithe will find some use, because they are also simple to use.
0 -
Have they? I've yet to see even one.
0 -
Fearmonger is about to be really good. Forcing survivors to leave gens early and preventing them from greeding gens is going to be really good.
I don't really use exhaustions much anymore besides BL every now and then so I'm good, but this is going to be a rough transition for some people.

Sluzzy, there will always be complainers, on both sides, you didn't "predict" anything
2 -
Keep tryin sluzzy this is just to address my concern for it i dont want nerfs go back to your bait posts

Yes, SB is definitely stronger, that's definitely the reason why I see 1/10 survivors use it, and the other 9 have DH
1 -
Sprint burst is pretty much a non issue like the other exhaustion perks
The game will be fine when dead hard is Nerfed
0 -
Honestly, I don't think sprint burst is too much of an issue. Sure, it can be annoying sometimes to see someone just zoom away all of a sudden when you approach them, but you more than likely haven't started a full chase by then. It's not like DH which can be used mid chase to give a survivor the advantage of diving towards a pallet, extending the chase even more.

Sprint burst will never be meta again because unlike when the game was released exhaustion no longer regenerates whilst sprinting.
Survivors won’t be walking around the map for the entire game just to be able to get some sprint burst usage.
Lithe, Balanced Landing and Overcome will probably become meta. Like the former were in the good old days.
0 -
That would be one of the wrong ways to use sprint burst.
The "issue" would only be with players using it properly.
0 -
Well when a perk is nerfed and is no longer the top one, people are gonna move to the next best thing. You can't just keep nerfing the next best perk because survivors will now be using that instead lol. Sprint burst is fine the way it is, dead hard did indeed need a change, and we don't even know if it'll no longer be the best exhaustion, but sb is balanced.
1 -
Uh, Hold W meta WITH dh is much worse than SB tbh.
0 -
Most people dont really see an issue with SB, and most people who have an issue with SB only have concerns based on what old Exhaustion was like.
Personally, I think 99%ing Sprint Burst is more skillful than just pressing E anytime you feel like, takes a lot more micromanagement and planning ahead, and most people who use SB kind of get hard countered by Fearmonger (since most people who use SB are on gens and only really leave when the killer is right on top of them). So seeing SB become meta is honestly going to be a lot more interesting and I personally think Im going to like it more than DH.
I think the only complaints people have is just with holding W being more efficient than looping against almost all of the killer roster, which I can understand the complaints, since looping actually takes skill and has interactions between the survivors and killer, and most people on both sides just really dislike the idea of running in a straight line and never looking behind them being the bigger time-waster than anything else (I mean, why else do you think people dislike a majority of anti-loop killers?), or at least I reckon so.

^^^
This right here...
I dont normally run Exhaustion perks, but when I do, it's always Balanced Landing (Ive considered on getting Smash Hit in my Bloodwebs as well for an Exhaustion perk but that's besides the point). I like it when perks have different interactions with already existing mechanics, Head On, SH, BL, etc, just taking an already existing mechanic and deriving something new from it. Heck, my two most favorite perks in the whole game are Any Means Necessary and Dark Devotion just from their design alone! Id love to just see more perks like it, I know most people see them as "niche" but I just love toying around with them.

But by a wide margin way, way, WAY behind DH. Proper use of Sprint Burst can be annoying, thats for sure, but not even in the same ballpark as DH. We will probably see some people why then cry for SB's nerf, but half of those will be trolls and I gurantee you that the overall outcry will never reach anything then we are experiencing right now with DH.
2 -
I'm still calling that it's only going to be 3 SBs from an unsafe gen to a good loop before a forum post gets made.
2 -
Which is why I believe Artist will grow in popularity when DH gets nerfed and SB becomes the meta Exhaustion Perk.
Fearmonger with O Grief, O Lover and Silver Bell is (hopefully) going to be the new meta on her
1 -
Curb yourself with sarcasm. Most people here misunderstand that :D

Hold W is not meta...
W, A, S, Hold W, A, D, A, D, A, D, A, D... is meta!
0 -
Survivors already complaining and Dead Hard nerf isn't even announced.
Imagine the forum in a few weeks if they nerf DH to the ground. Oh lord, will take some vacation from the forum for sure.
0 -
SB complaints will only happen if they make main building overpowere.... oh wait, Garden of joy, Haddonfield, Groaning storehouse, grim pantry top floor.
Yeah there will be complaints. It will be like the old days where everyone just sprints to the infinite.

As a wraith main, I welcome the new SB (or anything) meta. Besides nurse and blight, wraith is the only killer that won’t completely lose chases with non-DH exhaustion perks. Sure, they can deny you a hit at a vault or drop same as any other killer, but you just cloak and are back on them 5 seconds later.

Just like killers did when Ruin was "nerfed". The forums went into absolute meltdown mode. The amount of complaint threads were truly amazing.
1 -
I agree. It's definitely gonna be annoying when people say they were right saying that sprint burst will become more popular though.
0 -
Nah, thats practically inevitable. But I don't buy into the whole "ya'll will see that SB is that much stronger and more annoying then DH ever was. Ya'll will curse the day they disabled DH!!!11".
Yes, SB can be annoying, but no, I will happily deal with 4 SB then with 4 DH every game. And I don`t think that it will become THAT prevalent, it will become more popular, but a lot of peeps will stick to their favorite exhaustion perk, be that Lithe (my personal favorite), Balanced Landing or Overcome (close second as I love the houdini build with Overcome, Lucky Break and Quick&Quiet, maybe in combo with Inner Healing).
